I like how you illustrated the reason as to why it's important to hold the cane gently bit firmly, by getting jabbed in the stomach while you were demonstrating. I will remember the lesson now. Merci.
A great demonstration of using a long white cane. I got jabbed and the handle hit a healing wound. Then, a couple of days later, I fell drown (launched) three stairs. I landed on my elbows and knees. I had an O and M lesson a couple of days later and had a lot of confidence. Then, I went back to work and have not trusted the cane. I think that I use my sight too much and do not concentrate. I stopped practicing this summer. , As it has been over 100 degrees.
Commit to the cane. Keep your head up. Use your vision for orientation. You’re vision is no longer able to help you avoid obstacles and keep you safe. Thats scary, but is ok. It is much safer for your physical self to embrace the cane. Good work!!
