Back in the day. I got to see White Lion open for KISS !~ killer show. Afterward Mike came out, freshly showered. Long trech coat and watched KISS do their set.
For those people bagging Mike's vocals, remember he is 63 years old. Show me a vocalist from the Genre that can still hit the same notes at that age as they could in the 80's? Jovi? - nope! Vince Neil? - nope!
Oh, my god! What a wonderful surprise it was listening to The Gathering open the show. I absolutely love it. At the end of the day, there are three Freak On Nature former members on the stage ;)
Mike sounds just as good as anyone of the other front men for the 80's glam metal bands who are all pushing towards their 70's! Stop comparing these bands to what they were in 1980s!
Mike has said he hated his singing in the 80’s! Age does play some part in it but when you have around James pushing 70, (before he died) sounding as great as he did in the 70’s & 80’s! Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson & many others sound great today, just shows how taking care of the vocals is important!
@@GNewcomb-q9v Halford is using backing tracks now, he sounds uhhh lets just say 70 when the track are not on( all the screams are 100% tracks now). If you listen to him 10 yrs ago he sounds nothing like he did in 1985 and all of a sudden he sounds better then ever at 70? No, backing tracks which is fine but that is what it is and if his fans are ok with it, then power to them asnd to be honest Halford started losing it by the Screaming for vengeance tour and if you go back and listed to riding on the wind live in 83 and now, you would say he sounds 10x better and even better then the studio version which is all 2024 technology lol. Dickinson is just a rare breed but he is starting to fade a bit to. And if your referring to Ronnie James Dio, he did not sound good at all the last 10 yrs he was alive as compared to what he was and that's easy to see right on youtube in his live performances and he was a nostalgia like everyone else,. Father time always wins!
The guitarist had to go through extensive practice, as he needed to learn all the chords and solos in the original tuning. Afterward, he had to play them using lower chords and frets, which can be quite challenging and confusing.
The main PUNCH IN THE NOSE KILLER LOW E STRING RIFF is missing from CRY FOR FREEDOM. I never KNEW all these decades that WAS the only guitar solo in the entire song! So, the solo in this performace is totally made up? Someone help me please!
This isn’t White Lion! Mike won’t do that band again but he will ride that bands coattails! It doesn’t sound good because this is how Mikes always wanted these songs to sound! He has stated many times he hated to hear his vocals back in the day!
@@GNewcomb-q9v Mike is wrong. He should embrace the 80's WL sound and stop talking bad about Vito. Being in a band is not a life sentence and Vito had every right to quit the music business to focus on his family. Just like Mike had the right to continue with his career and attempt to resurrect the WL name with scab players.
It’s how Mikes always wanted them to sound! In several interviews, he has admitted to hating how his vocals sounded back then! To show you how age really isn’t a fact but caring for the vocals are, Rob Halford ‘ Bruce Dickinson still bring it to every show! Even Brian Johnson who is older that Halford still sounds good!
I am a huge White Lion fan and I appreciate what Mike is attempting to do but these are the sort of things that happen to bands or band members when they age and the rent needs to be paid, right? If there are fans who are going to buy a ticket then you cannot blame him for booking a concert. Not the WL we all remember but Mike seems happy where he is with his career and so let's all wish him luck!
Doesn’t want to ever do White Lion but he sure as hell wants to profit off the bands fame! The guy has always hated his White Lion vocals, so he needs to pick a style of music that fits his preferred style! No respect for Mike but all respect for the man that actually made White Lion sound good, Vito!
It sounds too washed down… Mike would be better off just finding a pianist to play with an orchestra set….his voice can’t handle the notes from his 80s days…..
This is how Mike has always wanted to sing! He admitted in several interviews he hated hearing himself back then! Mike is one I lost all respect for! He claims White Lion is done but he goes out & re-records White Lion song on two albums now! He plays White Lion songs on the majority of his other tours! The guy is a hypocrite!

Mike and the band sounds awesome 🤘
Guitar player is really good !

~Fantastic show, the band was 🔥👊

The dude from Firehouse...RIP. Also, Sammy Hagar.

I can’t find pictures on line of Mike and Marcus from FON era?

Audio straight from the mixing desk is pretty flat. Needs some room ambience and crowd noise.
I love Mike's humor😂
wow

definitely hard👏
Freakin nightmare
Mike still sings great! ☯
Nope!
Good but hearing d song very low is something different
What kind of video codec is it with? I can not play the video on my media player, the audio works though...
Cant get past the casio drums.... And the whole performance aounds like one long song...tuned down and very washy
Hungry is no more on the setlist?
I think he's singing those songs an octave lower.

When was this???? Where???
where was this show ?
Says "CJ's Backstage" behind them. Could probably find out where that is with a web search.
St Petersburg Florida, Sept. 21 2024.... I think? I need a setlist to confirm.
IMO white lion tuned down a whole step just doesn’t sound right to my ears

Yea, I thought my hearing was going. Way to bizarre. Like I’m on a psychedelic trip.

Not the songs that I like. Way too different from the originals. They played it well on stage. But nah...
These 80's guys are all pushing near their 70's and not gonna sound like 1985 anymore, enjoy it for what it is at this point in time!

The digital drums and amps sound artificial. Like something my on a PC.
Ayu Azhari
Not good. 💯
KARAOKE COVER BAND YUCK. NOT EVEN CLOSE
If its official you need to do a better job. The sound is not good.😮
Who was responsible for the audio?
Awfull!
