I said “Plug it in, Emmy” out loud and my mom asked if I was talking to the RUclips, lol
LOL!!! 😆
It's become endearing at this point. Will Emmy remember to plug it in, or not, lol!
@@louisejohnson6057 it’s her schtick
@@lemonz1769 , exactly.
Lmao
I'm gluten intolerant and blended oats are my favorite wheat replacement. They're cheap and have a nice texture. Highly recommend to my fellow gluten free people!
Do you mean as a flour replacement?
Oats usually aren't gluten free, are you using the gluten free kind specifically?
@@johannesstephanusroos4969 I'm assuming they are. Otherwise they wouldn't say they're gluten intolerant lmao.
@@johannesstephanusroos4969 Oats don't naturally contain gluten but some GF people are sensitive to them. They're also subject to cross-contamination with wheat products unless they're specifically labelled as gluten free. Quaker Oats and Bob's Red Mill have gluten free oats, which means there was no cross-contamination at any point in the harvesting/packaging process.
@@positivepossum13 Specifically wheat flour, yes.
Omg that oil in the spoon so the honey comes out easily is brilliant!
Yay!!!💫
I KNOW, RIGHT! Everyone is talking about the cakes, which I am undoubtedly going to try!, yet I am fixated on the honey trick! STELLAR! 🔥👍🤯😍
You can also use the baking spray. Such a wonderful tip!
I was so amazed like has it never occurred to me to do that lol
Or, immerse the spoon in hot water before using it for honey.
I used to do something similar to this for my picky toddler, except I would blend my oats in a vitamix and put the home made oat flour in the freezer. Then I would just scoop out a little at a time and make oat flour chocolate mug cakes in the microwave for my little one. Super quick and healthier than store bought cakes. Sometimes I would even sneak in mashed black beans into the batter 😉
Nice! I like the idea of having oat flour at the ready.
In Denmark we have something called "Havregrynskugler" (Oat grain balls). It was created in 1943 as a way to make something sweet in an easy way during the WWII. It doesn't require any cooking or electricity. They are popular around christmas, but can be eaten any time of the year.
250 gram of oats
150 gram of powdered sugar
50 gram of unsweeten cocoa powder
150 gram butter, soft but not melted.
1 or 2 tablespoons of liquid, can be water, coffee, juice, rum, whisky, pisang ambon, amaretto, etc.
Coconut flour, not too finely grind.
Mix all ingredients in a bowl except coconut flour. Roll (in your hands) into small balls at a the approx. size of a pingpong ball. Then cover with coconut flour - easily done on a plate.
Enjoy.
Thank you for this!
Sounds kind of similar to our "No Bake Cookies" here in the USA!
Sounds pretty much exaclty like swedish chokladbollar.
Thank you for sharing this, Herr Meistermann!
I thought this sounded just like Swedish chokladbollar, and did some research. It seems likely that havregrynskugler came first and that the recipe traveled north the same year (14 December 1943) to a Swedish news article where it was also marketed as a Christmas treat, even though we don't associate them with Christmas at all nowadays. Here, it's a huge staple in every day fika-culture, and instead of options of different kinds of liquids, we always use coffee when making chokladbollar. We roll them in coconut flakes or nib sugar most commonly.
Would it be an Emmymade video if Emmy didn't forget to plug in her appliance or turn on the power strip? Nope, it sure as heck wouldn't!!! EVERYTIME Emmy, Eeeeverytime! ❤️🤣🤣🤣❤️
Amennnnnnnnnnnnnnn 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣😂
CONGRATS on your Quaker Oats sponsorship!! How awesome is that?! The chocolate one looked amazing definitely gonna give it a try❤
Yessss, one of my favorite quick desserts is to just get a bunch of oats, some peanut butter, an egg or two and some brown sugar. Mix it all up and spoonful a bunch on a tray. They come out as big soft cookies that remind me of cake and cookie at the same time.
Really good 😋
i do a savory version, like a lil oat bread, every morning in one of those little round tiny frying pans for eggs. i do 1 full tblsp oats, 1 egg, a tblsp of water, a teasp of baking powder and a pinch of salt. fry in very low burner, turn it when first side is done, add cheese to the top side, turn it again for a cheese crust. a ma zing. ❤️
I love that you make a point to foster independence in your children. I have some friends who at 20 years old can't cook for themselves 🙃
Thank you. It makes kiddos (and adults) feel so good when they see what they can do.
I think all kids need to learn to cook, swim, ride a bike, change a tire and know how to handle money.
My mom put me in the kitchen at age 12. I think scrambled eggs were my 1st lesson.
Thing was, I did NOT want to learn to cook.
But, my mom made me because she said when I got older and out on my own, I'll need to cook for myself.
See, I don't really eat out much. I grew up with fresh veggies and fruits from the garden from both sets of grandparents.
On my mom's side, they had a hen house. And, they hunted, too. Deer mostly.
Anyway, after learning the basics, eventually I LOVED cooking and baking.
I even create my own dishes.
I've been cooking and baking for almost 34 years now.
I even went to school to hone my skills to learn catering.
I was the same way with books. I hated to read but my mom said to give it a try anway.
The book that ignited my love of reading was the "Boxcar Children"
Then at 15, I started writing short stories. Then poems. Then novels.
Eventually, I became a published author with a library of over 1,600 books.
Weird that the 2 things I hated to do the most would end up being my passions.
Yes! My first dish I made by myself was classic bananas foster, including the brandy on fire! With mom supervision of course. I was about 8 at the time. I loved watching Food Network growing up, and my mom really fostered in all 3 of us kids a love of all kinds of food and cooking. I cook at least 5 days a week for my family.
This is very common nowadays and it's sad. Many people in my generation don't know much about cooking at all. The only reason I know how is because I went vegetarian at 19 and wanted to learn how to cook some of my own meals so I took the pressure off my mom (I still lived at home; there was no reason to move as the college was 4 miles away). I did learn a little bit growing up but never liked it much.
I feel like kids are expected to learn things on their own nowadays because of the Internet. Not right. It's really a bonding moment to teach them how to do household things. "Just RUclips it." But I have questions and there aren't always answers on the internet.
@@lazyhippie6139 for some of us, either we both work or we don’t have food. So yeah, it’s hard to work 8 or 12 hours on the line, then stand another hour or 2 making a scratch meal. Having both parents work is the reality for a lot of people now.
I love your little tips while cooking! I will be using the bit of oil in a measuring spoon one!
Yay! So glad you find them helpful.
Yesss! I was so excited to learn that one.
Looks good. Thanks for sharing. Might have to try it.
My grandma used to put chopped carrots , walnuts and honey in a jar and place it in the fridge . She would give us kids a spoon every morning and said it helped us to not get sick . Don’t know how true that is but we never got sick and it was delicious !!! We looked forward to it every morning ❤️
Love it Emmy! Thank you ! Thank you! I 'll try right away
Oh Emmy this looks delicious! Thanks for another soothing foodie video to enjoy 🥰

