Catholic Spaniard living in USA. I agree 100%. We should love one another. But that does not mean we should tolerate abuse, blasphemy, and evil.
Quite right.
Merci beaucoup chère sœur en Christ!
Love your enemies don't mean love the devils. Love has a vast dimension in its capabilities. You kill them so you stop their bad karma. That's also love. This happened because the european Christians aren't doing anything. Because the evil people knew that Christians won't do anything against it.
I am a United States citizen, and I live in the state of New York. I am a Christian. I did not watch the opening of the Olympics, but I did see a small segment of it to know what happened. I was absolutely appalled, but the word of God says in Galatians chapter 6 verse seven Do not be deceived. God will not be mocked whatever a man sows that shall he reap. At the same time. we are to pray for those that are not believers to come to know their Savior, Jesus, the Christ, the only God, their Creator. Also, He came and died and shed His blood for them just as He shed His blood for all of us, so my prayer is that everyone that was involved in this disgraceful act would be awakened to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, and that they would repent and come into relationship with him as their personal Lord and Savior.
Thank you for your transparency. I don’t believe that anybody on this earth would think that this has to do with being French though I understand your concern. God bless you.

Another country with a strong Christian heritage! ❤ It's wonderful to see believers from around the world reaching out to support each other in this situation.
You notice: all the countries that have a strong Christian heritage, such as Russia, France, the USA, etc. - because of their Christian heritage, satan has a very particularly strong hatred for those countries and has been trying to ruin them as much as he can for centuries. But Jesus always helps those countries prevail in the end. 😊

English Christian here. The Olympics in my home are loved we sit with the programme to see what is been shown when and where and for two weeks we try and watch everything we can and because it was in France it was more or less on our time frame. We fully supported any country who got to host them it is an expensive thing to do now so given the host country support is essential. However since the opening ceremony my family has not watched one single thing. I am appalled not only by the attack on our country which we Brits are so angry about with the boats which as everyone knows is a significant movement in my country which cost the last government their political power they then decided to insult the Christians world wide. I have nothing against any French person but I do have a problem with who ever thought that doing that was a good idea. It was blasphemous rude and downright dangerous. I feel sorry for all the athletes who have trained for years to get to the Olympics and this is what everyone is talking about.
@suzannebaxter2888 no, I do have a problem with true french poeple.

I agree I forgot to mention as a sports fanatic I watch many of the sports but I felt I could not continue watching. I agree with your comment that for so many athletes and there are Christians competing must be hard for them, but also it’s a Praise the Lord that they have shown in different ways they are followers of Christ. I feel for believers in France we need to pray for them after this disgusting mockery of Christian faith.

It wasn’t just a mockery of Christianity, it was a mockery of women and obscene for children to have to watch.
There's someone on X who's saying they're a family member of the child in yellow who is saying they're being trafficked. I don't know if it's true, but it's bad enough that it's believable.
And the male dancing with his privates hanging out of his shorts behind the child.

There were kids involved
There was nothing obscene about it

The people getting apoplectic about it fail to realize that it depicts a pagan party in link with the God of Mount Olympus
I am Jewish and I find the Olympic opening ceremony in Paris disrespectful to Christians. It made a mockery of the last supper by portraying the apostles and Christ as drag queens. No other religion would be treated so disrespectfully.
It was explained as an “inclusive” ceremony but it marginalized and offended Christians.
It wasn't a reference to the Last supper. People talking for nothing.

@@jasperchance3382It was! They tried to wiggle their way out of it by telling it was about another painting: the feast of the gods. That painting doesn't even remotely resembles what they depicted. I am not religious, but I regard what happened at the Olympics as mockery and ridicule of the values of others.
I feel exactly the same, why anyone thought that this was acceptable is seriously out of touch or they are seriously sinister. The double standards being exhibited everywhere currently is nothing less than provocation.
Maybe. But I wonder if it's because the devil is empty and all he can do is mimic or try to emulate greatness. Obviously he can't ever be great, so he just copies.
It would be great if you were religious, but you don't have to believe in God to be a decent, honorable, kind person who possesses common sense as well as having respect for your fellow "man"!! And it appears you do!! We are all on this earth together. Some of us are believers (billions actually) and that ceremony made us look like demonized enemies to their lifestyle!! We are enemies of the indoctrination of children, hatred, debauchery and perversion!! And that's exactly what those parts of that ceremony perpetuated!!
@@Claire90409 According to the Gospel Of Rome or When I Was Growing Up Catholic, The Way The Sisters and Brothers Taught was According To Trent, this condemnation of the Olympics is to earn salvation by good works and reduce time in Purgatory. It is earn one's way to Heaven. A legalistic, anathematizing, Treasury of Merits, outside the Church There Is No Salvation.
In 1510, Brother Martin was sent to Rome. He hiked there...about 700 miles through a severe
winter. He was enthusiastic about his trip to the Vatican. When he first saw the city, he dropped to his knees and said "Hail, holy city of Rome!" Rome--so rich in relics--was a holy supermarket of merits for pilgrims interested in getting to heaven without a detour through purgatory.
Most Christians believed they would go to heaven only if they did more good than evil. And most figured they'd fall short. So when they died, God would need to purge them of their excess sin.
They called this process purgatory and thought of it as thousands of years of misery. To reduce time in purgatory, many tried to pile up good works in this lifetime by venerating relics and doing penance. In Rome, Luther did his Church business. Then, like any earnest pilgrim--he spent his free time visiting relics.
Rather than earning salvation by fasting or doing good works...it's a free gift
to anyone who believes. As this concept of unearned grace took hold, Luther said, "I felt myself to have been born again."
In our Latin Bible, "repent" has come to mean "to do penance." But in the original Greek it
means "to change one's mind"--and that is what Jesus meant.
Jesus didn't ask for penance...works, deeds or rituals...he asks for a simple change of heart. Salvation is not earned by pilgrimages to Rome, veneration of relics, or Masses attended. We need only Jesus Christ. Jesus paid for our sins. Salvation is a gift from God."
The more Martin read the Bible, the more conflict he found between salvation through faith and the Church's salvation through rituals and good works. He kept returning to Romans 3:28:
"A man is justified by faith"...for emphasis, Martin added, "and faith alone." he rejected the idea that Christians must earn salvation through good works.
The Lutheran movement introduced two essential changes: First, salvation is a gift from God--we're saved by our faith--not by good works or sacraments
@@Claire90409I agree, I have been okay with people within a belief system gently teasing one another about traits common within. But that also is a slippery slope. There is something very different between laughing with someone and laughing derisively at someone.

