Title music: Dance Distinction - Sebastien Greenberg
Yay!! Woodle got his music back.
"How did I fall into my own zombie trap?"
Woodle is clearly unaware of his capacity for muppetry.
Or rather, how could he _not_ fall for his own trap.
Yes, JW at the bottom of the pit, on fire, with broken legs. lol
Hopefully Josh sees this but for anyone who wants this concept to work as originally intended with the one road barrier pushing them off I've found the 2 blocks that makes it work. Start the path with 1/2 cube blocks as normal and build the straight road barrier along the top of it and when you add the hook on the end immediately change the path underneath the hooked end from 1/2 cube to 'wedge narrow low' blocks and complete the rest of the path to you with them. Then build a wall along the top of the 'wedge narrow low' blocks with 'pole plates'. They differ slightly in thickness which creates the tiniest lip that can be walked along so they consider it a viable path but the single hooked end pushes them too far over to walk along the lip and they just fall immediately every single time
Hi, this is fun to watch. Zombies will path across a pole but fall off of it, often without any help. So a pole might work perfectly for being nudged off. Their balance is altered when they walk across a round pole. Also a centered vertical 1/8th block (hanging) - they think they can path across them, but anything will knock them off in between. If you're cheesing anyway... :)
Nice work! Also, I appreciate how you show the whole process. I think we get more out of seeing how zombies behave with different blocks than just being told to use a certain one. This is a solid design !!
As far as stopping cops exploding, the only thing I've seen work reliably is barbed wire or electric fences, but I don't think it would be worth the trouble and effort to add them to the pit. Or...maybe add them above the pit so they hit them on the way down?
I'm thinking if you spaced it out just right, an angled chute from the player to the pit would be great for tossing pipe bombs/grenades on them from for a bit of XP.
When the pressure of a horde night is not squeezing the woodles noodle in game - he truly shines are a damn genius! Bravo
What ya need is a block like Netherack.
oooh hang on.
Campfire, under a metal railing, would that work ?
You have good eyes on you JaWoodle! - love watching you faf about.
I made a standard killing corridor, with this setup straight after I heard you mention it in Infection.
1/2 block for the walkway continued until the drop point. - after this you continue the walkway with corner posts 1/4 across to your nest.
on top of the 1/2 block you place the normal Road Railing from the start of the walkway to the drop point. finish up with the road railing end.
this keeps the Zombies on a very strait Conga line all the way to the drop point.
Works like a charm :)
My mates and me are doing a darkness falls run and I looted a “jawoodle purple dye” and I lost it and screamed in excitement because I had no idea that was added to the mod and I then had to explain why I was so excited. One of my mates loves purple too so now my mission it to get him a full set of your dyes.
Welcome to patch note predictions with JaWoodle!
Cautius Pancake has a video on zombie rage. if you build the path that is 11 blocks away when they fall they runback around without going into destroy everything. It's great for building killing corridors. Edit: oooo Just had a thought as the crucible started working...Use 3x3 blocks to save resources and have a quicker burn for a few layers.
i still don't understand why that guy has sooo little subscriber. He finds even stranger things than our muppet.
His diagonal railing use is pretty awesome. I'd love to see a crossplay between CP and our Woodle. I'm a big fan of both.
@@blubbber It's probably the constantly shouting voice. Or maybe just because 7D2D is a bit niche.
That is a great pickup on the road railing end block - love a good afk base setup! Note that on the rage mode - making the base higher so that it is beyond 11 blocks would significantly reduce the rage mode - *shameless plug* please see my "No more rage mode - come learn how!" video for the explanation!
Youve showed the game secrets again. Now we will know the next upcoming patch
When you had the 60 Wedges up, one thing you failed to notice is the guard rail piece is offset to be towards the higher side. So if you use advanced rotation you can flip it to the other side, and still use the wedge tips. Essentially you just needed to flip the build from a left side wall run to a right side (from your perspective). And it should work. I used it on my base recently after the episode where you discovered this neat trick.

