Alexandra "Sasha" Vyacheslavovna Trusova (Александра Вячеславовна Трусова; born 23 June 2004) is a Russian figure skater, who currently holds the world record for the free skate (166.62 points).
Trusova is the first female skater to land the quad Lutz, flip, and toe loop jumps, the second to land the quad Salchow after Miki Ando, and the first to land two and three ratified quads in a free skate, achieved at the 2018 Junior World Championships and the 2019 Nepela Trophy, respectively. She currently holds four Guinness World Records; the fourth being in recognition of the quadruple flip she landed in the 2019 ISU Grand Prix Final.
She is currently the fourth highest ranked ladies' singles skater in world by the International Skating Union following the 2019-20 figure skating season.

Anna Stanislavovna Shcherbakova (Russian: Анна Станиславовна Щербакова, born 28 March 2004) is a Russian figure skater. Shcherbakova currently has the second highest free skating score of any lady - 162.65 points.
Shcherbakova is the first senior lady to land a quad Lutz, which she landed at her first senior competition at the 2019 CS Lombardia Trophy. Additionally, she is the first lady to land two quad Lutz jumps in a program, which she achieved at the 2019 Skate America. At this competition, she also became the first lady to land a quad Lutz in combination (4Lz-3T).
She is currently the third highest ranked ladies' singles skater in world by the International Skating Union following the 2019-20 figure skating season.

Oh you mean GOE. Yeah Anna was wayyy overscored in GOEs. She has a flutz and her lutz is technically a loop in some cases

@@worldpeace9522 If you haven't found out by now, or if anyone is seeing this, she said she couldn't motivate herself like she could with Eteri. She also said she was happier off the ice with Plushenko but less happy because she didn't get on podiums

A lot of people on here think that if we are critizing Anna's 4Lz, then we are against her as a skater, and that is untrue! We are NOT talking about who should have won. We are talking singularly about the technical score on Anna's quads.

Sasha's first luts was underrotated. How people cannot see it? That's why the GOE was not like Anna's. The judges can see what we can't.
Sasha has improved so much in just under a year. Her artistic interpretation has really grown we all know she loves the challenge of a good job and to see her really grow as a skater in an all around aspect is so great to see. I think she made the right move transferring to plushenkos camp. She's really growing fast...
Moscow GP 2020 showed her wonderful "progress". Lol.

but her coach before is also good, look at anna and kamilla, and sasha always win gold medal before in her old coach.

Trusova and Anna still have severe on ice pre rotation.You are supposed to take off at 1/4 but they do at 2/4 to 3/4
I don't as much have a problem with Sasha's scores because they are accurate for an unstable landing, but Anna's edge was extremely incorrect. I'd say keep Sasha's GOE but downgrade Anna's 4.76 (!!!) and give it an edge call. I admire Anna's perseverance, but she shouldn't be getting high scores on her quad Lutz.
I totally agree with you. I really like these two ladies with two different qualities, but Anna is so overscored... (wrong edge, full blade assistance, 3/4 prerotation, UR...). Sasha's lutz here was not perfect (unstable landing, a bit UR, 1/2 prerotation) but cleary much better than Anna's.

@@iceskate4ever184 I could be seeing wrong, but put the video in x0.25 speed and watch 0:43 - 0:47. If you pause at the 0:45 second, you can see the take off edge. I shouldn't have said "extremely incorrect," but it looks flat.

Both pre-rotate, but Sasha's edge is WAY better. So disappointing to see unfair scoring.
What about air position, landing, and flow?

Sashas lutz is so much better. In the second one you can see how her blade catches and reflects the light when it gets into outside edge position. I feel bad for her she is trying to improve so much.
@@lutzaby1997 I was about to say that! Sasha's air position and overall form seems more proper and sustainable. I love Anna, but when it comes to her jumps most of the time I wonder "how the heck did she manage to fit in all those rotations before landing??"
Even thou I love anna I couldn't lie about the flawless lutz jump,sasha got better tech because she rotated better off the air than the landing which is completely different from anna
Trusova made the best decision of her life in switching to Plushenko as a coach. She's gotten so much better! I'm happy for her :)
That being said, I really want to know who Eteri knows on the ISU, because it's pretty clear that while she's not a good coach (teaching all of her pupils the same textbook jumping mistakes!), the girls she coaches get over-scored. Clearly Eteri has some backdoor politics going on. Note how Trusova got much higher scores when she was under Eteri, even though she had many should have been edge-calls problems, versus now that she's under Plushenko and her technique is so much better.
You made a mistake: after the first paragraph it should be 'That being sad'. Which is proved by what happened to Alyona Kostornaya: with Plushenko her skating has been only degrading.
@@sergio1667 aliona was already struggling. she can't motivate herself. someone has to force her to skate basically. her technique was going down way before plushenko. She went back because plushenko doesn't want to work with skaters who constantly cry and have no motivation.

