Michael Palin is what I call a 'Diamond Geezer'. I grew up in the 1960s and as a kid I sneaked down into the living room to watch Monty Python on the B&W TV set. He made me the person I am today. An absolute Gumby! 🙂 God bless you, Michael.

While the humor of many comics is rooted in depression and other dark areas of the human psyche, the humor of Michael Palin comes from him having fun at doing what he does and we are all better because of it.

One of the many things I love about the fish slapping dance is during the close two shot. I I suppose technically it's a wide "over the shoulder" of Michael, but you can clearly see that John is trying to keep it together as Mikey dances up and back, flicking his cheeks. Honestly, everything about that sketch is perfect, from the costuming to the music, Michael's gay little dance... it's perfectly silly, which is really the essence of Monty Python.

The greatest of the Pythons, and I love them all. I was lucky enough to work with Graham for a day in the early 80s, and even in the presence of this absolute hero of mine, I couldn't help but talk a bit about Michael Palin...to which Graham smiled and quite agreed. Many millions of people have talked about how the Beatles changed their lives, but for me it was the Pythons more than anything else. Irreverence and kindness are truly sacred qualities.

Love this man so much! I always thought from the Python days that he was funny and handsome, but what's so great is that he's also a terrific actor. He's done some 'straight' roles in smaller movies that I really loved. A Fish Called Wanda is one of my favorite films. And casting him as one of the villains in Brazil is still one of the most brilliant bits of casting I think ever done, because you can't ever imagine him being villainous as himself, but he absolutely nails it!
His travel programs are always a great go-to to watch when I'm feeling sick - Around the World, Pole to Pole, even the one in North Korea. He's so likable and can make anything entertaining.

An exceptional documentary about an extraordinarily multi-talented and truly gifted
human being!!! Michael Palin is without
question a national treasure for the U.K.
and clearly embodies some of the finest
qualities and traits anyone could desire to
have. His comedic wit helped make
Monty Python’s Flying Circus , the resounding
success it was. The films and documentaries
he was involved with thereafter, showed how
broad based his talents actually were. His
travel log documentaries were equally as
incredible, as his comedic and dramatic
works were. The world has been enriched by this man and his many extraordinary achievements,
on both the little screen and the big screen!
Very much enjoyed seeing his work showcased
in this comprehensive documentary. I am sure
all of us have enjoyed his performances over the
years, encompassing so many different genres.
Thank you for providing us with a look back at all
Michael Palin has given us over so many years.
He has enriched all our lives, with everything he
has done. Hopefully , he will continue to
grace us with his talent for years to come!