Zombies: dig a tunnel dig dig a tunnel quick before the woodle comes DIG
Fun video, really happy to see you achieve your goal after the 1st version didn’t go exactly as planned, but that was even more fun watching you risk it in a series.
i like to make a square hole in the floor with 4 ramp blocks on their sides and use wedge tips on the walls to nudge the zoms into the square hole. it works f-ing great
And the outro is back... nice
What if you put a left and right guard rail facing each other? can they squeeze between them?
Since they are half a block wide, and they seem to ignore it's actually there, I'd say yes. Since the block has it's orientation locked, you'd end up with a full block space no matter how you set them. so [] [] or ][ ][ would be the result.
...and TFP now make the zombies have wall climbing abilities...
Now to find a block that lights on fire but doesn't burn. And maybe put some easy to repair electric fences so the zombies will have more time not in destroy everything mode while burning.
you got your music back! i hope you sorted out that copyright strike problem.
JaWoodle try a sideways inward slope with the narrow wedges and narrow wedge extensions going inward towards you with the rail guard end close to you so the zombies move along the wall and get bumped out at the smallest point of the wedges
Love the R&D videos! You really put in the time to create quality, entertaining videos! Thank you Josh. By the way, I'm glad to see that you made a video where you didn't snap your toothpick like shins! 😅
Easy to avoid rage, they just have to be out of the 11 block range. If they hit the ground and you're 11 blocks away, they won't rage and will go back to trying to reach your altitude if there's a path.
Man that base is straight up OP, like damn! Zombie warcrimes for sure.
I'm guessing old mate got back to you. Outro music that's legally yours is back! Great AFK base, now we just need the spreadable fire to be in vanilla. Great work, as per usual.
it looks like you were very close to discovering the horde base design i've been using for a long time. that 'detour' block wasn't part of it though, i was using wedge tips halfs flipped on their sides for the purpose... but this block is a nice find - the way it bumps zombies with them mostly ignoring it seems amazing. i'm going to test it out in a21.
clearly you know that the wedge(half-blocks, inverted so the top looks like a half-path) still read as a path to the zombies... but what you seem to have missed is that you can place regular half blocks on top of them forming essentially a 'half-wall' and zombies will still see it as a path. then you can put your new 'detour' block at the very front (i would say at the bottom level) of it to *nudge* them toward empty space.
oh boy, new testing video. Love these fully educated, scientific, lab controlled, testing of zombie pathing :)
30 seconds from drop, nice
I miss Jawoodle Park🤩 - right back to even the Phallus 😂Base..
The only change I would make is have layers of wood in the trap separated by air blocks. So much of the fire is wasted burning a dozen blocks down. I assume that the fire spreads to adjacent wood blocks (but it might be blocks within a certain distance). It might not be quite as AFK since there's a chance you'd need to re-light the second layer after the first layer is gone.
Haha this is pretty cool. The only issue will be guaranteed screamers in the morning and access to loot.
Pretty sure that's the entrance to Hell lol Building this is a good bit of work but just like every other build you have done I will replicate it and use it for my own pizza 'cause it's super cheesy!
I love your base building videos where you take advantage of zombies pathing and AI.
Maybe its the Acapulco Gold talking but damn this is awesome. Love the Aussie (?) accent.
Nice piece of cheddar.
You could add a nade chute to the design to speed up the killing (and get some xp). I'm thinking to one side using ducts so there is no line of sight.
That one zombie looked like he was getting ready to do the crane kick Karate Kid style!
YAY! You got the outro music back!!!! 🖤🖤🖤 it just wasn’t the same without it!
Always love a cheeky JaWoodle Park episode!! Finally a working crucible, with a healthy dose of cheese!! Very satisfiying!
Meanwhile the Fun Pimps: WRITE THAT DOWN!! WRITE THAT DOWN!!!
I don't know. It's not obvious that it shouldn't work this way. I mean, they could try to tweak things so that zombies don't ever fall off of anything like that. But otherwise, I think they are going to have to let this go.