She couldn’t train for months because of how bad her back was and plushenko actually let her rest and recover unlike eteri. Eteri is a bad coach. End of story. Look at yulia, evgenia, Alina, aliona, ANNA. That’s not what a good coach should produce

Anna definitely over-scored, not a true lutz. Blade take off and inside edge. Better overall, but lacks technique. Alexandra, true lutz with perfect take off techniques. And still being rotated all the way around. It might be a little under, but I’ll give it to her. She did a great job without excessive pre-rotations.

I find that a lot of the Russian skaters under Eteri have almost loop take offs favoring the blade for their toe pick jumps, so kudos to Sasha for working on her form even if she does pre-rotate a bit.

Is it just me but I think Sasha has a much more aggresive technique where as Anna is more traditional. Sasha is doing amazingly since the switch.

I like Sasha better. She has her own athletic beauty. It's so nice to watch her on the ice. Everyone says that her choreography is weak, that she can only jump. I don't think so. In her short program, she proved that she can also show tenderness. I think it's her best performance ever. Her jumps are stabilizing, she's working hard, getting better. What a pity that our Russian refereeing is so corrupt. As well as everything in our country. I am sure that at international competitions Sasha will be appreciated.

Ivan It is only in Russia “everyone says that Sasha can only jump” The world outside (bigger than Russia) really appreciates Sasha. She is athletic and sensitive to the music, and she has personality and guts. It takes real courage to be a little rebel as she is. I personally love how athletic, yet feminine, she is. Often, when I watch Sasha skate I am reminded of Aliona Savchenko. May Sasha have her mental strength as well!
Это как же надо ненавидеть свою страну? Любезный коррупция была есть и будет всегда и ВЕЗДЕ и во все времена. В вот двойные и тройные стандарты это именно фишка запада.... По поводу четверных прыжков... техника исполнения у обоих одинаковая (потому как учились в одном месте) Заходят обе по короткой дуге.... толковая нога при отталкивании работает одинаково у обоих преротейшен у обоих одинаковый, обе немного не докрутили при приземлении в этот раз, но выезды в этот раз у Щербаковой чище и это факт. ЛУчшие четверные в этот раз с докрутами получились у Валиевой хот это не лутцы а тулупы. Аня может и грибанули чуть чуть но по факту в остальных элементах она сильнее Трусовой. Валиева сильнее Щербаковой во вращениях и дорожках (Трусовой в этом до Валиевой и Косторной очень далеко). Саше, что бы укатывать в произвольной Аню всегда надо на один ультраси делать больлше а лучше два... потому что на финале гран при... (иностранные судьи) Щербакова за произвольную программу получила больше (с двумя ультраси), чем Трусова (с тремя ультраси .. третий был сделан в каскаде во второй половине программы) .Кстати обе упали по разу тогда и в итоге победила Косторная без четверных прыжков
Для тех кто не знает что такое коррупция посмотрите ФК олимпиада Солт-Лейк-Сити. Не правда ли верх наичестнейшего судейства? 2 первых места))) в парном, не упала а прошлась в женском одиночном и первая и т д. Это только эпизод. Везде так, не только в нашей стране.

As one former figure skater told: They give Trusove lower goes just because it's Trusova. Not like her jumps are ideal but she is getting lower scores than all the rest Tutberidze girls even in the components where she is better....

@@TKDkristina by components are meant elements...the technical ones. But actually I do not find her a robot at all. And some people say that her skating skills are higher than the Anna's ones...can't say whether it's true.

