Warriors were focusing way more on Tatum so brown was able to take advantage of that. Tatum is definitely better offensively, but not by much. I think towards the end of the year they finally found a way to really play off each other which is exciting.
I agree with everything but the Warriors focus. Wiggins is a good defender but Dray was on Brown. Dray is a better defender but Wiggins is a better size match.
I used to think it they were offensively on a similar level but after consistently watching them both be inconsistent I’ve realized Tatum gets so much more defensive attention from opposing teams. It’s actually crazy how different the defensive pressure will change when Tatum gets the ball but that does have to do with his ball stopper like scoring style too
@@stoopconvo2924 brown was getting the same helpside pressure on drives or the same amount of double teams. Draymond was also guarding al horford early in the series and helping off heavy on Tatum. But the warriors were switching on any pin downs and the Celtics knew this so they were attacking Curry a lot of games with brown especially because the warriors left Curry on an island.
@@stoopconvo2924 yeah but they would send help if Tatum drove and he wasn’t able to work through that. Also curry was after switched on JB creating easy driving lanes. I will say, Tatum was able to get some good looks in the mid range that he just bricked.
I’m a Celtics fan and we don’t get anywhere without either one of them! Both of them have their games when they take over and win it, and both of them provide that steady floor of production (among other key players) that together has brought that team to where it is! 😤🍀
Great video! The Jays are one of the best young duos in the league, i still feel like tatum is very passive and brown can be to aggressive. They both should just learn from each others styles in order to get better.
This is the best comment. Brown has go to moves and aggressiveness. Tatum plays basketball more freely and has learned to pass the ball. If they each do what the other does they would be Kobe and tmac on the same team
Tatum has the length and strength advantage against bigger defenders vs Brown. Brown has top tier athleticism and a hot mid range in between game that Tatums still developing. They definitely balance each other out and it’s hard to pick one over the other
Tatum not stronger than brown nor does he have a bigger wingspan. It's his height along with the wingspan that makes him imposing. Brown really 6'5 3/4, 6'6" with long arms that make him seem bigger and helps alot with his posters.
just because jaylen was a worse player early on doesnt mean he's a harder worker, and JT has not plateaued, he's gotten better every year same as jaylen
If you seen both guys progression, you can see the distinct difference they have in terms of hard work and talent. JB worked harder, possibly not a crazy amount more, than JT. That’s how he was able to keep up despite the fact JT is way more talented with frame, athleticism, and offensive bag.
@@ottorocket4456 yeah but tatum came in and went punch for punch with bronbron and damn near won, like the video said jb came in and averaged like 7/2/1. I think bro got a point🤷♀️
@@ottorocket4456 2017 draft class turned out more talented than 2016. Although both are 3rd, Jayson Tatum was arguably the best player in his draft class along with a much bigger ceiling and immediate impact. Jaylen took a few years to get in the groove. He seemed promising but he definitely worked hard to increase his 3 point % from less than 30 to 40. Also you have to think that the Celtics were a high seed team and had the Nets pick so they would have tried to pick someone to help with defense and shooting rather than a project.
I’ve personally got to watch Jaylen brown since my brother played with him since jaylen was in hs and I can say after watching him practice amongst peers like Tatum and other elite talent at top camps (like the USA Olympic team for instance) and he has always had the TALENT!! Simply put, Tatums skill set is more transitional to the nba than jaylen browns… at least for now… they’re both getting better and better and this is only the beginning of their greatness 😭 so just shut up, watch, and admire their game lol
Hear me out, okay? I’m not saying that they’re exactly like them, or ever will be, but Tatum and Brown remind me a lot of Lebron and D-Wade in Miami. You can make a strong case that Lebron/Tatum is the most talented player on his team, but the grit and effort of Wade/Brown make it very close on who is the best. Like Lebron and Wade, I think that Tatum is the best player talent wise, but Brown might be the guy most vital to the team winning
Idk if this is a good comparison bro, Lebron was a hustler just as much as dwade was, and was the best player on the team clear cut. Maybe in 2011, but for the rest of the time together there was never a series where d wade is outperforming Lebron and you have to question if they are on the same level.
