One of my original batteries went bad and wouldn't charge. Adjusted that left side "P" terminal with a curved pick and now it charges perfectly. No more flashing lights! Great vid.
This is brilliant! I didn’t have the same problem as mine was a slinger blinking red led (like a low battery light) but tweaking the contacts and a little clean sorted them right out! M12-PAL mag light.
I got the flashing lights on my ratchet working on my truck today. When it happened, I just switched out batteries right then and forgot about it. By 100% chance, this video just showed up on my feed tonight! Crazy. So I went out to the garage and sure enough, my contact was low too. Thanks!
Yes, you are absolutely right. I commented on another video: "QUICK FIX... Often that terminal on the battery is bent too far into the battery case so get a small screwdriver and bend it out again. When power is connected to the drill with the two large spade connectors the circuitry checks to see that the third contact has been made. If not it will give the 'disco of death' blinking. Bend the connector back into place and you will be up and running! Bad design of battery case! Hope that helps!"
Thank you! My brand new oscillating tool didn't work due to this issue. Looks like this is common enough that they need to increase quality control on these batteries
I agree they could do a better job on that especially for a premium tool company like Milwaukee. Glad you got it fixed and working again ... thank you for watching
who would have thought? that did solve my problems with my Milwaukee tools. Used to be intermittent and then progressively got worse. That saved having to buy new batteries.
Great finding! I also got the same blinking and didn't know why until watching your video. Thanks! If your method doesn't work, it means the temperature sensor went bad. Looks like the temperature sensor is a 10k NTC thermistor
outstanding video, saved me the hassle of having to go back to home depot and possibly have to trade in an entire kit just for one 4ah battery. Definitely a QC issue i don't expect from tools as expensive as Milwaukee tbh. Thanks for making this!
Thanks Theo. On mine the contact in the driver was bent down horizontally because it had hit the plastic housing on the battery. Poor contact design. It was evident on the batteries at the top of the contact as the plastic was marked or damaged. Pushed the tab contact in the driver up against the wall vertically and it solved the problem.
От души золотой! Просто атогнуть язычек у батареи и все! Я сам по началу ахуел, решил проверить новокупленую батарею 5хс, а там мигание, чуть разогнул ножом правый кантакт и вуаля бля заработала))))
I have an issue with my 3/8 stubby cutting out and flashing lights under a few seconds of load(ex driving lag screw into 2x4) . Is this the same issue as your ?
I can confirm that these temperature pins are lower than the other two to the left even on brand new batteries. Took this opportunity to buy a XC/CP high output combo kit with charger ($99 Home Depot online only, get it while it lasts) and even on these the temp pin sits far lower and is recessed deeper into the casing than the other two. They function fine as of now so I’m not messing with them
I took mine apart thinking the cells weren't balanced. Balancing them didn't seem to make a difference (though it was needed). My contacts all looked slightly lower than they should be, but I gently pryed the temp contact forward with a pick and slightly further with some small needle nose. That's all it needed to work properly again! This was a 6.0 I used in an impact. Seems like the vibrations were causing it to lose contact.
That's when it started with me with this one battery changed it out running fine and got to looking at it and found this problem lol ... thank you for watching
@@CountryMileGarage it is correct. I switched out the batteries. Adjusted the clip end on the tool itself and on the battery. Batteries fully charged. Still just flashing and it will sometimes work but not at full capacity. And it’ll go back to flashing again.

this silly issue ruined my entire evening because i was supposed to be over before 6 and i took until 9 because i had to tighten and loosen everything by hand
That sucks for sure, but it also shows how much we rely on these kinds of tools anymore ... I remember when everything was done by hand or maybe an air ratchet lol ... hope it's fixed now and thank you for watching
Had mine for 2 weeks and it started doing this. Thanks for the video much appreciated saved me a lengthy warranty claim

Nicely done Theo. Most would have just tossed it away or tried to warranty it out instead of fixing it.
