On the one hand I agree with Grischuk. This tournament is played at the worst possible moment. There is risk to the players and support teams, there is reckless behavior by tournament organizers and there is this huge cloud hanging that ongoing pandemic may force the tournament to be abandoned on the virus terms anyway.
On the other hand, these games was one of the last pieces of normalcy in my day. Looking forward to watching these reviews and forgetting even for a short bit the crazy world outside my house was something I really cherish.

Fabi was unlucky to loose a better game against Ding but lucky in this one.... so, it all balances out.... Nepo against Hao missed the best move Kf1, but benefited form a blunder from Hao Qd7 instead of Qe7. Even at this level it's not whether your position is better and whether you started strong, but it's whether you can finish strong

This game is rather unusual and dare I say bizarre. It can never be said that Caruana is afraid to take risks and create imbalances on the board. This is a terrible time for the world and I wonder if perhaps the players are feeling some regret to committing to the event. I could not judge Grischuk if he decided to withdrawal.

The fact Grischuk now want's to stop is beyond me. He knew beforehand what the situation was from the start and after 5 rounds reconsidering his decision is his own fault but a major consequence for the other players. In my eyes he can't stop now as that would be really selfish
