Maybe my al Oudh bottle needs to macerate more though.
I'm a carpenter by trade. To me this one just smells like a sweet sappy wood that has been cut on a circular saw that has scorched on the blade a little with lots of vanilla. Probly not selling it much as it sounds a bit weird lol, but it's a smell that I love. I get great performance too probably around 10 hours.
Ideal for winter in UK the blast of the first spray is of synthetic notes slightly noisy but after 15 minutes it moves close to skin, the scent is comforting & draws people nearer if only to know what your wearing yeah it's slighty different BTF as a lot more smokiness to it & more smoother

If a documentary came out we'd be blown away about how many things are rebranded. For instance I do work at a packaging company. You be surprised about how much corporations go to one company for the same item and just rebrand it with their name. I'm taking big company's we see in Walmart or target or even items for major hospitals..... I say all that to say these fragrances are mass produced by company's who probably do other houses too... all it takes is a little twist or if someone request better ingredients with the same formulation then boom they can mark the price up 150% more than other brands. Slap a label call it "niche" and the price is valid lol

All the skankiness/oudiness goes away and all that remains at the mid and drydown is the By The Fireplace. A bit less dry and smoky, which is good for me because it makes it even more mass appealing. Gotta love this one. With two sprays on my hand I got 8-9 hours! Enjoy 💪🏻
From when he said this a B.O. i knew not to trust his nose. This fragrance has a very sweet slightly spicy vibe. The opening doesn't have a strong Chemical opening at all. I can't even say thats just his opinion. Its simply not true people. People be careful of these fragrances reviewers. They can steer you so wrong when its a solid cheapie regardless of how close in scent it is to Maison Margella Replica.

Idk if I’d compare it to B.O. but there is a sort of funkiness in this scent, like a dank, swampy kind of woodiness. But maybe I’m just not used to middle eastern notes and accords. As for it being a clone of By The Fireplace, I agree with this guy as well - It’s similar, but I wouldn’t call it a clone. BTF blew me away when I first smelled it. I couldn’t believe it, it was like taking a whiff of roasted s’mores over a campfire right there in front of me. Super gourmand imo. I don’t get that with the Lattafa at all. It’s more like a sweet burning incense smokiness than a forest-y campfire kind of smokiness.

I agree, on paper it smells okay a very obv smoke and damp wood note and the usual strong alcohol for first min or so. Im used to these middle eastern fragrances opening with that strong alcohol smell now, and found that you have to be patient and give them time to develop and when they do BOOM they bang!! I totally agree with you on skin the smoke drops off a fare bit as cumin is the a strong note until mid /dry down then it settles along side smoke nutty oud but find i keep getting little wisps of bo scent catching the nose every now and then from that cumin note I also get a little floral note too maybe it's just off my skin tho

Now a new day is here. Lattafa is just going nuclear with these. I have Asad, I have Oud For Glory, and Qaa'ed. Those right there are just sooo close. I am so OCD, and picky when it comes to clones. And not many do it. Like Armaf with thier take on Aventus, Club De Nuit Intense Man Parfum that is 98%. Asad is 90%>Oud For Glory is 98%.

Yeah I agree, this isn't one of the best of the house. Try Nakahat al oud, it's the best I've tried from the house and it's not a clone, it's oud patchouli amber done very nicely.
I've had this for about a year and smelling it side by side on skin as I write this🤔 To me it's a real light version of BTFP a super casual Fall/Winter scent. On skin its pretty synthetic and I agree about that little off putting note, but it tones down after a while. The scent trail is better than off skin. BTFP on the other hand is super rich and creamy marshmallow smoky beast and a monster projector off my skin. Grab this for quick errands grab the OG when you want to make a statement and have the ladies sniff your neck all night👍🏼
Man I've had 2 bottles of the Margiela and I swear unless I'm tripping it just doesn't perform well. Unless it's just a really close to the skin scent. I'm actually in the market for a clone that projects more

I don't go heavy on the sprays, but I do hit my cloths and when I do I can smell it for weeks on sweaters kinda like BR540 the scent lingers on cloths for weeks kinda crazy I sprayed it near my wrist onetime and for some reason it clinged like a MOFO to my Gshock strap and was able to pick it up days later. Not sure what to tell you either your Anosmic to the scent, your skin just soaks up the scent or possible you got duped if you didn't get them retail. Give this one a try maybe you'll like it better, but to me it's about 85-90% light version of BTFP in the air not on skin too synthetic. BTW I've taken two showers since I sprayed both side by side and BTFP is still lingering on my forearm 🤣🤷♂️ pick it up it's way cheaper now than when I snagged it and let me know your thoughts on it👍🏼

