- We rely on farmers and farmland to grow the crops we need to live. But a short- term mindset, land mismanagement and the compounding impacts of climate change have degraded the Earth’s soil.
Boomitra, which means “friend of the earth” in Sanskrit, is using regenerative agriculture to remove CO2 - while providing the farmers with extra income.

Over the last ten years, the evidence that we face urgent challenges to protect the environment has become indisputable, and it’s clear that the time to act is now. Drawing inspiration from the concept of moonshots, which since the moon landing in 1969 has become shorthand to talk about the most ambitious and ground-breaking goals, Prince William announced The Earthshot Prize: an ambitious set of challenges to inspire a decade of action to repair the planet.

Hello I’m from Portugal and have been doing this the best I can with some free resources online to see how the soil is. I’ve been changing to regenerative agriculture for the past two years as we know biologic is good, but going back to the real basics is going down the road of regenerative agriculture. Of course, the soil is very deployed because of decades of using chemicals in all those products so the first 2, 3 years is not that easy to control all the infest and sickness that may appear in the vineyards but it’s possible.
For anyone that’s interested in this you have a lot of information on RUclips to see what other people have been doing in that area and it’s amazing.