@@spiderninja57 really? I feel pre-Big Three that Wade was right behind Lebron in the best player in the league convo, and visibly took a step back to defer to Lebron, who is certainly more talented but Wade’s work ethic and grit made him one of the best in the league. I feel it’s the same with Tatum and Brown, where Tatum is better from a talent standpoint, but like Wade, Brown made himself into that conversation of who is the best
Brown was slowed by all the other stars Boston brought in.. Heyward kemba kyrie tatum.. he had to compete for minutes to develop tatum was given a starting spot ( not saying it wasn't deserved)
but Jayson earned his spot on that same team and took the reins in the playoffs after Kyrie went down. it should be much harder for a 19 year old rookie compared to a Jaylen with a couple seasons under his belt and Jayson STILL became the guy. that speaks more to how good Tatum is. if Jaylen was that good he would have also shined even with the talent around him. also both were 3rd overall draft picks at the same age of 19. Jaylen had to wait longer for his starting spot simply bc he was a very raw prospect while Tatum was NBA ready from day 1. Jaylen wasnt slowed he was always a project pick for us
@@sGzBugz one went to Duke the other went to cal they want tatum to be the guy. So it fit the narrative of brown was given the minutes not everyone else his rise would've been just as fast.
What I like is both players are still getting better. If they both can have a relatively injury-free careers, there is a least one championship in their future together.

Disagree, Tatum already has multiple playoff moments where he's been the guy, including this year's playoffs. One poor Finals performance shouldn't gloss over that, the Cs in general were poor against an experienced Warriors team. I'd still take Tatum, but Brown is probably the best 2nd option you could have.
Tatum didn't plateau, he genuinely had an injury, add that to two tough and physical series vs the Bucks and Heat, he was shot before reaching the Finals. And let's be honest, the Warriors are the Warriors for a reason. Both Tatum and Brown struggled with turnovers as they were tasked with being more aggressive and driving into the paint, be it for the Layup or to kick the ball out to the perimeter. This is a part of their game that they need to continue to develop and last year was part of that learning curve. Over the playoffs Brown was the better player, although both had their ups and down. The loss has made them hungrier and this year they've had their first full off-season in 3 years, hopefully we'll see the fruits of it this season.
Both work hard tho… Jaylen is seen as the harder worker because he wasn’t as good in the beginning while Tatum started good but they BOTH want to be great you can tell they not relying on just Talent
Tatum’s rookie year, in 2018, the Celtics were one of the deepest teams in the league and they were the 2nd seed. Cleveland was (infamously) the 4th seed that year.
And brown needs to become much better at the free throw line. I don't get it for such an elite mid range scorer he barely average 70% from the line.. unacceptable if he ever wants to be elite 😤 and he's my favorite player
Let's not forget Tatum and brown took a step back through the "kryie " era . Basically the I Lynn years they haven't made conference finals were the Kyrie years . Browns my favorite player, I get Tatum can get hit on the offensive side, but brown is a better leader I believe, brown is the only one who didn't back down from the warriors last year, Tatum wants to be buddies with everyone, brown is a little more old school minded. Doesn't hurt that Celtics treat Tatum like a golden boy from day one. I like how they both carry themselves but brown has a little more edge I believe. I'm Soo glad Celtics never traded for brown for KD or anyone else, Durant couldn't handle Boston media and expectations.
When I was watching some of the basketball games like Celtics vs Heat. Jaylen Brown was the one hitting shots when it MATTERED. Anytime when the Celtics needed a bucket when it’s close or in the clutch.