Into the notebook titled "fun things to remove from the game just to annoy people"
I was pretty excited about the zombie crucible, but honestly, the real selling point of this one was getting the outro music back. Hopefully TFPs won’t patch THAT out.
SO happy for the outro music to be back.
Something I haven’t noticed in this, or the infection series, but does the spreadable fire give you xp? If not, it might be helpful with just getting rid of zombies, but might now be good for gaining xp
you really should use the 0,25 half pole, centered (upside down) and the reguler center pole. they always fall off. and it easy to build. use min 3 block for them to fall.
it does exactly what you want
Works for dogs too
looks like it will work amazingly on the outside of a skyscraper base
Zeds happily path over security gates put vertically. Maybe that's what you've been looking for in the beginning. 🙂
He did it again!!! Josh breaks the game like a pro alpha tester. Great vid. Fun pimps next move mite change everything.
Yay woodle park. My toddler was so excited to be able to dance to outro again
Don´t have any complaint on the corridor base using wedges. Works like a charm for us playing different overhauls.
Because you started the fire with the Molotov do you get XP or is there no XP? That would be an issue if you are not getting credit for sending the zombies to the after-life. It is a nice idea for a crafting base, a fall-back base, or if you don't want to fight or get XP. Love the Woodle Park episodes. I learn so much. Thank you for putting in the time, effort and hard work.
Good Question....@jawoodle
You don’t get XP for fire damage, nor from drop damage.
@@scubasteve2189 You usually get XP for Molotov damage to zombies when they expire. He is using a spreadable fire mod. Is fire started by a Molotov still considered part of that when using the mod? You do get XP from a Molotov you throw.
Our dear Josh break the game again lol and in a hilarious way of the birth of the true AFK horde base
The only 'downside' of this design would be the time to dig deep down, without the good enough tool to build, it will take a couple days to finish. @JaWoodle, there is one concern of this base, what would you do if the fire somehow stop? Maybe you need to think to build a corridor or a catwalk over the pit so you could set fire again with a Molotov?
Normally not a fan of bases like this but I love it ❤
Thank you for not putting this before the last hoard night. I sometimes plan my evenings around your hoard nights
my toddler is SO happy the music is back he danced his heart out ❤
Jawoodle park is my favorite [art of your channel, thanks for the video and the eduication
So since you can set yourself on fire when you stand on a campfire can you build a lot of camp fires in the bottom of the pit load it up with wood and let the campfires cook them for you?
i haven't tried that in a while. from what i remember zombies seem to attack my camp fires but also it spawns screamer hoards. which isn't bad if your looking to afk EXP with other traps
hey josh try experimenting with the rode stripes. i know you use them as a zombie barrier for the floor, but try using it as a wall and see what happens. i had some interesting reactions when i used it as a blunt weapon barrier to hit them while being protected.
now that i think about it: when i try attacking them from one side(usually, the side facing you), my attacks go straight through them. i never thought to try making a wall of them though
Great idea 💡 zombie corner pocket 😎👌
Hold up. Wait for me to make my cup of tea and have pen and paper ready 😁
Brilliant! Zombie Crematorium. The Duke is impressed.
you could string electrical fences across the pit to shock them on the way down
If you use the dev paintbrush and hold R you can copy block and it'll give you a small stack of that shape.
Clearly one you best Jawoodle Park Horde Bases, great work. Should stand for as long as no patch "fixes" it.
The outro music is back? Well well, I had to make sure this wasn't an old video or something for a moment. Nice.
I love a cheeky build video! And this one looks like it's pretty solid... Amazing job! You have a serious knack for figuring out zombie pathing hacks LOL
Always a good day when I log in and see a Woodle Park
That is fantastic🙌 Thank you, I am gonna borrow this so I can feel safer. I'll probably just keep the top half though😉
These Jawoodle park videos are the best!
i wonder if its possible to make a horde base using the invincible blocks from trader in some way lol without us teleporting
Love the cheese. But that's a lot of wood to replace weekly xD seems fun though!
Fun pimps don't need a testing department. They have Josh!