Thank you for the cozy video, and the interesting recipe

This is a great treat for breastfeeding moms! The oats help your milk supply a ton and you could customize with other milk making ingredients!
Emmy, I have been watching your videos for years. Thank you for making me laugh, tasty recipes and your sweet personality. God bless 💜💜
You're so welcome and thanks for sticking with me through the years.
Loved this idea 💡
What a yummy looking cake. Got to try this
Sounds delicious!
Looks delicious 😋 thanks so much for the great recipe 🥳😊🌷👍
My favorite combo is to use chocolate and coconut, and just a touch more honey... I've been "blender-ing" my oats for years, then mixing and cooking on stove top or in microwave. 😉 I've also used the pulverized oats in place of some of my AP flour in muffins and quick breads!
LOVE this! We all can use more healthy grains in our diet! And (for me) oats are one of the tastiest grains. They also lend themselves so amazingly well to a variety of flavor profiles. Can't wait to add these recipes into my family's favorites.
I always have my oats with dates and peanut butter.... I can see that working super well with baked oats!!
That sounds yummy.
Just so happens I have dates, oatmeal and PB.

I was thinking about trying this for breakfasts and I’m very happy to see a true review
I just got diagnosed with celiac disease a couple months ago, it's been hard but I'm so excited to try out this recipe!!!
I was just thinking this would be a good recipe to suggest to my celiac family member! I'm curious if it would work as an easy muffin like substitute. She was diagnosed as a baby, so doesn't really miss bread products, but I imagine it would be nice for when she has friends over or just for something different.
If you don't already follow them, Pailin Chongchitnant has a recipe for gluten free coconut cookies for coffee and tea called Kanom Ping, and Beryl Shereshewsky did a video a few weeks ago with Ugandan fried banana pancakes made with cassava flour.
I hope you like it. 🤗
Yes, a muffin tin works great. Just use cupcake liners for easy clean-up and removal.
I love that oiled spoon/ honey trick! 🍯 Genius, will be using it. Thanks Emmy 🥰
The drop of oil in the honey measuring spoon is pure genius, you've just saved me so much time! Also the oats look amazing. I wonder if it would work with instant oatmeal. Thanks for sharing, Emmy!
It works great. Especially if you need to measure molasses. That stuff is extremely sticky.
Sometimes, I use cooking spray if I need to measure syrupy liquids in a glass measuring cup.
@@anakelly76512 So smart! The cooking spray is a great tip