Pretty interesting video, I fw the concept because this entire discourse between Jaylen and Jayson has gone on for what feels like forever - not to mention both are my favorite players in the league - though I'm not entirely sure I agree with your stance. I think my issue with the development arc thing is that development, as an NBA player, isn't linear. I think what creates the idea that Jaylen Brown is the harder worker, he probably is, but still, is that he started his NBA career as a rotation level player (as you mentioned). He has ascended to this All-Star level guy, and rightfully deserves acclaim as a hard worker. But, as you get better, the harder it is to improve, if that makes sense. So Jaylen's constant growth is larger than Tatum's, but that constant growth isn't gonna be as substantial year to year as he gets better. Also, Jayson Tatum made some pretty large strides in his game as well. He was an abhorrent finisher earlier in his career and though he's still not all that great, I think the growth is very apparent. Especially since we've seen his tendencies change and actively trying to adjust to the league's ever evolving state. I don't mind the JT v. JB debate too much in a sense where I don't think we need this debate to begin with. I firmly believe Tatum's the better player - better ball-handler, passer, off-ball defender - but having these arguments, imo, are a very annoying way of breaking apart a ying-yang duo of sorts. They're opposites in terms of personality, approach to basketball, and etc., but that's what makes that duo *work*. I just don't wanna see them apart because of it.
A lot of people underrate Jayson Tatum’s defense, but as a Celtics fan, they work so well together and bounce off of each other. Without JT, there’s no JB. Without JB, there’s no JT!
I rly enjoyed the video bro love the deep dive into each player personally I like browns play style better but I think they have two top 20-30 players in the league and they can do great things in the league
Well, enjoy the new sub for actually doing a video that most have just simply eluded to in passing conversation. Your commentary as well is impeccable. It sets up quick and gets to the meat and potatoes in a comforting way. Good style :) you’ll make it, good b-ball content is hard to come by xD
I would say the jays are the same level with Tatum being better only because Tatum has a better handle and a better passer. He also is just a better “face” for the Celtics then Jaylen is. Honestly they are both so young still so only time will tell who is better. They really just need to learn to play off each other.
She doesn't really have a better handle they're both turnover prone they're both prone to dribble a ball off their foot while driving the ball they're the same player this different positions.
@@jadensity847 Jaylen is a batter defender. Tatum just has size over him but Jaylen is a better Defender overall. Also I Saw at least 75+ games last season hbu?
i just have to say great video man, ur hella underrated and knowledgeable about ball you’ve definitely gained a sub and a loyal fan. looking forward to more content keep up the grind 👏🏻🤟🏻🔥🔥
I think a lot of this is the narrative shifting because of bad Tatum looked in the finals. I’d still take tatum even though I accept that the biggest stage is where you want to be your best. But I’ll take the consistent higher scoring tatum provided for the entire season. Not to mention that if you want to focus on the finals. Draymond himself said the series flipped when they just started forcing Brown to his left. And from that point on in game 4 the series was pretty much done. For me it’s tatum moving forward. To Brown’s credit though I say he’s a more consistent player overall. But I expect that gap to narrow as they get older and more experienced
Draymond basically said the same thing about Tatum, the only difference is that with Brown the Warriors still couldn't stop Brown; however, they were able to stop Tatum because Tatum is not as athletic as Brown. Both need to improve their game when using their left hand.
It was still a skill issue because even when he got the minutes his shot was still meh and his bag of moves was nonexistent. He worked with tmac and some others summers after and now his offense has blossomed. The keys should go to him imo. He has the heart of a Celtic and he showed it in the last game. Tatum bailed while JB fought till the end. I like Tatum but doing shit like texting the late kobe and posting it is not only cringe, but a misrepresentation of Kobe. Kobe would have gave it his all in that last finals game. I’m sure he would approve of JB’s efforts
@@J4htheartist inconsistent minutes lead to inconsistent results. His role his minutes and his usage all fluctuated throughout his rookie season because he was on a very good team. It wasn't like Tatum's rookie year when injuries opened up a defined role.
