    Good tutorial and definitely gives interest into using UE and its tools ! The house however is not looking great because of the normal or raw mesh topology ! Lot of bumps when it would have look better with only diffuse map and a low poly house 🤔. Even if UE5 can handle millions of tris it's better to keep with simplified mesh, for many cases. That's just my opinion.

    feedback to world: Im one of people who hate that type of vocal modulation - its annoying.
    Thanks for video and cant wait to see longer version on UE channel when whole later process is shown without time laps :)

      It may just be the recording area and mic. A one time volume edit in video editor would resolve that tunnel/echo.
      I think YT has tools that can do that too.

    Is it better to fly loops or to follow the shape of the building. And what would be the best way to capture really small details like gutters and complex shapes on the property so that it's photo realistic/accurate even when zoomed right in? Thanks

    this hightmap transfer tool is nice!
    i still would love to get a shrinkwrap brush as a landscape paint tool (e.g. being able to select a reference photogrametry mesh and shrink paint the landscape towarts it). one can dream :)

    This example of a photogrammetry house is of terrible quality. Hard to believe it served as an example.

    There is one step missing. Pause and manually adjust reconstruction regions before building models AND coloring.
    I can use START and do everything with the default region (always too small) or without a region (what closes models in aquariums and takes very long time).
    When I align only, set regions for each component, there is no way to continue building AND coloring all models.

    • @dyst1575
      @dyst1575 2 года назад

      Not sure to understand your comment. If you need a full process tutorial there is many on Capturing reality channel. Start is not really the best option as you won't have step by step control over your texturing settings, for exemple.

    • @Abrimaal
      @Abrimaal 2 года назад

      @@dyst1575 after align, I want to set regions and parameters, then click "continue" - to build and colorize all components. Instead of sitting a whole night and building one after one, I can simply sleep at night. Do you agree?

    • @dyst1575
      @dyst1575 2 года назад

      @@Abrimaal Then you should learn how to use scrips inside RC. I usually do align and setting box for 5 models in a single project and the script do the 100 steps left. So I can sleep, eat, do sport or anything I want as you could too ;)

    “Using 3 custom tools”….of which there is no mention or reference. This is an odd video to have posted on the Reality Capture channel. A very odd approach to a video titled “Architectural visualization” Reality Capture and Unreal Engine. Basically hey here is an example of a company who has built custom tools in UE5 In order to do architectural viz. But the tools that make it easy are actually proprietary and unavailable to you. Soo good luck 😆

    I try to follow that tutuorial but it uses to many shortcuts, the model magicaly appears in the UE , What format did you use for format, an exactly how did you imported it into the UE. It is a hard task. Can you show how you did that? I tried FBX export for the model of 30M tris and the file was like 490 Mb. That does not import properly to UE on the machine with 12GB of VRAM and 64 GB of ram. UE just crashes. so ther must be some trick here.

      Hi, you can check this tutorial, which is more educational: ruclips.net/video/kRD0rgCnOWQ/видео.html
      You can also try to simplify your model and then import into UE.

      @@CapturingReality on minute 2:11, you have what appears to be a custom tool for exporting depth map. Is this something that can be found on the marketplace or is it strictly for in-house use?

      @CapturingReality  2 года назад

      @@throstur_thor I think it is more question for Unreal Engine. I was able to find this: docs.unrealengine.com/4.26/en-US/RenderingAndGraphics/RenderToTextureTools/4/, but it is for UE4.

    Why was the capture of the house so terrible?

    • @CapturingReality
      @CapturingReality  2 года назад +2

      The model was created from video frames and not from high resolution images. The benefit is the capture speed and the processing speed of lower resolution video frames. The tradeoff is the lower quality of the mesh. Another factor is the capturing technique. Automated circular flights are much faster than manually flying the drone much closer to the house and taking details shots, but the tradeoff is the lower quality of the mesh. It depends on what you need, and RealityCapture offers the tools to achieve that goal.

      @@CapturingReality It's evident that you're struggling to grasp the essence of your own product, as displayed in prior answers with other commenters. The intention behind requesting a link to the plugin was different from what seems to have been conveyed. However, the provided link in the above comment from you directs to the Reality Capture application, which is not the subject of the video in question. The video distinctly showcases a plugin - a point that most individuals in the comments section are relentlessly inquiring about. From what I can discern, it's apparent that some individuals commenting on the post, who are likely part of the Reality Capture marketing or sales team, don't seem to fully understand the concept.
      As far as I comprehend, this plugin is designed to automatically generate a height map from photogrammetry data and seamlessly apply it to a terrain mesh within Unreal Engine. Please correct me if I'm mistaken. Has this plugin been unleashed for public use? A response that clarifies this matter would be greatly appreciated.
