Wow it's hard to believe Strixhaven was released 2 years ago now. Such a good draft set, the archives lead to some really spicy decks and drafting some of the unsupported pairs could be really satisfying when they panned out. GW magecraft was probably one of the cooler decks I managed to tease out
Alex, your content is so good! Very to the point and a great refresher. It's funny to me to notice how different a set overview like this is after the format has been 'solved', as compared to before launch. Appreciate the effort you put in to make these videos.
I doubt I'm gonna try much STX this time around as it's the last set I played before ONE, but this is an awesome video for anyone who forgot or never played the format. Definitely looking forward to seeing more in the future when another flashback set comes out Having finished the video, I might actually do a couple of drafts. You got me.
I usually ignore the flashback drafts because it's hard for me to get back into the mindset of the format, but videos like these are very helpful. Can't wait to draft some Strixhaven again!
So I'm having a really weird problem in my Strixhaven premier drafts that I didn't have in the Quick Drafts with bots. In all 3 drafts I've done, the campus I go into pack one is wide open, then packs two and three, it's the complete opposite. Pack one, I get nothing but Quandrix cards, and pick up things like Biomathmatician and the pledgemage on the wheel, among other wheeled cards. Packs two and three, Quandrix isn't open at all, but I have a ton of Lorehold and Silverquill rares go by me. Or Pack one, Silverquill is wide open, then packs two and three dries up, but tons of prismari stuff. It's not even sharing one of the colors I drafted, what gives? And are there any tips for drafts like this?
One thing I remember is that having to spend 5-8 picks of your draft in lesson cards made it so that you can't fiddle around with your colors as much during the first pack in order to get enough playables. Like you needed to commit earlier to your colors in strix than in a normal set
Excuse the editing error at 32 min! The deck I'm talking about is the one that was shown just before that.

I'm all about that Dimir state of mind.
Thanks for making content for these flash back formats. Much appreciated for players like me who didn't get to draft them the first time around