@@TheRealMRGG85 Tatum was always going to get that spot. He came out of Duke already polished with a bag that a lot of players don’t get till 3 years down the road. Brad already had it in the plans to make him “that guy” once the season ended . IT was basically the only guy carrying our Celtics squad. Our team wasn’t that deep in terms of players getting plays called for them. If brown had the skill he would have been a bigger piece. Like I said his shot still was iffy and his handles were simply not there yet. Tatums rookie year was more stacked yet he was given the same touches as brown and minutes. Kyrie, Marcus Morris, Terry, and Al were all capable bucket getters at that time, yet Brad still found a way to get Tatum touches. Of course the Hayward injury aided in helping Tatum get minutes, but if anything more of haywards mins should have went to brown. That only tells me that from practice, Brad still saw that JB needed to show more improvement. I’m telling you JB worked his ass off multiple summers just to reach Tatums level. That right their is heart and dedication. Imo both him and Tatum are on the same level, but I rather have JB get the keys to the offense.
@@J4htheartistTatum was mostly 3 and D his first year wasn't much getting into his bag, but no he wasn't going to start over Gordon Hayward and Marcus Morris senior who was also injured to start that season. IT wasn't even on the team he got traded in the offseason. they where going to build around Kyrie Gordon Hayward and Al horford not Jason Tatum what are you talking about complete revisionist history. The real plan was to trade Jason Tatum and jaylen Brown for Anthony Davis.
@@TheRealMRGG85 Bro Jaylen brown was drafted in 2016, was he not. IT was on that team and he was the main go to scorer that could create for himself. JB averaged 17 mpg. What I’m saying is if his skill was up to par, he would have more usage on that 2016 team. If Tatum was drafted in 2016 instead of brown, Tatum is being used more plain and simple. Saying Tatum was only a 3 and D player coming into the league is laughable. Was his bag as deep as it is now? No, but he was doing far more moves compared to a rookie JB who was mainly a slashing defender. JB also struggled from the line his rookie year. Tatum started 80 games in his rookie year. Even when Marcus Morris was healthy he still got plenty minutes and the starting job. AD was off the table once the Celtics got rid of IT. AD’s camp made it known. As for the drafting of Tatum ainge saw Paul Pierce like potential in him and pulled the trigger. Even if Hayward was healthy Jayson Tatum is the 6th man without a doubt. The man finished 3rd in rookie of the year on a stacked team. Ainge and brad knew what Tatum could bring right away. Getting Hayward was simply them being greedy.
Are you actually saying that someone that has been highly regarded as a top player his whole life, Including being a high draft pick, isn't as talented as his peers?? That's absurd.
Alot of people love to just gas up Tatum, and make him out to be top 5 in the league. But in reality…he hasn’t really added anything new to his game. He still settles for tough shots, misses easy layups, and hangs his head if he doesn’t get bailed out with a call. I don’t think he’s better then Jaylen, and get sick of seeing people gloss over his flaws.
I think getting to the championship may be a little bit of a curse. Their offense is very difficult most nights so I just think they should start incorporating more of an offensive flow. Let's say those shots aren't falling. Okay, now iso. The isos stop falling, maybe iso Brown instead of Tatum or vice-versa or go back to the set plays. Or trickle in isos around set plays to keep defense on its toes and the offense more involved. Idk I don't watch them a whole lot but it's a major criticism I hear.
I completely agree! The run was against the nets with 3 guys under 6'3 being attacked by switches. They beat Milwaukee w/o Middleton and beat the Heat who can barely score 90 at times. I hope that nba/celtics fans cool off with high expectations bc other teams got better as well. As far as Tatum it was the first real superstar moment in the playoffs and ppl thought they were seeing the best player in the league while hes more like top 12.
@@philmoe nets were favored, bucks were favored, heat were favored. Stop making excuses. How come the 6’3 guards on the warriors didn’t fold on defense? They had a great run last year and got better this year. And no one was calling Tatum the best player in the league, every other game he was called overrated. This is a great example of revisionist history, you’re revising what happened in real life to fit your narrative. Ignorant
@@SamUHells You're also revising that the Bucks were favored thinking that Middleton could come back by game 6. The Heat were favored because they were deep but they lost because they were unhealthy. The Celtics definitely got better in a lot of ways, but as far as I heard about their offense, it was still all iso and on occasion actually playing as a team during the season. From what I could tell, it was iso only in the playoffs and they were stagnant often. All people are saying is to temper expectations despite an incredible run and you're defensive for no reason. Just neck tattoo Celtics 2023 champs or whatever.
