I get the appeal but a dystopian place is one where it’s fucked up because the government fucked it up or allows it to fuck up itself. These places exist already in the US which are low income spots but without the aesthetic appeal, just very dirty

The saber-rattlers who dragged us all into this hell seem to have fallen on their swords at last, and left us Human Beings to our warmth. We, at least, get to cozy up together in purgatory, secure in the knowledge that there was a Before, and there will Be more to come...