Just googled figure skating score explained and this is the first result: "Essentially, skaters receive two sets of scores or marks: the technical score is based on the difficulty and execution of the technical elements, things like jumps or spins, and the program component score is based on the more creative artistry, style, and presentation.". I always supported Trusova and she undoubtedly is the best technically and has a greater potential to have a long figure skating career in comparison to other girls who are not that technically capable and are unlikely to preserve their ultra-c jumps after puberty. Just surprised that 20 Trusova's fans above liked your incorrect comment. Either because they blindly like every positive comment about Trusova or they do not know how scoring system works😮
@@TKDkristina well....there is dictionary too. By components are meant elements. I am sure that if I google I will find the jumps being called like these. Those are still the components of the figure skating in the broader sense. Actually, let's google....the first link: "The base values of Kolyada's jumps and other components were....". Don't see any problem in here. And skating skills do go in the components part that you are talking about. Still, from all the articles I've read, I came to the conclusion that Trusova's skating skills are better at some points than Anna's who have beautiful hands but most specialists say that she has bad skating flow or how is it called. No one says that Trusova is better than everyone, of course. Still, what I mean - even when there are same elements and she is doing them better she is getting lower scores than girls who did it worse from Tutberidze just because she is Trusova. People also say that of course she is also getting more than someone like Liza Nugumanova who should have higher scores for the performance in the part of skating than Sasha and Anna but she can't just because she is Liza Nugumanova....

This is happening for years. ISU likes you and you get big scores regardless of your mistakes. ISU hates you and no matter how good you perform, you get little and humiliating scores. In gentleman's discipline, such corruption is even worse.

And besides, Russian federation is part of ISU and all those scores somehow reflect on international competitions scores as you build your scoring throughout the season. Also, they determine if an athlete will compete in international competitions as the system only allows 3 skaters per country. Sooo, it is more related than you think
How is it worse in gentleman's discipline lol. For men, they are always placed correctly. Maybe the goe and pcs are somewhat debatable (some skaters tend to always get away with URs, not going to name them), but the podium placements are ALWAYS correct. Whereas I remember NUMEROUS ladies' competition that the podium placements are totally questionable.
What about dances? People literally dance the same but they somehow give someone the first place. And then once you have it you are there at the first place for a long, long time XD

I love Anna and Sasha, so I do not want to stir up a fight. It is evident that Sasha has deeper edge and less prerotation, but Anna also has better flow and landing, which is pertinent to the goe. In my opinion, both of their goe should be lowered, and Anna’s goe should be significantly lower.
I like how you didn’t comment any jump, because there’s no need. It’s clear that Sasha’s 4Lz quality is higher and how they overscored Anna’s 4Lz. I’m not going to say anything on these ladies because they both made great efforts, but obviously the points were not accurate.
It’s called figure skating ,not just jumping competition,Trusova does not have same qualities yet overall.
@@ingaiskhakova8123 it doesn’t matter because there’s a PCS (components score) and a TES (technical score) which means it’s a sport that values both qualities in the same quantity since they both count 50% of the total score of a program

Trusova didn't have a good landing so looses good takeoff and landing bullet point and looses effortless bullet point
Neither of their quads are very good (both have flat edges). Alexandra's landing wasn't as strong, but Anna's edge was worse.

Wait, I admit I'm not an expert but watched lots of video about Lutz & Flutz. Anna's Lutz - flat edge, using the whole blade for take-off, prerotated - +4.76 GOE, Sasha - outside edge, using toe picks for take-off, she still prerotated like Anna though but only got +2.63 GOE despite better technique? Or am I blind or something? Or is Sasha underrotated on the landing?
you're not blind. It's just there's a thing called corruption and robbery lol
It's called "The Eteri Bonus". Eteri's girls are known to get overinflated scores at competitions purely because they're coached by Eteri. Sasha was training under the Angels of Plushenko at the time this competition happened, so she didn't have that luxury back then, hence why her GOEs were significantly lower than Anna's.

Is it even still a lutz if the take off uses the whole blade rather than the toe pick? How is that allowed while other skaters are struggling to get the same goe with a true and fully rotated 3lz.