@@alexsmith3598 nah I’m not being defensive I’m calling you out on your blatant inaccurate facts. Celtics offense only struggled in the finals. They were the number 1 defensive team and added a better backup guard than Pritchard. Now expectations are in question cause of ime udoka suspension, but they got better in every way in the off-season.
I'm glad we finally got this discussion cause I been saying every year Tatum made an all-star team that you can't have him without Brown being on the team. They pretty equal like Lavine and Derozan.
All last year they were saying the east was better than the west. Bucks, Celtics, overrated, and Nets fell apart. No one thought the sixers would take it.
Both Tatum and Brown are exceptionally talented players, but the difference in the warriors and the Celtics is 1. Experience, 2. physicality, and 3. Mental fortitude. The Warriors are just downright a more physically and mentally tough team. People can talk trash about Draymond, but dude's from Michigan, and no doubt he grew up a Piston fan idolizing that bad boy style of basketball, and the one thing he truly brings to the Warriors, aside from his actual game, is his mentality, and the whole team feeds off it. The warriors came out of the gates playing hard physical defense, and more specifically, they focused Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum with hard defense and tough fouls, every single game in the series where the officiating was "playoff officiating" the Warriors won. Even when Marcus smart started flopping, Jordan Poole started flopping right back and got easy foul calls. They're not afraid to get down and dirty, and you even see how it affected Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins went from a guy oozing with talent, but doing nothing to capitalize on it, to a physically imposing defender that can get you buckets when you need them, he became a legit tough player after joining the Warriors. To be honest, 50% of what makes a championship team a championship team is their mentality, their identity. The reason the Bucks are a championship team is because they may not be as talented as some other NBA teams on paper, but they have an identity, they're tough, and they live and die by their brand of basketball, the Celtics haven't been able to find theirs yet.
Appreciate that. Definitely thinking of going towards a Sports niche. Testing out how a football video will do on Tuesday. If it flops, likely that I would stick around basketball. Do you think the channel name still works regardless though?
@@underdogbase absolutely, I’m no expert but it has a nice ring to it & you already have a series going with the two superstar players and breaking them down. Next you can do PG and Kawhi
Appreciate the tip! Honestly, could you elaborate? I've had a few people say this and I'm not sure what they mean by the transitions. Is it the verbal segways or when the text pops up in between the segments? Thanks again bro!
they're both great keep both of them. brogdon was an excellent pickup and robert williams will continue to improve and hopefully stay healthy. i have the celtics going back to the finals. Great video
Jaylen brown was the number 2 player in his class behind Ben Simmons he’s always had talent he’s always been as good as he is it’s just these past couple years he has had opportunity
Great video, but I actually feel like both JT and JB are stars that require another star to win a chip because of their play styles. Obviously, JT without brown is taking the Celtics to a 5ish seed, and, as seen in the finals, brown without JT isn’t good enough against the best of the best. The teams that they’re on need them and another almost more than all star caliber player to reach the promised land, and with JT not playing at that level in the finals, Brown had to put the team on his back against one of the best players/teams of all time
Tatum is better, there's a difference being the number 1 focus from opposing defenses vs number 2. Tatum had more responsibility and the lack of a playmaking point guard forced him to be more of a ball handler which is something he isn't used to. The difference between the 2 is mindset. Tatum gets in his own head whereas brown is more aggressive at times and just plays without a conscience. Tatum also drives with the intent to get a foul call but brown is trying to score. When Tatum is aggressive he's unstoppable which is why he has the most 50 point games in the last 3 yrs. He has a higher IQ also and defensively they're probably even now. Brown plays to his offensive strengths better at times because he's more athletic. I'd like to see Tatum use his size more, especially in the mid range instead of taking so many contested 3s. The missed layups and inconsistency from Tatum is what makes brown more efficient. Tatum is more polished and has a better arsenal and more of a playmaker is what makes him better
