Went to the park a few years ago and it looked great and was busy, on the upswing. the volunteers did a wonderful job and were so proud. Knoebels is at least saving the kiddy turtle ride and purchased a bunch of park benches as well if the latest news is to be believed.
The story of the park from 2015-19 (aka the time I primarily visited) was a interesting time and those volunteers did amazing to keep the park afloat. It's a shame what Todd Joseph has done to this park. I did see on a Facebook group of the mini Turtle going to Knoebels and I know I can trust them to preserve it for years to come
Blue streak broke my face as a kid and gave me a fear of coasters im working on getting over to this day thanks blue streak kinda sad I might never be able to go back and conquer that blue bastard as an adult
Blame that blue bastard for making you afraid in the first place. It was an incredible coaster and I had a lot of fun with it. I guess my next suggestion is trying to conquer Ravine Flyer II at waldameer
@@InsaneCoasterJunkie got that one down it helped me get over my fear of drops rode it 5 times in one day going to cedar point this Sunday wish me lucky :)
Good luck at Cedar Point Sunday. Steel Vengeance is my favorite coaster ever so I highly recommend that ride. If you have a Fast Lane Plus, you should be able to get on everything
Great Vid!!! I think you said it all. I haven't heard anything about the former Dodgem Building being used for a dance hall thing, but it wouldn't surprise me at all. Nice editing and choice of music. Thank you for making and sharing this! Best wishes, -Mark
Thanks man I saw your comment on the Facebook group! The whole vibe of the park has been damaged thanks to Todd Joseph and everything I said and edited kinda just worked itself in. I was very sad to learn that this vlog was my last visit here but I am glad people are paying attention to the video to see what he has done. Personally, I think I did a very good job handling this subject matter!
I honestly don’t know how to feel about this. I’m mad and sad at the same time about the entire situation with this park. I know people will tell me to just move on and forget about this place but that’s impossible for me to do because I’ve known this park almost my entire life. Now I’m hearing things like it’s being turned into a stupid trailer park and that all the rides are on a used ride website. It hurts me so much and it’ll be so hard to let go of one place I always made amazing memories at 😢
A wolf in sheep's clothing, purchasing the park to strip it clean of its assets, sell them off for a profit, and then likely redevelop the lakefront property into high end housing & etc And why isn't there some kind of landmark protection or zoning law for the park land in order to prevent this? Why wasn't Blue Streak itself declared a landmark? The ride dated back to the 30's! This same scenario almost took place in NYC's Coney Island, until the people voiced their outrage and new zoning laws for entertainment purposes only were enacted for the fabled beach front amusement area. As well as landmark status for certain rides & concessions (Cyclone, Wonder Wheel, Parachute Jump, Nathan's Famous, etc) there, some dating back to the 20's! The city then signed a deal with Italian ride manufacturer "ZAMPERLA" who took over operations of the amusement grounds and brought in many of their rides and coasters in addition to the legacy attractions already there. This was so successful that the city gave them a new longer lease renewal to operate. Farewell Conneaut, it was a good run.
👍 You should have suggested to the owners that they go to that working historic ride museum in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania for EXPERT advice on maintaining historic rides . I'm shocked you don't have any videos of that awesome place that most seasoned coaster enthusiasts have said it ranks in their top 5 favorite amusement parks of all time.
Shame, once was such a great park. Grew up going there, nothing was more fun than spending a day on my Grandpas boat and drinking Sunny D and riding the Blue Streak at night. I was hoping to one day take my own kids there when th ey exist, isnt looking like it :(
It's such a shame what Todd Joseph has done! My grandparents took me there for the first time when I was 15. Now I'm 21 and watching this park die before my eyes.
Yep, grew up going to the park. Took the boat there the day before I sold it due to the move, I mean there was a concert, food was decent. But its very clear the people at that bar/grill have zero interest in parks.
Ngl, I don't know how Conneaut is still operating in the slightest. I remember going there as a kid and it was run down and low attendance, how are they still going. If I could I would buy a piece of one of the rides just to have
I legit think a day admission for 5-10 dollars is way too cheap for conneaut to sustain themselves. Idlewild is only still around because it's ridiculously overpriced, it's worse of a deal than American dream, which is saying a lot.
@@InsaneCoasterJunkie To be fair Kennywood was owned by a very wealthy family for most of its existence. Always updated and maintained. Even the new company does. CLPs problem was its last few owners before the Trustees wanted it gone, as does Crawford County. It sucks. Im old enough to rmember when it was nice
I understand your concern. I actually tried cleaning the lens and not much else. I have another gopro but it's unfortunately lost. Sorry for the inconvenience

I am all for preserving rides, so I feel your pain man. But Kennywood also a lot bigger. From what I hear that park is surviving on volunteers.
After 2028, Todd Joseph is leveling the place and putting a high end trailer park on the property

@@InsaneCoasterJunkie Ok then just thought I’d share my own thoughts tho
very sad. the blue streak is in big trouble from what ive seen
Well the entire park is screwed now since Todd Joseph is closing it down for good

Such a poetic piece but unfortunately the sad reality of the park and it keeps getting worse
"Look at that smile. It wants to eat your soul for 62 cents!" 😆😆😆
Evil Todd Joseph has removed the ride and now the Flying Dutchmen owns it next to Davy Jones locker!

There getting rid of this park!? How do you know!? So far I haven't found any information about the park closing.
Todd Joseph has no interest with the amusement park anymore and wants to transform it into a trailer park
Crawford County needs a new amusement park, even if it's not on the same spot as Waldameer.
I hate to disagree with you. Waldameer is in it's own league and Crawford county doesn't need another park
@@InsaneCoasterJunkie Doh!🤦♂I meant to put Conneaut Lake at the end of the comment instead of Waldameer.

The whole park is done. He put the entire park ride lineup on a used ride site. Everything.

Bro I’m that kid from when you went on x scream blind folded I was that lil blonde
That was a terrifying ride for sure
Hey bread man 🍞 sometimes your audio was not synced with your video! You looked dubbed!

That isn't the only reason Idlewild is still around. Idlewild is owned by a pretty decent sized business that also owns Kennywood and Lake Coumpounce.
the sad but true state of our country. Todd Joseph didn't bother to make improvements, he did Kennywood -1 (-1 being deleting the entire park)