Anna does have straighter air position and much better extended landing with flow. Honestly they should just judge the GOE based on their strengths and weaknesses.
Im going to try to word this right but to me it looks like Anna is forcing her entire body just to get in the air. Its like she yanking herself around just to get through it. I think she's a beautiful skater but im worried she's really harming herself. With sasha its not like that, it looks effortless, like she's jumping from her legs. Even when she falls it looks like she's in complete control of the quad and you can see every placement of her arms and legs it looks perfect. They both are amazing skaters!
It seems that both of them prerotate a lot but Trusova’s edge is much cleaner.

Do You Know What is Captivating in Anna's Performance? The Music!!! The Judges and the Audience are Emotional when they Hear the Bethoveen 5 Secrets. But we Can't Deny the Fact that Alexandra is Better than Anna. Kamilla is Better than Anna Too, If you watch all those Practice and Performance of these 3 girls Before, You can See How good Sasha and Kamilla Rather than Anna.
Sashas is better because you can tell that Anna shifts to a flat or slight inside edge (personally I think she should be deducted for that or get an edge call)
If you look at a close up the edge is very clear .
yeah I don't get it with the lutz edge calls - it's either clear or it isn't. If it isn't clear, it gets a ! for "unclear edge." Easy, right? And yet here we are...

トゥルソワは昨季よりも質が上がってる上に、筋肉のバネで跳ぶので重い怪我を負わなければ、20歳超えても跳べるでしょう。
I don't really understand about GOE's scoring... but I saw that Trusova taking some more time compared to Shcherbakova for the quads. Probably it affects the GOE? CMIIW. And yes, I agree that Trusova has a solid lutz!! And I support both girls don't get me wrong!

Of course she has to prepare more because she really trying to jump a 4 Lutz with a good outside edge! With toe pick assist! And lesser prerotation!
I think Anna uses her full blade take off because it is easier for her, because she lands them more stable. And I think she just basically can't handle only toe pick assist even on triples. So Anna jumps tow flutsez(floops)

Annas landing was pretty but yeeez the take of, wrong edge and clearly a flutz. Annas free leg on the take of bothers me as well, it doesn't look good just sloppy. Sasha´s GOE was in my opinion fair but Anna´s should of been around 2 as well with an edge call.
Even though Sashas jumps have better quality Anna has complicaated entrances and transitions with highers her a better GOE both ladies work hard despite of these rough times

There was nothing fair. With that amount of prerotation, both should be downgraded for a cheated take-off. Wrong edge and a full-blade take-off for Anna and under rotation on landing for Sasha. Both should result in doungraded base and close to zero GOE. Sashas is a bit better, Annas is just awful.

Now obviously these scores are inflated because it’s Russian Nats but still the inflation in GOE is insane! I don’t think Anna’s 4Lz should’ve gotten almost 5 GOE, but her 4Lz and 4F here look like the most clean and best performed they’ve ever been. Sure her 4F has prerotation but it seems to be the norm today. Her body is so tight in the air, her landing was very clean and had such flow to it. I would say without a doubt her best quads ever landed. I also don’t think that Sasha should’ve received even 2.63 GOE for her Lutz with the landing it had. But again, it’s Russian Nats so you can’t really argue it

I don't think she was scored low. It's just that Shcherbakova and Valieva were both blatantly overscored in the sp and fs that it makes it look like Trusova was underscored.
@Maryana K. I see your answer in my gm-box, but cannot find it in the field, so I just answer you in this random place. Of course flutzing is about not holding her outer edge, but this is widely discussed everywhere. So I just mentioned this full blade assist (or you can have “drop” if you prefer, but sometimes she fully shaves for short moment) cause this really gets me. It’s cheating too, Lutz should be fully rotated with clean pick. And frankly, we would probably not need this broad discussion about Anna’s lacking technique if it wasn’t for those horribly high GOEs she usually gets in Russia. No bad feelings towards Anna though, but Russian judges really know how to make clowns out of themselves.
Clearly, Anna did the jumps on the wrong edge and she got an outstanding GOE. Trusova did two awesome real quad lutz with ribbon. It’s completely unfair.

It’s interesting the Sasha is using much better technique on her lutz now and doesn’t get the appropriate goe scores. Anna does two flutz jumps and she get overrated scores.
The second jump of Anna was flip, not lutz.