No way did you say Tatum has a higher iq 😂. The bucks literally gave Tatum mid range looks from a drop coverage and he didn’t capitalize on it. He would go into the post game and say he sees it and will take it next game only for him not to take it. It took him a game 6 to actually start taking those shots. If khris played we’d for sure lose. As for the playmaking, Marcus smart was doing excellent in that department until he messed up his leg in the bucks series. Hence why Tatum had to take on that responsibility in the heat series and he didn’t do too bad for that being a different area for him. I agree Tatum drives to get a foul, but you also forgot to mention he argues afterwards and let’s the other team get a fast break. Literally him and grant hurt our team and cost us games doing that. That my friend is not high iq. A guy like kawhi who gets slapped up will rarely complain. Jaylen brown has more heart and that’s what people are failing to mention. JB bailed us outta so many games in the playoffs it’s actually sickening that Celtics fans were talking about sending him to Brooklyn for KD. I think both players are great and on the same level, but I’m taking JB over tatum because of the heart alone. Jaylen brown doesn’t get nearly the amount of plays called for him, yet he goes out and shows he’s that guy if given a chance. Tatum has more potential on the playmaking side, but they both can improve. I like both players but I’m just tired of seeing people(not you) hype up Tatum, when clearly he lacks the heart of a Celtic.
@@J4htheartist jb iq isn't the best because of him not realizing confidence over making the right decision. Jb will literally try to force his way in between 2 defenders and turn the ball over. Then come right back and do it again. I saw him try to do that on a fastbreak with help and hurt his own ankle. Both can improve in IQ area but I'd take tatums. Also brown has the heart but that doesn't always equal talent at times which is why his record without tatum is 7-13. Now tatum has a losing record also at 6-7 but even then his numbers are still slightly better. And lastly I like smart creating plays when he actually does it. Because he likes to take stupid shots as well. Hopefully adding brogdon will help a lot with playmaking
@@Jesussing16 You call JB out on that which is valid, but whar about Tatum taking multiple stepback 3’s against a shorter guy like Steph curry. He can literally back down Steph and get to the paint. That right there is forcing the offense. But like I said his finishing is a weak point , he’s learning a floater for that reason. I find that JB has reckless plays like that out of urgency. When he feels the team is dead he tries to be extra aggressive, sometimes is works sometimes it doesn’t, but I will still tie that in with heart. Is it smart of course not, but a sense of urgency is there and their is a chance of a reach in foul. Also It’s not as if he’s doing these things every game. It’s literally when the Celtics team is lackadaisical and he’s trying to create a spark. In the playoffs he’s had many huge 4th quarter games and those turnovers followed with it, but in some of those games he gave the team life and they started to help him. The 7-13 record doesn’t tell the whole story. Everyone knows Tatums usage is higher and he has the keys to the offense. Browns steady improvement has shown he is deserving of the keys which means more play calls for him. In the games Tatum is out, brown is still probably asked to play within the system. The bucks game where brown went ballistic and took tatums touches and torched every bucks defender is a glimpse as to what he can do when given the keys. I think after watching JB pour his soul out in the finals, I think Ime will consider giving JB more offensive freedom.
Only casual fans or those trying to sell a show are saying this. Tatum was getting boxed by 3 players at all times he was on the court. Brown had complete freedom to go 1 v 1. The second Warriors took that defense and did it to Brown we saw Tatum go off. When reversed Brown didn’t go off enough to force the Warriors out of that defense. They knew Brown wouldn’t carry them how Tatum would. Go watch how the Warriors would go on runs when Brown was expected to carry the Celtics as Tatum rested. The Celtics had to shorten Tatum’s rest minutes. Anyone knowing these facts and still making this point need to look in the mirror to see what a hater looks like
I gotta say the difference is that Jaylen isn’t in the spotlight so he has more room to fail, I feel they both have superstar potential but JT is in the spotlight more so he’s not allowed the failures that are necessary for players to grow. He hasn’t even hit his prime yet, most primes are between 27-33 and he’s what 24-25?
