My brother and I grew up on these . Started with DW2 and kept it going. DW2 is definitely one of the most difficult due to the constant healing, blocking, and strong peons. It’s good to know we weren’t the only 🥷s playing DW games 😂😂 the older games were definitely harder than the newer ones, but I never ducked the smoke with Lu Bu. Great video
I remember in DW3. The blocking counter whatever that is. Pushes people back. While guarding you can press square just after the attack to push em back. Plus in DW4, theres this weird taunt or guard break move whatever it is. Just push R3 ( or i think its the L3) and you can break someones guard. Although the animation takes long! DW6 you can also do a grab with guard + triangle, it can break through guards
In Dynasty Warriors 9, fighting Lu Bu can be avoided, all that needs to be done is to take the long travel to Luoyang and whoop Dong Zhuo like he’s garbage.
This was a whole nostalgia trip. But the part that hit the hardest was the intro to DW4. That intro was genuinely getting me hyped. I always considered DW4 to be the GOAT of the series. I played so much of 3 & 4 as a kid. Didn't care much for 5. I'm starting to think maybe I should give it another shot as an adult this time.
In DW3 there’s a “counter” mechanic called “Power Guard” If you’re guarding and press SQUARE, you’ll push the enemy back and create openings to whiff punish
To heal in DW5, you need to capture a supply base which is indicated by a circle on the pause menu map. It'll spawn health items like meat and full heals every minute or 30 seconds. Otherwise, you'll have to break vases for a smaller heal or combo normal soldiers for items like healing and such.

29:56 I was just waiting for you to figure out that you have 2 grabs out of the guard stance in DW6😭 a light one with square (which is what you were doing) and a heavy one with triangle (which can break through guards and is normally a lot cooler) especially with Lu bu’s heavy grab😂
Peeping these intros made me remember how much they had me in tears 23:45 imagine see in a mf do that irl real quick? 35:28 bro just made a wave with one swing. It’s like all these mfs got heavenly restrictions and the rest of the soldiers tryna figure life out
In 8, enemies can switch weapons and have 3 mosou which can freeze you in place. You were fucked if Lu Bu manages to switch his halberds or does any mosou on you, with two of them being unblockable
I think it might be impossible to beat Lu Bu in a duel in base DW4 (on hard mode) But I’ve seen folks do it in Xtreme Legends on the hardest difficulty (they may have balanced the game in the expansion)

Some games Lu Bu gets harder to beat if u take out Diao Chan first. Taking her out makes Lu Bu go into a frenzy. You should try it out!

I'm not sure about the others but I know for DW3 the hardest difficulty is locked behind the Xtreme Legends expansion

In DW4, you can cheese Lu Bu with Zhuge Liang’s jump charge attack!
He pretty much does an orbital strike that’s unblockable. . .

why you have so low defence in dw5. in other games you have maxed that stat but in dw5 it was less than half full?
4 will always have the strongest Lu Bu, 1v1 duel, beat him 😂