Dear Mr. Estanguet,

So let me get this right; you are now totally intolerant of any criticisms of your religion. Unfortunately, most religions to one degree or another are, and have always been, intolerant of other competing ideas. Islam, for instance, will try to kill you for leaving their loving religion. The christian Catholics of Spain exhibited more than a tad of intolerance during the Spanish Inquisition; one of the main reasons that, at the age of 16, I realized I was an atheist. That way, I can easily tolerate any of these fairy tales that purport to be the "real religion with the one and only god.... etc., etc...
I have found that one of the hallmarks of a religious person is their inability to laugh at themselves, and they of course need to congregate in groups because no single person would possibly believe the concepts of any religion on their own and thus needs to be surrounded and supported by similar minded "believers" in order to buy into that fairytale.
So, if you are hurt by the "mocking" of christians, well, welcome to the club; I've been mocked by many religionists throughout my life for my tolerant views - and I still keep chuckling at the professed tolerance of these hypocrites. I don't see this changing anytime soon. I just sincerely hope our world doesn't enter another era of the "dark ages" when religious intolerance reigns supreme.
@@pixeldoc7119 I understand your point of view and I am sorry you didnt meet decent religious people because our religion says "if you dont love a person you can see how can you love God who you dont see" We are not perfect, that's true. As it happened in your home country of France, I can imagine how bad that feels for you. I for one do not blame the French as a whole, of course, but only the people who organised the opening ceremony. God Bless you. 🙏❤
It's part of the globalist agenda and sadly every country in the west feels the effects.. cheers and God bless from a Pureblood Canadian 👍🙂❤🇨🇦
Love from an Orthodox Christian from Egypt. We are all in this together
Love from an Atheist! I'm so sorry that Christianity was so blatantly mocked and disrespected. It is unacceptable!
Catholic here. Really moved by your comments and love and send much love back to you!
Your sister from Nigeria greets you. Be strong. The body of Christ is under attack but cheer up. We have the victory.

Thank God there are good and sincere people like this in the world. Too bad there are others who want to pervert every good and decent thing. God Bless this good lady.
I am Jewish and was shocked. How can this happen? I don’t believe to show acceptance of one group you have to mock someone else. To me it’s not even religious but a matter of respect. Oh what a failure….and the so called apology was sorely inadequate.
Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper.is not yehusha mate it is leos boyfriend.
@@mrm8850 No painting is the person being portrayed. But it still was meant to depict Christ & His apostles in a sacred and pivotal moment in the Christian religion. If LD’V was gay and used his “boyfriend” as the model-and you know this how?-you’re response to this comment was still just kinda snotty and irrelevant.

@@tbitbi4427 I doubt very much that Leonardo DaVinci was gay. I was just responding to the guy who was suggesting that he was and used his “boyfriend” as the model for Christ. They’re trying to claim all the great figures of Western Civilization were gay these days, aren’t they? I’m with you but maybe some of them were-it doesn’t mean they didn’t live chaste lives and it sure doesn’t denigrate their great works of art and literature.

I agree completely: the shame is not hers. I understand her feeling of shame, though. I am Canadian and have never voted for Justin Trudeau. I still feel profoundly embarrassed every time that he says or does something.
As an Irish Catholic,
Can I thank you for speaking out, the organisers should be ashamed.
Please God your country will reflect on their disgraceful actions.
Perhaps if you read the Bible you'd see St Paul spoke of the Lord's supper not a last supper. The latter is clearly a tradition based on pagan myths.

