    Rumley made it sound like getting the data acquisition was the only factor that led to the creation of the "device". While no doubt that aided him, I'm sure the main motivation that led him down that path was what Bloomer was doing on the LR corner in 2014. Maybe Lanigan as well. Rule changes made what they were doing illegal opening the door for the "device". It wasn't something Kevin Rumley just brainstormed up on his own by collecting data. He was influenced by the trends in dlm racing at the time. Jonathan Davenport has even said this in interviews.

    I was surprised that the Twitter debate yesterday between Paul Silva and Kyle Hirst about the costs of 360 vs 410 racing didn't make it as a topic. I was kind of looking forward to Justin's take on that debate.

      What was the debate?
      Not much difference in cost between 410’s and 360’s imo…

      @mjriemen very true. I remember a live stream David gravel did before the outlaw season started where he said the whole 360 class of sprint cars was utterly pointless because it cost nearly the same to run a 360, with the 360 races paying like half of what a 410 race does

    Releases the rear bite on the LR while capturing the energy in a “capsule” kinda like a shock then when the LR is engaged again on the rear end the energy is dispersed back by released the valve on the capsule.

    Support classes could make for an interesting show topic in the future. Heard a few different people around me last night at Butler complaining about the amount of time it was taking for the preliminary action for the street stocks & 4 cylinders. Had some friends that left after the All Stars finished their heat races because of how slow the program was moving.

    • @hawkifish
      @hawkifish Год назад +2

      I would agree with this. I'm all for support classes as long as there's no more than 2 of them. Last weekend there was a Sprint Invader show at Peoria Speedway that I was going to go to, but then I saw 6 classes were running & decided to skip it. I will not go if there's more than 3 classes running.

      This is problem at the tracks I go to. A race I was going to last night had 5 classes so I didn't go. Another track I used to go to weekly runs 4 classes plus 2 classes of mini wedges. The minis never get done before the regular classes are supposed to start.

    • @RacingVagabond
      @RacingVagabond Год назад +2

      My problem isn't so much with the support classes themselves as it is tracks not running efficiently. If you're going to have a decent number of classes you better start on time and have a reasonable intermission time. The race I was at last night started 20 minutes late and had a 1 hour intermission, can't blame that crap on the racers.

    • @RacingVagabond
      @RacingVagabond Год назад +1

      @billmellinger1134 Most tracks around me run 7 normally, it's a big part of the reason that of the 38 races I've been to this year only 5 have been normal weekly shows.

    • @trentonseibold4806
      @trentonseibold4806 Год назад

      @@RacingVagabond 100%,part of the frustration on Saturday was they started a half hour late, and there was a half hour brake to water the track, which is completely out of the racers hands, but at the same time the 4-cylinders were told over the PA that they needed to be lined up in staging, which didn’t happen and caused a 10min delay waiting on them.

    • @corey7025

      @@KimiWallruslol what, this isn't NASCAR. Super late models have very loose engine rules, they don't need power adders when they no limit to the displacement they can use. If they need more power they simply build a bigger engine. The amount of power they make isn't the issue, it's putting the power down. That's where concepts like Rumleys device come in. Speed in these cars is by how much drive they can get off the corner and it's constant battle to find more drive off.

    My take was that if Rumley would've sold the "device" to the competition, we'd still be seeing it or a variation of it on all the late models today...imo
    The fact that he refused to sell it, is what made it "illegal"...lol
