    Some of you have asked about my planner! It's just an inexpensive weekly/monthly planner from Amazon, but i love it. It's perfect for macro, brain dumping. Here is the link: amzn.to/3gbtkki

      Hi Cass, love your videos. I really wanted to ask you something. I have been considering the weight loss surgery for a long time now, and just like you, I feel like that is my only option and I am certain about it. Have done my research and all the boring stuff, I just wanted to know from you, how has the skin side of things been for you? I'm sorry if this is too personal and if you are not comfortable answering this I totally understand, but the one thing that worries me a lot is the skin aspect post surgery, is that something I should be worried about? How do you feel about it and how has it been for you?

    • @Clutterbug
      @Clutterbug  3 года назад +43

      Not too personal at all! I have loose skin, but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I have a lot of stretch marks from pregnancy, so a bikini bod has never been my goal. The loose skin doesn't bother me at all, I just tuck it in my pants and forget it's even there! I even wear tank tops, despite my arm skin flaps. I'm like BatMom, but whatever, I didn't like my arms when I was overweight either!

      @@lindamcadarra402 I’m a Bee and a bit obsessed with planners. I have found that the one that works best for me is one that has both a weekly and daily layout. There are a few companies that make those: Plum Planner and Erin Condren both have A5 size daily planners that can be ordered online. If you want to look at something in person, check out the Happy Planner and Recollections at Michael’s. Happy Planner doesn’t have a daily, but their system is on discs, so you can pull in sheets from all of their different accessories so that you have a list for each day (they make half-sheet size just for this purpose). Lmk if you have any questions about planners.

    I have made your channel as well as 15 others I love, an end of the day treat, Well I allow no more than 30 minutes in the morning, tops. I also do a reverse To Do List, as I get things Accomplished I start putting them on my calendar, I have a planner I keep my achievements written do in. So if its noon and nothing , even brushing my teeth isn’t written do I know I gave to run do ghat along with today as I go. Instead of looking at a long to do list in the morning by the end of the evening I see a long list of achieved things I have done even if it’s brush your hair make the bed pick up a piece of trash off the floor it just kind of motivates me👍🏻😊

I also hover between 130 and 140, and I've stopped white knuckling it to stay below 130. I read about intuitive eating, and decided I wanted freedom -- even if it meant saying goodbye to size 4 and hello size 8. Good enough! Because I also want a donut now and then. And to not obsess. So much happier. I also ditched that scale that ruined my days. You rock!

    Speaking of Gretchen Rubin (who's lovely and well worth going to see speak/a book signing) I remember her quoting: "Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good". I used to be a perfectionist/cricket but I've learned to half-ass (and ladybug/butterfly) my way through motherhood 😂 ... It's what works for our autistic&ADHD family for now while our boy is little. He likes to use my little (water&vinegar) spray mop and an e-cloth with water too as it's so much easier - and safer - than the buckets of chemicals I used before becoming a mum! I also use my vacuum cleaner to dust - the little upholstery brush 😍 and my slow cooker makes dinner for us... All these shortcuts give me less stress and more time to play with / teach our boy instead :)

      A few separate thoughts on the topic:
      1. It’s hard with kids, because you also want them to have SOME integrity, right? You want them to try their best and care about being thoughtful by doing a good job for others.
      2. I wish I had been more willing to let my daughter help in the kitchen more and do other things she was too young to do very well, just to get her hooked on wanting to help or even to enjoy helping, even if it meant I had to fix a few things later when she wasn’t looking.
      3: I guess we can think of the half-assed as a “rough draft” and then we edit and fine-tune from there. It gets us going without overwhelming us or giving us fear of failure.

    • @pamelalucas7035

      @@jeaniedickman6421 I totally agree with you. I know that habits in childhood translate to adult habits. So I want my son's to not be half ass students or husbands or fathers or employees. It's a gentle balance between teaching them to have integrity and letting them be kids.

    As someone who has waged a lifelong battle with being over weight, the best way I’ve found to combat those urges is to not have the temptation within reach (don’t buy them in the first place). 😬 Two years ago, for health reasons, I had to go off of all processed sugar (candy, baked goods, sugary drinks). That has not been a problem because I know how much I will suffer if I have even one small indulgence. However, I still struggle with potatoes, pasta and salty snacks. I have found that portion control is my best friend. Hang in there Cas, you look great. 💝

Instead of putting each item away right away, I pull items out and place them on my countertops in the general area of where they are to go. Then I can reload the dishwasher with dirty items from my sink, and close it. One part done, then I place all clean items in there designated home. Thanks Cass for new mindset. ❤️

    I don't know who you are or why I clicked on this video. I've never heard of you or seen anything you've posted but I needed to stop this video and type this message.... I LOVE YOU! You are one of the realest people I've watched and you said a lot of the things I deal with. I really appreciate you and this video. I will be giving myself permission to do things bad so that I do SOMETHING. I have trouble with depression, anxiety and no motivation. Some days I can't make myself even get out of bed because I'm so overwhelmed at what needs to be done. After watching this video I actually fixed up my bed so I could get out of it, and I emptied the dish washer. I watched tv after that for a few hours, but I ultimately cleaned the kitchen before going back to bed. For me that is a lot. I feel so productive and excited about what I can get done tomorrow. I'm starting my TO DO list with 3 things, and will try to do a "freebee" if I have the energy afterwards. I just want to thank you for your words and how you addressed the things you talked about in this video. I will be watching more of your posts. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

    My secret to cleaning is a shot or two. I'm serious it's enough to calm my brain and dull things slightly so I can do tasks that normally cause me to be too in my head. There is nothing worse than cleaning and your brain is going a mile a minute with so many other things you need to do or stressed over. The slight buzz is enough to calm thay and its the only time I drink so if you want a drink you clean. Hahah