@@Galaclar I thought by "two flutzs" two lutzs were meant. Anna has stronger components than Sasha so she is valued higher. Sasha had to make three or four clean jumps to beat her. But it was impossible because of Sasha's trauma of her hip. As for jumps, the judges as well as Russian fans don't care about the edges or blades. In Russian internet resources there are very few articles about such mistakes of our athletes. Its It's a great sin to criticize the work of Eteri's team in Russia. In my opinion, both girls are absolutely amazing but I think Sasha definitely has the better technique and Anna has the better movement (idk how to explain it, Anna makes it look easier).
Lutz takes from the outside edge, and with the assistance of the toe pick from the opposite foot, just the assistance, jump must be done from the outside edge...without any prerotation. Therefore non of these is actually a correctly done lutz jump. If I have to, slight advantage goes to Trusova.

ISU has actually implemented a separate rule for a strong prerotation called "a cheated takeoff". Jumps should be downgraded, but the judges don't seem to care.

Personally, I am not a huge fan of Sasha, but she does have and is always trying to improve her jumping technique. She should have gotten a higher GOE on that lutz.

Sasha was robbed！Not only by judges but also Anna Scherbakova. Many people always think it‘s all judges’ fault，Anna is innocent. But I do not think so. Anna Scherbakova gets know well she is a flutzer, but she still use flutz jump FOUR TIMES per competition. Besides she has no any motivation to modify her flutz edge and enjoying judges’ blind to her flutz. That’s why I prefer Sasha now. She know her shorts and has more motivation to impove and achieve a lot improvements but Scherbakova never 🤷♀️

Anna didnt even have 3.5 revolutions in the air. I care nothing about the landing if the technique is cheated. Of course u would get a good landing if u prerotate that much. Sasha also prerotates but her take off was at least correct

Jump starts when she starts to move up. To the moment she is in the air she has to finish prerotation because it is impossible to prerotate in the air.
Everyone knows Russian elite female skaters are notorious for their Flutz. I think Trusova is the only one who executes the Lutz with the correct outside edge. The rest literally execute a Flip as a Lutz with the inside edge. At best, it is a flat edge. Kamila executed her triple Lutz with a correct edge in her free program at this event and actually surprised me. BTW, Shcherbakova executed 4 Lutz in her free program I believe (2 4Lz and 2 3Lz). She got away with +7 points in term of base value for those Flutz. Combined with GOE, she probably got away with +10 points in her technical score. That's ridiculous.

@@yanaavd2080 That was not the correct edge. That was slight inside edge and flat edge at best. You need to look at the edge when the toe pick happens, not when she was simply making an entry to the jump. The 0:45 moment is what I was looking at. That was clearly not an outside edge.

It's weird but i actually see the inside edge in Anna's lutz at 0:45 slightly but there it is, with great high position and clean landing it looks so effortless, i dunno why so much hate about it, pre rotation and toe picks are not that noticeable at human sight but definitely the way she rotates in the air is sooo beautiful and visible
Look carefully, Sasha`s single lz was under rotated. This can be clearly seen in the slow motion. It's a big minus for scoring.

Personally for me Anna looks more like she is debating on whether she can do theses really hard jumps while Sasha’s look more consistent and powerful and also make them look less anxious

I don't claim to be any sort of expert on competitive ice skating, and I also don't claim to be an informed observer of it; however, it to me that Shcherbakova's scores are higher generally than the competition, given that comparisons are based on otherwise clean skating, because of her exceptional artistic interpretation based on the coaching she receives. Simply put, she just looks better doing it.

If it weren't for the hammer toe, I would overlook everything because her air position is beautiful, the landings are smooth and ride out beautifully even when they aren't perfect. But man does she smash that foot into the ice. It really takes something out of it, for me, and does draw my attention to the takeoff technique overall. But once she's in the air, it's just..*chef's kiss*
My opinion: I think Trusova was a bit underscored, she should be first or second.

Trusova’s goe scores should def be higher but i feel like anna gets crapped on way too much. Remember this is russian nats - problem is the worlds judges do the same crap. Anna and sasha are still doing freaking QUADS!!! And we should be celebrating that more
I disagree, trusova should have the dame goe, while Anna should get way less. Yes they are doing quads and that's revolutionary but they already get more points with the base value no need to also inflate their grade of execution

In my opinion, Trusova was scored fairly in both sp and free skate but Valieva and Shcherbakova were blatantly overscored.
