Samodelkina has a weird entry into the jump... looks like she’s going to do a Lutz or a Flip... but then, in the last second, she changes the position.
I think Akatyeva has better technique. I like it more.

Akatieva's 3A is very similar to Kostornaia's. Samodelkina's one is closer to Liu´s.
Akatieva’s 3a looks more like Rika’s one than Kostornaia’s.
Akatieva is better✨❣️her posture and landings look better than samodelkina’s, also her jumps are fully rotated

Akatieva's technique looks better for now but it looks like she'll struggle with growth more. Samodelkina's technique doesn't look reliable but she has more power so she might be able to make it happen, idk. Neither looks stellar tbh.

@iris, i Was thinking that precisely - the second girl looks like she has the muscle mass of late adolescence... so it could be promising that she can perform these elements in the long term. And it doesn’t necessarily have to do anything with being skinny or not; consider Valieva - even at 14 or however old she is, she looks extremely athletic (she reminds me of a fig skating version of RUS rhythmic gymnast Irina Tchachina) and has a kind of optimal proportions of torso to legs that she actually could pass as an older gymnast just from the physique alone. If I were to get on any of the Eteri girls to maintain top performance in the long term, I’d bet on her. Kostornaia would’ve been a second bet but she was slightly more muscular and with shorter legs than Valieva, and we are already seeing her struggling after one good year at the senior level.
@@QQ-wl6yt right? the standard I tend to refer to for a good 3A still tends to be Midori Ito, who was not a tall woman but was not waifish by any means. Her technique is so precise that size isn't a deal breaker. If Samodelkina has the 3A now, and is adapting to moving adult weight across the ice, then I think that if she refined the takeoff she might be able to hold onto it for the long haul.
Is Samodelkina doing a back counter to axle like Yuzuru does? That means she has a more difficult entry, right? Not a skater and would like to know is all.

@@lucasblacklight1280 as a huge fan of figure skating, there's nothing that saddens me more than unfulfilled potential, prematurely ended careers because of injuries. I wish them all the best, but man, I'm seriously worried seeing basically still physically undeveloped children landing quads and 3A. I would hope for training methods being healthy, but we both know the reality of training in Russia. Even recently, Kostornaia survived just a single season with competing 3A before a serious back injury that is still holding her back. I can't imagine these girls even surviving until they turn senior.
I get your point about underdeveloped girls doing 3As and quads is risky. I dont think the bigger Sofia is under develeoped. In fact she looks like she's going to have a strong figure skating body like Adelina, Stanislava or Nastya.The smaller Sofia is super slender and delicate but seems like she can handle everything. Amazing.
