@@codlover4727 fuel tank leak due to rust is a main issue. Also don't get the carb touched by inexperienced people as it is a butterfly carburettor. Also keep an eye on the water passage underneath the fuel lid which tends to get blocked and settle water inside. If the fuel lid seal is not in good form water enters the tank and could give you nightmares. This is all the issues I faced with mine.

I got a third hand bike in 2015 odo 34k ,, right now odo is 175k with a single pisston kit change. i used to think I was the GOAT until I met a guy with 263k on his , and believe it or not, he is still on his original piston/block kit.

Absolutely agree. In 2013, the GS was going for 78500 on road and Unicorn was slightly more, but once I took a test ride the GS impressed me so much and it was the best decision I made. I feel you about the spare parts too. I have been looking for a new gear lever, but they don't have it unfortunately ☹

I got my gs150r in 2011. 1year back my friend got an used gs150r that has clocked 2lakh kilometres but the bike is in awesome condition zero vibration. felt like driving a brand new bike back when I bought my gs150r at 2011 this is Suzuki no still delivers same performance tooo. (No bike will be alive for 2lakh kilometres In a prestine condition) I will not sell it because its such a reliable japanese bike!!! No problems whatsoever except battery, tyres,brakepads,and chain sprocket..
@@sanjeetdubey3452 I have tested it at various speeds. If I go between 75-85 the fuel efficiency drops to 48-52. If I maintain it between 60 and 70 like in this video I usually get around 55-58. This attempt shocked me because it went into the 60s. Usually in the city with heavy traffic I get 50. 60-70 is the ideal cruising speed for getting the best fuel efficiency out of the gs.
The manual says change the oil filter every alternate service i.e. 4000 kms but that's because they recommend changing the oil only every 4000 and topping up in between. It's best to change every time you get the oil changed.
Reserve capacity is 2.3 liters. After you hit reserve you can ride for another 35-40 kms and then the bar starts blinking to tell you there is just one liter of fuel left.

Hi sam, I too got this bike. 2011 model 45500 km only ride. Just know got full service.i checked mileage in reserve mode ( full drain mode) only 30 km.... I didn't drive in city / long drive! Only local near my house for getting groceries etc... Not even to office since wfh... Is that fyn???
So did it give just 30 kpl? Well that has never happened to me. However I am planning to do a tank drain test soon and will be able to tell you then. I would say 30 in the city is too low. Mine has never gone below 45.

Optimum RPM 3500 se 5000 rpm ke bich hai. Aise bike ki mileage badegi. 6000 rpm ke upar chalane se mileage pakka drop hogi. 6. Agar chain sprocket purana ho gaya hai toh woh bhi change karana hai, kyunki woh bhi efficiency ko down karta hai.
Same here. I actually have never tested at speeds of 60-70 on the highway. Usually on long rides, I ride at 75-85 on the highway and at that speed it gives around 45-48.
I highly recommend using Shell 20w40. It's a mineral oil so you will need to change it within 2000 kms but it really gives the best performance and fuel efficiency in my experience. I did experiment with shell 10w40 semi synthetic but felt that the smoothness was a bit compromised.
@@shubhambansal9789 That would be better suited to Duke 390 and Pulsar 150/180. The 50 grade is too thick for the GS engine. I would recommend sticking to 20W40. If you want to experiment with Synthetic or Semi Synthetic you can go with 10W40. Just do not exceed the 40 grade because it becomes too thick then.
@@shubhambansal9789 yes maybe for the yamaha engine it might work. I have not had good results with it for GS though. It varies from engine to engine actually.
Nothing Abnormal bro. Its a Suzuki. Mine used to return a minimum of 56kmpl back in 2016. Done over 93000 and sold it in 2018 and brought a new discover 125(Stupidest decision in my life)
I own a 2005 unicorn and a 2009 gs150. I have driven both my bikes a combined of 350k kms+ and from past 8 years I use both of my beauties for Stuntriding. Watching this video and taking a feel of what kind of mileage this bike would give as I use it only for my stuntriding and practice sessions. I have never kept an eye on the mileage it is returning but I guess the way i ride it on one wheel it returns me somewhere between 30 to 35 kmpl for both unicorn and gs150 and I am damn happy with it.
That's unfortunate and a problem with the Suzuki brand. I'm very lucky that the ranigunj service center here in Hyderabad is simply the best and they maintain the bike really well.
Might be an issue. Better to have it thoroughly checked by a good Suzuki service center. Fortunately, the one here at Hyderabad Ranigunj has done a fantastic job.

What's the Engine oil filter change interval while using mineral oil for 2k kms ? Shall I need to change each and every time during the oil change ?

How often do you do valve inspection,mine is 2 years old and never done valve
I have not had to do valve inspections thus far. Every service the mechanic tells me the engine is absolutely fine and needs no changes.

What I suggest is, do 4 to 5 more such tests, and take out the average, that will give you accurate result.

I think your clutch assembly may be a little worn. It should actually do aroun 70 kph at 5000 rpm, so this is the first sign that the clutch is worn.
