I told you bro- that is the best fingerstyle tune ever written.

I can play the first 2 minutes of this song....but it takes me 3 minutes. I also mess up the palm mutes and the finger stretches are REAL. This song takes discipline to be able to play, and if you don't have it I'd almost recommend learning another song....almost. Everyone has a different skill level, and you don't need to play hard songs to make a beautiful sound.
This song is beautiful. And I consider Gareth Pearson to be one of the best guitar composers alive today. Seriously, he's really good. AND HE USES STANDARD TUNING FOR ALL OF HIS SONGS (that I know of)!!!

Slightly late to the party here, but just had the privilege of seeing (& briefly meeting) this wonderful man at the Green Room in Placerville a couple of nights ago...what a talent, and a diamond geezer...thank you Gareth.

I heard this for the first time in 2020 and fell in love with it. My number one comfort song.

One of the best and most heartfelt songs in the fingerstyle genre. Thanks!

Wow! A great lesson of an even greater song. It’s rare to see the master behind a masterpiece teach it out like this. Well done.

I saw you support Andy McKee in Bristol around 2010 ish and you ended the set with this. No lie, it took me about a year to play it through clean. There were no tabs or tutorials around then. I don't even think RUclips was a good resource back then either. It's nice to see you play it so clearly - and see where I got the completely wrong fingering in some sections! A truly beautiful song Gareth. Thanks for sharing * grabs guitar

Beautiful piece brother. So glad to have met you while in Boone, NC with TE. Is there a story behind this tune? If you can share. Thanks again for sharing your talent. God bless

Why? Standard lesson for intermediate. If your a beginner you should get the tabs and use both but try to listen first. Play with the chords he gives you. He shows each chord but doesn't break down the phrases. Your supposed to listen and start playing with the chord to figure it out. Start picking the chord and you'll hear it. Slow it down even. this lesson is a blessing you just don't know it yet. Not a lot of professional musicians usually do this kind of thing.

Why? He's going slow. It's good for your ear to do it like this. This is a pretty standard lesson for intermediate