Yummy those look absolutely delicious
Recipes like these are always so fun to do! Next time you do it, try using whipped egg whites and adding some melted butter. It keeps them light and moist.
I tried and succeeded in making those 2 ingredients bagels on my channel!! Yum!! And this looks interesting as well

This is definitely a recipe I’m going to try! We make overnight oats a few days a week and this would be a nice change with similar ingredients! Yum!
The after dinner mints of these videos are so funny. Sometimes it’s a burp and other times she’s an action hero with spoons!
I love that you love hearing from your fans. I love when you respond to me. I love your occasional Monday videos. And I loved my birthday Cameo a few months back. We're so honored to know you and experience life with you.
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed your Cameo.
I absolutely LOVE oatmeal! However, I’ve never tried baked oats before! 😍
You can find recipes where you bake them whole, and others where you grind them up like this, and both are great! And super easy. You can even make pancakes out of oats, very similar to this recipe.
Im gonna make these very soon!
I was just thinking about finding a recipe for baked apple and cinnamon oats this morning: perfect timing here!
yep gonna try this
I do something similar but in the microwave: 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/4 cup milk (can use nut milk), around 3T of sugar or sweetener (I usually use four packets of Splenda, which is slightly more than that, but close enough), and 1/2 tsp of baking powder. If the oatmeal isn't fine enough I grind it first. The entire thing can be mixed in the cup in which it's "baked." I then put it in the microwave for 60-90 seconds. I frequently like to put a little ice cream on top (sugar free in my case). I frequently add stuff like the chips and cocoa powder, vanilla extract, or powdered ginger (or a combo of powdered and fresh) and pumpkin pie spice.
You don't want to use eggs in the microwave because stuff comes out rubbery. For the record, yes, it comes out like cake.
That looks delicious, a must make. I like the overnight oats bowls as well, with oats, chia, honey and plain yogurt
TY Emmy, I’m gluten free and traveling in the RV. How easy, simple, delicious, and healthy. Yay!
thanks for reminding me I can use oats to bake with too! Had to go gluten free to ease gastro symptoms and this is a godsend! :)
This looks like something I can make on a Sunday and eat for breakfast through the week. We are always in a mad dash in the morning lol
Great for lunchbox dessert & sneaking in something kinda healthy!
These sound AMAZING!!! The Morning Glory sounds the best to me. I'd bake these on the weekend and put on the refrigerator. Just a pop in the microwave and my family has a healthy breakfast that can be (and often is) on the go!!
I love doing baked oats! It's so customizable
Thanks Emmy. Love oatmeal!😍🍫 It's great in meatloaf instead of bread or crackers too😉
A Monday video? Heck yeah!
Bonus!
I love Oatmeal and cream of wheat! So yummy! Really sticks with you also. If I eat a pop tart or even toast and jam I find I'm hungry again really soon, but a big bowl of Oatmeal will easily carry me 4 or 5 hours.
Awesome! I do something similar in making a healthy cookie, 1 mashed banana, 1 c oats, any flavorings & yummies you want to add. Make drop cookies, bake 15 mins @ 350F. Makes 18-20 small. Vegan friendly. Use quick oats or soak old fashioned for 2 mins & drain. One of my favorite flavors combos is maple/date/pecan! I also love making chocolate oatmeal pie. It's scrumptious! I grew up on Quaker oats! Thanks for sponsoring Emmymade!
I'm liking this recipe! I want to make all of them. I like all of them
I made these and they just came out of the oven! Thank you
Just got ingredients to make some of these. Saw them on TikTok at first, happy to know they're the real deal now. Also, that oil in the measuring spoon for the honey.. game changer.
I’m convinced at this point, Ms. Emmy *forgetting* is a total bit, and I’m 100% here for it! LOL 😂
Thank you. I have been wondering if these baked oats recipes tasted good. Know I think I will give them a try. ☺😋
Enjoyed watching this video👍
I've been doing baked oatmeal for a while. My recipe starts with ground old fashion oats and also has egg, vanilla and milk. I use unsweetened apple sauce as my base fruit and go from there . I make many versions and love them all!
Thanks, I looked though all these comments wondering if I could use applesauce instead. I like bananas but never buy them as they seem to always get wasted. But I always have apples and applesauce on hand!
Love that you leave the oopses in
This is a great budget breakfast. I’ll be making this today.
That chocolate one is a brownie!!! Yay- all of these look wonderful!

