I’m still so surprised that Schumacher left all the stuff around the outside…. honestly, I’m really thinking that I’m not going to go with them, especially when they left your beautiful home with all the things that should have been done if not closing day then definitely by the 21 days. I think it has to do with who the contractor is. So it might be good to find out who the contractor is. When our house was built years ago, the contractor buried their unused material in the back yard. Of course you can sue them since they would build then go out of buisness. Make sure you have reputable contractor, that can give you list of where they have build, etc. Do the research, that is one thing I have learned over the years. Great looking house btw. You all did as much as you could.,

Ridiculous that they left such a mess outside and haven’t finished the punch list items. Hopefully they resolve the situation shortly. Are they going to add a sidewalk up to your house or is that not part of their responsibility?
Thanks Lisa, I agree, hopefully they'll be finished soon! No, the sidewalk is not their responsibility. Hopefully we can get that finished when spring arrives. I'm tired of the mud already haha.

We did a lot of searching for reviews and builders and no builder is perfect or has perfect reviews. I guess we all have to be patient and let them finish things up. I would raise hell though about them getting out there ASAP and cleaning up the yard. I'm sure when we are finished we will have a big list of items as well. :(
Hi Don, I completely agree! Every builder is going to have their flaws, we just always wanted to give an honest update whether good or bad. With that said, they called us this past week and said someone will be coming out to clean up the jobsite this week, as soon as they do, I'll definitely give another update. Overall though, we've been very happy with our build. Thanks for watching and i hope your build is going great!

@@feliciaa525 If you are referring to the Duncan SC office, then yes. As for the build so far, it is going well. Perfect, no, but I'm sure the issues I am seeing with be resolved.
Thank you so much for your videos!! I love your house it's beautiful! I am currently building the Halsted in South Carolina. I have a very urgent question! They just installed my windows. The tall front window in the stairway landing, I always assumed that this was a standard window that came with the Halsted. They installed 3 different small windows, one on top of the other, of which all are small double hung, functional windows. They look AWFUL!!!! I'm sick to my stomach about it, and have to talk to my builder about it tomorrow. I wanted to know before talking to her if you had to pay extra for that as an added option? This info would be greatly appreciated so I have a leg to stand on tomorrow!!! Thank you so much for your time!
Hi Christi, the only window upgrade we did was to upgrade to the Pella windows throughout. We didn't do any upgrades to the front stairway landing window. Ours is definitely just 1 window, its not functional though. That sounds really bizarre about having 3 windows there, hopefully they can get you a single window installed instead!