I disagree, the Celtics, the Celtics Media, and the Celtics fan base has always been very negative towards Browns, while they always make excuses for Tatum and are always giving him a pass...
@@is.that.Mazzi. Yea, I agree with you MazzinBoston, no one really cares about Brown...look at the chumps that the Celtics are trying to trade for him....players like Rondo, Adam Morrison, Slava Medvedenko, Carmelo Anthony...Brown has to step up his game so that teams will offer better players....
I think people completely rely on the total turnovers record just because it fits a narrative, but are quick to ignore that JT was the only real ball-handler/playmaker throughout that run even though he is definitely still a massive work in progress with that part of his game. I think they should be more focused on his total minutes played which is top 20 all-time for playoff runs (and he “supposedly” was dealing with a hurt shoulder while doing it) when they question his leadership and dedication. He has passive problems and inconsistencies, always has, but they both do and still there was a reason he was 1st team All-NBA and ECF MVP lol. Well done video!

Tatum had a fractured wrist and a shoulder injury but never said it or complained about it during the the playoffs. You can’t say he used that as an excuse, dude tried to power through it. A lot of Celtics did that whole playoff run
They’re the best duo in the NBA And in terms of the NBA finals if they focused on shutting down Jaylen Brown the Celtics win the championship obviously they’re going to try to stop Tatum
as a celtics fan thats watched every game both have played in, they are both elite wings. Jayson is obviously a god at scoring but Jaylen has an ability to impose his physicality at times as well as hit 3s when you play his dribble drive.

Imagine a dragon ball fusion of them two lol, the undisputed goat.

Nah I actually really like the comparison! Good take
Idk if this is a good comparison bro, Lebron was a hustler just as much as dwade was, and was the best player on the team clear cut. Maybe in 2011, but for the rest of the time together there was never a series where d wade is outperforming Lebron and you have to question if they are on the same level.
@@spiderninja57 also valid bro
@@spiderninja57 really? I feel it’s the same with Tatum and Brown, where Tatum is better from a talent standpoint, but like Wade, Brown made himself into that conversation of who is the best
Lebron was better than Wade lmao. Tatum and Brown you can’t really say who’s “better”. Lebron was simply Wade’s big bro

I honestly would take brown over Tatum. I think they’re even overall, but Brown seems to have more of that Dog and IT factor in him than Tatum
I think the whole “Batman & Robin” conversation is a sneaky tactic to divide teammates so I hate when I see former players engaging in that
Exactly
Tatum didn't plateau, he genuinely had an injury, add that to two tough and physical series vs the Bucks and Heat, he was shot before reaching the Finals. And let's be honest, the Warriors are the Warriors for a reason.
Both Tatum and Brown struggled with turnovers as they were tasked with being more aggressive and driving into the paint, be it for the
Layup or to kick the ball out to the perimeter. This is a part of their game that they need to continue to develop and last year was part of that learning curve.
Over the playoffs Brown was the better player, although both had their ups and down. The loss has made them hungrier and this year they've had their first full off-season in 3 years, hopefully we'll see the fruits of it this season.
I like brown more than Tatum.. at this pace he’s gonna go way past what Tatum can do
Both work hard tho… Jaylen is seen as the harder worker because he wasn’t as good in the beginning while Tatum started good but they BOTH want to be great you can tell they not relying on just Talent
Tatum’s rookie year, in 2018, the Celtics were one of the deepest teams in the league and they were the 2nd seed. Cleveland was (infamously) the 4th seed that year.
Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard
That’s the rule!!
Thing with Tatum is he's talent plus he works hard. Give him a few more years
Even on 2k, Tatum stats overblown, Jaylen much scarier.