this looks so easy and tasty (going to have to try it savory)! i'll be making this with ''flax egg'' as i'm allergic.
emmy, thank you for showing us this!
How did it go with the flax egg? Was looking for a vegan 🌱 alternative in the comments. 😃
It works fine with a flax egg! And I think, even better for you.
@@danickale8469 The flax egg will work, and substitute maple syrup or dates for the honey. Give it a try!
@@shariwelch8760 I tried it with a vegan egg 🥚 replacer and maple syrup. Unfortunately, I tried to cook it in the air fryer, for reasons unknown 🤦🏻♀️. It still tasted good but was more like a bread pudding consistency…. 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😏

2:30 your involuntary lovely running gag. 😂💕
That chocolate one looked delicious! And when you said about having a banana languishing around somewhere I laughed because I just threw away some old nasty bananas! Lol!
Right?! We always seem to have a lone banana waiting to be made into something.
The bananas weren't salvageable at all?
I use mushy bananas for banana nut bread.
I can't eat really ripe bananas out of hand though. I like them a tad under ripe.
Ana Kelly they were pretty squishy!
@@anakelly76512 I hate forgetting about any food, so much. I get so angry with myself even though it's rare. Some people have the luxury to not be bothered by food waste, but many don't. And some don't know what it's like to go hungry.
@@krissyscott4327 those are PERFECT for banana bread. I don't understand how people can make it with firm bananas; over-ripe ones have so much more flavor and sweetness..
This is one I'll definitely try because I've got a LOT of porage oats in the cupboard (the company I get my organic stuff from has a "surprise, surprise" option and you get something that you don't know what it is going to be until it arrives. I have 2 on each order and can't eat oats that fast, but this looks like a great way to use some up), but I'm going to swap out the banana for mango because although I like bananas I don't like then in things or stuff that tastes like them. I'll let you know how it goes.
Perfect timing. Me and y family eat porridge every day and we’re getting a bit bored! Definitely going to try
The trick to get honey out of the spoon was so stinkin' smart!!
Looks like a nice school lunchroom item. Nice video
Thank you!
Nearly everyday for breakfast I eat either old fashioned oats (cooked and warm) mixed with a few spoonfuls of peanut butter and a banana or mixed with a few spoonfuls of almond butter, cinnamon, and a banana. The later tastes like banana bread but no added sugar! So yummy! Sometimes I’ll use sour apple slices instead of a banana just to change it up and that’s pretty good too.
I make baked oats almost daily. I love them!😊
Ran out of flour before so I used oat for over half of my muffins batter and it turns out good...now I know I can actually substitute with oat in full ......nice sharing :)
I don’t know why, but it’s satisfying watching you eat 😂
Honestly there should be a bingo board for your videos. You forgetting to plug in or turn on something, you saying 'so stinkin' delicious', your camera focusing on a labelled thing in the background a bunch of other Emmymade tropes, and a free square - itadakimasu!
It wouldn’t be Emmy if the power wasn’t on for the equipment!! LOL 😂
🤦🏻♀️For reals.
So...when I was pregnant with my first child, all I craved was oatmeal. Let me tell you my favorite way to make it. First, simmer a box of raisins in a pot for about 40 minutes. Set aside to cool. Strain the raisin juice, add an ice cube, to make sure juice is cold. Oatmeal cooked starting in cold water is creamier than adding oats to boiling water. Measure desired amount of juice for how many servings you make, a single box of raisins is about two servings. Put juice in pan, add a pinch of salt, cinnamon, and cloves, add oats, I like the longer cooking oats than instant. Slowly bring to boil, stirring constantly until cooked. Then fold in the cooked raisins. I do not use milk, but do add a pat of butter and tablespoon of sugar. Done. Now, if you add baking powder, a tablespoon of flour, and an egg, it would make muffins! But this recipe is the best of all the oatmeal recipes I’ve cooked.
Going to make these for sure...I also make a banana breads with oat flour...it's really tasty.
omg emmy! i'm thinking apple cinnamon ones, some with cookies and cream with oreo bits, and orange cranberry combo (with orange juice, zest and cranberries) thank you so much !!!