Thank you for your courage to speak out. 5:56 Greetings from Germany. I watched it a few hours late and asked myself: what the heck is this? 😂 My brain was clicking to decode all the images. By the time that happened, I was not surprised because we learned about the French Revolution and the Reign of Terror in school.
What I find most interesting is the refusal to apologize properly. They take no responsibility for their actions, and hide behind transparent excuses. It is clear what there their values align. So it makes it easier to see and to be „in the world not of the world.“
However, I was glad to hear that French Christians went out to protest. We pray for you in such a society.

I feel so bad for this poor lady, because I’m Canadian and I remember when the Liberal parliament invited and cheered what turned out to be an SS officer in WWII… the embarrassment and shame I felt as a Canadian… so I can imagine how she’s feeling. Also, a fellow Catholic as well. Love from Canada 🍁.
This happened because the total ignorance of it seems everyone in your parliament of basic (very basic) historical facts regarding WW2.
I'm a Canadian and a practicing Catholic too. I agree that that was a really embarrassing moment for us because we are solid supporters of Ukraine and NATO. I personally felt horrified that the PMO's office did not properly vet that particular inductee.
@@vanessagurr8786 oh I’m not a solid supporter of Ukraine and frankly, Zelensky and a few other knew who we were cheering unfortunately. It was embarrassing because our parliament invited and cheered a war criminal, not because we’re unfortunately involved in Ukraine or a NATO member.
Why was he cheered? Did he lie about who he was?
So glad to see a French Christians raise their voice!! The cradle of the Church and of so many saints!
There are many French people who are embarrassed by this.

Thank you for posting this. I’m also a Christian (form the USA) and was appalled to see the debauchery of the Opening Ceremony. They celebrate LUST, HEDONISM, and HEATHENNESS, and they mock our Lord and Savior.

It is also noticeable that only Christianity was singled out for insult and ridicule. The reason is that it is actually intended politically, to undermine and weaken western society and institutions. Christianity is seen as underpinning western values, and is therefore a target. Other religions, especially Islam, are seen as useful tools to undermine western society, and so these are either left alone, or ‘celebrated’ or where needed, excused.
Perfectly said & 100% true.
Absolutely!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍

As an Atheist, I missed the reference, but I agree, offending anyone intentionally or otherwise does not fit the Olympic spirit.
What got me, was the fetishising of a beheaded woman as part of the Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.
Come on, be proud of the revolution, but not everything that happened at the time, that we now should know is/was wrong.
Of the thousands of unjust executions, probably the most unjust was that of the woman that was married at 14 into a dysfunctional royal family of a dysfunctional country and unfairly became the scapegoat of a regime she had no part in creating.
She was Catholic so it's okay to mock her... I say that sarcastically, but that is the message I received
American Catholic here - I've been to Paris many, many times. The French people should not be judged by this. Instead we should judge the Olympics as an organization. They just allowed a male boxer to compete as a woman. She had to quit in 46 seconds - that's how mismatched they were. Time to boycott the Olympics and the advertisers. Budweiser Round 2
Thank you for being courageous and speaking up. I respect that. I agree with you. I don’t understand why they did that and why it was allowed. It is being shoved down our throats and we are supposed to take it. I will not be watching.

From Miami, FL....Greetings My Sister in Christ....I feel your pain, and like other people on here I urge you not to despair, remember we all know that in the end.....Jesus is triumphant !! I also condemn parts of the opening ceremony, but do not blame the people of France for the offensive scenes. I blame the spineless politicians and the disturbed bureaucrats they have appointed to the Ministry of Culture and "organizing committees". These individuals are intolarent, hate families, religion, tradition, culture, etc, etc, etc. We need to pray for them, expose them, and not let them destroy Western Civilization. Do not worry there is a special place in Hell for them. Love You

Good on you for standing up for your faith and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
I haven’t attended church in more than 25 years, but I was raised Baptist and have noticed that somehow people get a free pass to mock Christianity in a way that would never fly with other religions. I thought the “Last Supper” scene from the opening ceremony was distasteful. They could have just had the fashion show part with the drag queens and it would have been fine. That way they could have still been inclusive without mocking the religion of millions of people. I can’t believe that somehow that was approved for the ceremony but also that the network airing it here on a significant time delay included it in the prime time replay. 🤦🏻♀️
They are afraid to insult Muslims though
@@worldview730 They have done it ---Jesus is still their prophet. Hell would have come for them though should it have been directed at Mohammed i agree.
Sorry, but as Christians why do we have to be inclusive. Inclusive in what - drag queens, WOKE community? That is not what our God is about, inclusion of sinful people. Repent and sin no more Jesus said.
That’s just it. If inclusivity was the message, they could have done it in a neutral way that did not insult people of faith. Note, however, that opening ceremonies of Olympics do not normally celebrate drag queens, but the Olympic Games, or Olympic athletes, with a nod to the culture(s) of the host country. Why should the focus be changed?
Thank you for your kind comment. I can’t help thinking about how Jesus was mocked on His way to the cross when he was sacrificing himself for everyone’s sins. So, we’re in good company. I pray God will use this opportunity to bring people into a saving relationship with Jesus. I think people are starting to see the true nature of the kind of people that feel the need to mock God, just as they did 2,000 years ago.