Might I suggest you make the bridge simpler by using poles? Looks to me that you're trying to set up a tight-rope horde base and instead of plates, use the bars so you can shoot through them. The zombies will fall either way into the pit because of their weird jumping animations so little work is needed! Just set the base up higher so they take fall damage, if you fancy.
Replace the red 1/2 plates with wedge tips... it'll wedge the zombies off quicker as it doesn't stop their forward movement as it pushes them off... also, instead of spreadable fire, requires a mod, use campfires at the bottom of the pit...
Campfires would be destroyed by a single cop explosion, and generate heat/call in screamers. But i guess so does the blocks breaking away from fire, but i don't think molotovs fire adds passive heat over time, just heat from block disintegrate events
@@stevdor6146 Screamers won't spawn during horde night, but you can bet your ass that if that fire is still raging when the sun comes up, there will be screamer trains running into that oven all day.
Nice, didn't know, they implemented actual fire spread already.
Yay back in Woodle Park!
OMG.... I just realized your RUclips name as i finished the video! I wear JaWoodle Purple dye on everything! haha
All that lovely cheese. Make Omelette de Fromage! (Sue me if I have mutilated the spelling, I am not French. (I'm 1/64th French Canadian. Been trying like mad to cut it out.)🤪🤪🤪
Hey! His Music's back! Great Job, Josh! Does that mean you've got the problem with the owner figured out?
JOSH! I am excited to learn you have discovered a new .... technique... for keeping us safe from the horde! NOW, the very best thing you can do, is to take this to the next level... in REBIRTH in your next series! Make it happen, Josh! I'm sure you can do it =) Automatic thumbs up from me =)
I would love to see Josh do this in Rebirth, I belive he vill be in for a ride he never tryed before, haha
Rebirth is cringe worthy
I didn't click on this video for 20 minutes of crap that doesn't work.
Yes josh! What a beast of a afk base 👏
This gives me some ideas.
Don't think i'll use the girder piece though.
Can you light up fuel tanks or the barrels? My thinking is how you would get around the wood stack. Is that possible somehow?
Funpimp 1" you saw jawoodle' new vid.
Funpimp 2" we know we don't see those videos. But I'm stalling alpha 21 just to patch this out in alpha 20.6"
Oh damn, the Woodle outro's back!
how does Woodle not have 1 mil subs yet? honestly
Woodle, since you have friends in the mod circle you should see if they can make a powered flame thrower turret. It can be the new high tier, use gas as ammo and set it up for burst fire to conserve ammo. It would be great with the fire spread mod
do the design at 13:09 again, but put the rails that are higher up on the opposite side as the lower ones
"thinking slightly outside the 'blocks'" I see what ya did there! Also get rekt zombie AI! muahahahah
F-ing brilliant, Josh!
So in theory...if players don't use the fire spread mod and we give the zombies a path up, we could have the player box above the pit with a hatch in the floor and just throw down explosives/molotovs??
DO A MINE FIELD AND LET LOOSE THE DINGOS!!!!!
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IF THEY FLY THROUGH THE AIR
Hey Josh, did you try the off centered half plate?
I wonder if the curved guardrail end blocks from the other end would work the same or worse or what
If you want to join in a laugh with Josh, click 30:36 over and over lol!
Genius! Ja woodle is a genius zombie trap builder! MMMM Such good Cheeze! 😀😃😄😁😆😅🧀🧀
JaWoodle …. The fun pimps worst nightmare in zombie pathing
So can you stack wooden Stakes on top of each other? And would they continue burning like normal wood blocks? If so, they might do enough combined damage to stop the cops from popping. But the wood Stakes might also burn faster....
they wouldnt burn faster but theyd get destroyed a lot faster. they d be used up spiking zombies before the fire could do much damage
wonder if you can flip flop by one to right and next piece will be flip to the left and repeat. will that achive the same thing?
Hey Josh, what button do you press that gives you all the zombie stats above their head? Trying to figure that out I know you have to be in Debug Mode but can’t find the button. Thanks love your videos.
is there still a working forcefield? i watched your video in 20.1 with the road tip combination