Maybe you need to go heavy on the sprays although I did that one time at an outside Pre Rona fall party maybe 35-40 temps and even then I was projecting too much bad call LMAO!! Maybe you don't smell it, but I guarantee other people can. Have you tried Stronger with you absolutely is pretty good minus the 🚬 You can also layer it with Demeter Marshmallow Perfume for like $18 bucks and too be honest more versatile. Lastly maybe layer BTFP with Molecule 01 or alternative Iso E Super scent/oil either spray or mixing in your palms like aftershave maybe then you'll be able to pick it up more plus you'll have to scrub it off for sure 🤣👍🏼

By The Fireplace = sweet smoky wood with cloves that dries down to sweet vanilla and roasted marshmellows/smores/chestnuts. Drydown lasts forever on clothes. Spray on a scarf or other piece of clothing and leave it at a friend's place. Trust me, they'll smell it when they walk by and want to sniff it. Ameer Al Oudh = lighter fluid with caramel/toffee and incense that dries down to a pleasant sweet middle eastern woodiness. Opening can be a lot at first until you get used to it. BTF's middle eastern cousin if you will. I like them both, very cozy smelling. Currently I prefer smelling AAO tbh.
As much as I agree with most of your recommendations this Latafa smells nothing like by the fireplace it smells really synthetic that I had to wash my arm and gave the bottle to my son and he hated it too.

To me this is smells like old damp wooden furniture and someone spilled some caramel sugar all over it.Its very woody and i see some similarities but this is noway by the fireplace clone. By the fireplace is just dope.Get the real thing guys i own both but this is good for fall and winter.This smells really expensive and good, its dry down is awesome. By the fore is very smokey and this is whats missing in this one. This could be a sweeter brother of the original. This one has no smokiness but if if there was then it could be 100%.
Definitely a harshness to the synthetic oud. But stuff lasts forever on me. I use it for layering and it outlasts anything I put on top. Couple of Lattafas that have popped up like Mohra and Asad that I'd love to get your opinion on Cuba. Very little info on them.
Lattafa velvet oud is another beautiful scent with its tom ford tuscan leather vibe BUT... even better still..get your nostrils round Al haramain's Amber oud tobacco edition a beautiful sweet warm honey, with fresh juicy tobacco vanilla scent that will make you just want to sniff yourself all dayy long 🔥🐝🍯🌱🍂

By the fire place is one of my top jawns and they do smells the same once they dry down I was upset I grab this after smelling how good it was

Ameer Al Oudh = lighter fluid with caramel/toffee and incense that dries down to a pleasant sweet middle eastern woodiness. Opening can be a lot at first until you get used to it. BTF's middle eastern cousin if you will.

As much as I agree with most of your recommendations this Latafa smells nothing like by the fireplace it smells really synthetic that I had to wash my arm and gave the bottle to my son and he hated it too.

Not a close clone in my opinion. By the Fireplace actually smells more leathery/cattle when you smell it next to Ameer al Oudh. al Oudh is nice in its own right, but more sweet to me.

To me this is smells like old damp wooden furniture and someone spilled some caramel sugar all over it.Its very woody and i see some similarities but this is noway by the fireplace clone. By the fireplace is just dope.Get the real thing guys i own both but this is good for fall and winter.This smells really expensive and good, its dry down is awesome. By the fore is very smokey and this is whats missing in this one. This could be a sweeter brother of the original. This one has no smokiness but if if there was then it could be 100%.
Definitely a harshness to the synthetic oud. But stuff lasts forever on me. I use it for layering and it outlasts anything I put on top. Couple of Lattafas that have popped up like Mohra and Asad that I'd love to get your opinion on Cuba. Very little info on them.

This is NOT EVEN close as far as a clone is concerned. Id say maybe .....60 percent... smells ok.......but its 20 to 30 bucks.
I bought this & it smells like medicine, too sweet for my taste, it was ablind buy so i regret buyng it, ADVICE: NEVER! NEVER! buy any product with out testing it out first dont do blind buyes
