      Tyrone Perkin - and OJ was friends with a number of those so called Lowdown Rats. You, like many other African-Americans still don't get it. Everyone all around the world including myself (I'm Australian) could see what Cochrane and the rest of the Defense team were doing to manipulate the jury and African-American public but so many of you to this day still either can't or simply refuse to see through it; to see their tactics for what they really were. You guys were played.... gooooood! They all knew he was guilty and the only way they could get around it was to bring up all this bullshit about racial injustice, things that had absolutely nothing to do with him (e.g the Furhman tapes) because he famously didn't want anything to do with his own community up until that point, hence why he mostly surrounded himself with white people, as if OJ was some sort of civil rights victim here.... those lawyers were prepared to go wherever they had/needed to in order to set his murdering ass free. They used dirty tactics and had no fucking morals when it came to this case. This was about 2 innocent people who were brutally murdered, not about racial injustice from the LAPD towards the black community because OJ never saw himself as part of your community..... GET IT?! How many more ways does it take to explain it so people like you actually get it through your heads and accept it. You were played! It makes me sick. Furhman could not have planted that glove because he thought OJ was in Chicago at the time of the murders - in other words, he was not stupid enough to plant evidence when it would not have added up since he was told OJ was already in Chicago.... a whole other city.. does any of this still not make sense to you. The blood at his house was already sighted, swabbed then taken away before he had even arrived back from Chicago, so how on earth did they have samples of his blood/DNA when they had not even taken his blood at that stage? hhhmmm?????

    • @MsBAustralia
      @MsBAustralia 6 лет назад +2

      Daniel Parker - why are you people in so much denial when it comes to this case. Ron Shipp and OJ were very good friends. Not all cops have it in for black people FFS! Besides, Ron Shipp was half black himself so what the hell would his motive have been in your humble opinion? The only dishonesty going on was the the bullshit from OJ's defense team. They completely pulled the wool over your eyes... manipulated so many of you, brought up issues from the past that had absolutely nothing to do with OJ. He was friends with a number of members of the LAPD, hence why, whenever Nicole called the cops on him to report him when she was scared out of her wits that he was going to (if he had not already at the time) beat the hell out of her, they would never bloody arrest him or do anything. None of this was about race... this wasn't some giant win for the black community, it was a rich, famous guy getting off for murder through incredibly dishonest means. He didn't have any black pride, he didn't want to be seen as black man... 'just OJ'... remember... "I'm not black, I'm OJ".... if you don't understand the gravity of the statement then you need to open your eyes (and your mind). His defense team took an incredibly sensitive topic and molded it around their client in order to create sympathy and support from the black community, even though, he had done so little to try to help, enhance, or give back to his own community over the many years leading up to this tragedy, then all of a sudden so many of you were so happy to simply forget that 'minor' detail and start yelling that poor old OJ was some sort of civil rights victim.... my god you people were played by that Scheme Team... ahem... I mean Dream Team.

Douglas also makes the cardinal mistake and asks a "why" question. "Why didn't you tell people about the dream?" Then after that, Douglas started arguing with Shipp. By the end, Shipp came off as totally genuine and Douglas came off as the asshole. Watching OJ during this trial, you can just see his personality coming through. He is arrogant, controlling and shows so many signs and facial expressions of anger when it’s not going his way. Definitely guilty or played a part at least, it was the fact that the defence played the racist card through this trial that got him acquitted. There was too much evidence and DNA for him not to be involved. Claiming that blood from OJs sample was tampered with and placed on the glove and at OJs house even before it had physically been taken from him is crazy that the jury didn’t see through that. When the blood was discovered on the car and on the driveway OJ was still in the air flying back from Chicago! And for the jury to reach a decision after just a few hours was ridiculous. Thank goodness he was found liable in the Civil trial.

    • @goldenstatewarriors9418
      @goldenstatewarriors9418 3 года назад +1

      It wasnt only "the race card" (though that was major). These claims are not ridiculous. Cochran doesnt need to prove his theory, he just needs to cast reasonable doubts on the prosecutions evidence, which he does.
      Also, DNA evidence was relatively new at the time and anyway, the scene wasnt handled overly well. The claim was that the bloody glove was planted by Fuhrman. Not that the exact sample they took after he came back was. OJ's DNA was found on a glove that was AT HIS RESIDENCE. Your body can leave behind DNA traces pretty much anywhere as humans shed cells every second. So unless OJ head literally never walked by the spot where the glove was found, his DNA being there doesnt mean shit.
      They jury coming to the verdict quickly was understandable. They had been sequestered for 8 friggin months, completely cut off from their families (allowed to talk once a week) and the outside world. They basically had to live in isolation, high quality prison for that long. They were done. They had so much time got think over the evidence and wether the prosecution proved it.
      Btw, I still think OJ is guilty, but there was reasonable doubt cast on the evidence. Prosecution did not do a good job. Mark Fuhrman being a key witness didnt help their case either.

      @jimreily7538 2 месяца назад

      6 months before the trial, it was public knowledge that OJ's defense would be:
      The LAPD (hundreds of officers, lab technicians, detectives who'd never met before that night) conspired to frame OJ, because they were all racists, even the black ones.
      In fact this was public knowledge weeks after the Bronco chase.
      The defense would suggest that Fuhrman planted the glove.
      (Even though 14 other officers who arrived before Furhman, examined the scene thoroughly at Bundy, and saw only one single glove there. Street cops and detectives, none of whom had met Fuhrman before that night.)
      Why was this public knowledge?
      Because Robert Shapiro gave the story to Jeff Toobin, at the time a friend of Alan Dershowitz (the shameless appellate lawyer who advised OJ's 100,000 dollar per day defense team), had taught Toobin at Harvard.
      Toobin then printed the story in the New Yorker. The article was entitled "An Incendiary Defense".