I definitely think Tatum better. Brown isn’t the creator Tatum is. But he one of the best 2nd options in the league fs
Paul George and kyrie are better 2nd options
I’m a Boston fan and I’m so happy about that JB didn’t get traded. I remember the rumours and I was scared lol
I find that when most people say Jaylen ie as good as Tatum, they're not giving Jaylen his props, they're disrespecting Tatum
I personally have only every said that to elevate Brown
Fact
Glad you enjoyed bro

I would say the jays are the same level with Tatum being better only because Tatum has a better handle and a better passer. He also is just a better “face” for the Celtics then Jaylen is. Honestly they are both so young still so only time will tell who is better. They really just need to learn to play off each other.

Never watched one of your videos but that intro goes crazy
I think it's like comparing Gordon Hayward before injury & Jimmy Butler, it's close
Tatum is the FACE but we all know who the HEART is
Browns rookie your numbers was never a skill issue it was a usage issue and if I remember correctly he still made one of the all rookie teams.

This video was really well put and educated, good job man💪🏾
I think getting to the championship may be a little bit of a curse.
It's literally what they're doing last season
Appreciate the tip bro. Will do next time!

Very valid bro
I disagree, the Celtics, the Celtics Media, and the Celtics fan base has always been very negative towards Browns, while they always make excuses for Tatum and are always giving him a pass...
how do you have more room to fail if you're on the trade block every year?
@@glamfun no one cares about the dude about to get traded. That’s why a lot of his achievements go unrecognized
They Tryna force an introvert JT to be the Main man when it’s really JB THE CHOSEN ONE ☝🏽
If i hadda build a team round Tatum or Brown am picking Tatum every time
I think people completely rely on the total turnovers record just because it fits a narrative, but are quick to ignore that JT was the only real ball-handler/playmaker throughout that run even though he is definitely still a massive work in progress with that part of his game.
Jaylen Brown for me!!! But I’m happy they are both on my favorite team an hope they stay here long term even career.
Now people saying what I have been saying for a long time ,jalen brown is a much better player than jason tatum, the only thing I have with him driving the ball to the basketball with two three players circling he will loose the ball or miss
That's where he need to adjust himself this year
a classic i don’t know ball i know narratives video
great video loved watching it
Glad you enjoyed it!
Tatum had a fractured wrist and a shoulder injury but never said it or complained about it during the the playoffs. You can’t say he used that as an excuse, dude tried to power through it. A lot of Celtics did that whole playoff run
Cappppp he cappped out
No one is playing wit a fractured risk stfu
They’re the best duo in the NBA
And in terms of the NBA finals if they focused on shutting down Jaylen Brown the Celtics win the championship obviously they’re going to try to stop Tatum
Ive been waiting on someone to talk about this
Thanks bro!
They both have talent. They both were the #3 pick the years they got drafted and could’ve went higher
as a celtics fan thats watched every game both have played in, they are both elite wings. Jayson is obviously a god at scoring but Jaylen has an ability to impose his physicality at times as well as hit 3s when you play his dribble drive.
Just by the thumbnail you got it.That’s exactly the way to describe them
Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard
Fire intro 😎
You already know bro!
Tatum’s turnovers are overblown considering they played 2 game 7 series.obviously you’re gonna turn the ball over more if you’re playing more games.
Very fair bro good point
that quote about being frustrated with tatum because he isnt being who he is capable of being is exactly how us sixers fans felt about ben
@j gray u gotta be kiddin right LMAO the best player for HALF THE SEASON??? Nah. He was great but cmon now.
Dw I'm watching Tatum go 0-10 rn against the Sixers. Celtics in 7.
Robert Williams is all ima say 🥶
Sorry so late, Subbed!, bruv, I love your content🔥🔥🔥
Jaylen was a Rookie playing behind Morris and crowder
Tatum is just a taller Brown, they pretty much have the same skillset and moves, Jaylen is better at finishing where JT is a better shooting
jt is slightly better at just about everything aside from finishing and much better at playmaking
@@brandobuckz3857 i didnt mean same exact level at everything but yeah Tatum is the better overall player but Jaylen could very well become better, we have no clue.
They both are very talented, the truth that nobody wants to say is that Jalen is the better player, Taytum is so inconsistent but because of his height and length, they think he is better but actually overhyped.