    • @jimreily7538
      @jimreily7538 2 месяца назад

      To put it more simply:
      A few weeks after the Bronco chase, many months before the trial, and before Johnnie Cochrane was even on the defense team, Robert Shapiro came up with an idea.
      There's so much physical evidence showing OJ did it.
      So, instead of arguing "who killed Ron and Nicole, two innocent people ?", (which was the POINT OF THE TRIAL), Shapiro cunningly decided, "we'll put the LAPD on trial ! We'll put Mark Fuhrman on trial ! Forget the victims. We'll spring OJ by appealing to the juror biases."
      Shapiro then leaked this story to the media, specifically to Jeffrey Toobin, writer for the New Yorker.
      Toobin published the article.

    • @jimreily7538
      @jimreily7538 2 месяца назад

      To put it even more simply:
      Robert Shapiro and Alan Dershowitz told Jeffrey Toobin the following:
      "The jury are there to find out who killed Ron and Nicole. Obviously OJ did it. So we'll turn the entire thing into the "Mark Furhman trial"."
      Robert Shapiro even admitted to Toobin that "of course OJ is guilty."
      The day the "not guilty" verdict was announced, Shapiro gave an interview with Barbara Walters.
      He admitted to Walters that yes, OJ was guilty.
      "We not only played the rave card," he said, "we played it from the bottom of the deck."

      The jury, 9 black people, 1 mixed black/latino, 1 American Indian, and 1 white woman, did NOT represent the racial mixture of downtown LA, where the trial was held.
      In fact there were far more Latinos in downtown LA than black people.
      It was a black jury.
      Carrie Bess was asked directly "was this acquittal revenge for Rodney King?"
      She answered, "yes".
      Many other jurors have since said the same and most have changed their minds.
      "I'm not black. I'm OJ." - a quote OJ Simpson used routinely.
      OJ Simpson fraternised almost exclusively with white people. He was the ONLY black resident in upscale Brentwood.
      The trial was held to determine one thing. The jury was asked to determine one thing.
      "Did OJ Simpson murder Ronald Goldman and Nicole Brown ?"
      Ron Goldman was just a kid. A kid at the crossroads of life. He volunteered at a centre for children with cerebral palsy. That's what he did in his spare time.
      This jury, judge Ito, and the defense team were shameless. They were amoral. They were unethical. They broke the law many times, broke their oaths as officers of the law - every lawyer is an officer of the law - many times.
      This wasn't the trial of who killed Ron and Nicole, it was the trial of Mark Fuhrman.
      Anyone who supports the defense tactics needs to think about how they'd feel if their child was murdered by a rich celebrity.
      And how they'd feel if that rich celebrity walked away scot free.
      This trial was never about race. That's just the cover they used.
      This trial was about money. About money and about celebrity.
      One juror even said "OJ couldn't be a murderer because he played for USC."
      They gave OJ two free murders.
      I only hope what happened to Ron and Nicole never happens to one of their loved ones. I only hope a rich celebrity doesn't butcher one of their loved ones, then goes on to hire a multi-million dollar group of lawyers, who divert attention from the murders.

      Brilliant defense strategy?
      Would you say the same for a serial killer? If you kill more than 2 people you are a serial killer in most states.
      A psychopathic, vicious inhuman cretin. And a person who was an admitted (rhymes with) grapeist. (I can't type the word because RUclips will delete the comment.)

Over defense objections Ito permitted the prosecution to elicit from Shipp his testimony that on the day following the murders, Simpson told Shipp at Simpson's Rockingham estate that "you know. to be honest, Shipp, Iv'e had some dreams of killing her." Quite apart from why the prosecution would even want to present extremely weak dream evidence when it had a Himalayan mountain of other very solid evidence against Simpson, the decided weight of authority in the United States is against the admissability of such evidence, since the medical profession has not yet been able to establish, through empirical studies (think this is the year 1995) an unmistakble connection between dreams and actual conduct. Yet Ito nontheless allowed this evidence be heard by the jury, undoubtedly bringing a smile to the face of Alan Dershowitz, who felt that if the there was an eventual conviction, Ito's incorrect ruling in allowing the jury to hear the dream evidence would be one of the stronger grounds on appeal seeking a reversal of the conviction.

      It is sad how Shipp was done by the defense, but I also feel that he should have kept his dignity and not bitten back at OJ with those few comments he made.
      And yea, I do think he was being truthful.

      Because OJ invited him upstairs to confess to him that he's had dreams about killing Nicole. So he knew what time it was.

    I know people are hating on Douglas here, but this is part of his job. I do feel out of all the witnesses so far, Shipp has been the most genuine. However, Douglas did what he was supposed to: cast doubt on the statements in direct examination and on the witness. He casted doubt on his "friendship" with OJ. He casted doubt on wether OJ and Ron ever had that conversation before OJ went to bed by showing how tired Simpson was that day. Yes, he was too aggressive. Yes there were moments that he screwed up and made himself look like an attacker and Ron a genuine witness. But overall, he did his job setting up foundation and casting reasonable doubts on Shipp's relationship with Simpson and the likelihood of his testimony.
