Proper heavy metal
I saw Priest for the 1st time Nov. 1, 1979 at the Triangle Theatre in Rochester, NY. I was with 2 of my buddies and we each took 2 hits of acid before the show. The venue allowed the audience to get right up to the stage so we wrestled our way up and stood right in front of K.K. Downing the whole show. During some of his solo's, K.K. came over to us and would kneel down and let us touch his guitar and whammy bar while he was playing the solo. Totally blew our minds!
After the show as we were walking out my one buddy ran his hands through his hair(it was 1979 we all had long hair back then) and low and behold he found one of K.K.'s picks.
Needless to say, it was a special night in our young lives. I've been hooked on the band ever since.

I waited 30 years to hear Priest play this song live; in particular, "The Riff." After the final note faded into the night, I made eye contact with an elderly man standing just a few feet away. He smiled, he cried a single tear, and then he laid down and died. The last item on his bucket list had been fulfilled.

I love all these fellas (and Les Binks) - my life and, and no doubt yours, would not have been the same (as good!) without them. I am in fucking awe of them all here. I remember making myself wake up at 6 am back in 78 to creep down stairs at home to play Stained Class on my mums crappy tape player. Beautiful moments indeed. To those who are on the outside and don't get it it may seem cheesy and a bit silly, but fuck me there is SOMETHING about the Priest that is incredible special. I will never not love them. I remember listening to it in the early 80s with my headphones on as it went back and forth from one ear to the other. "The riff" is unexpected, totally superfluous, and perfect in every way.

That's priest live, Rob Halford and the band are perfect. 🎸👿🤘🤘 I ve seen them in 2004 in Germany, at the Sports hall in Böblingen. Absolutly genius and the best i've ever seen. That's Real Metal perfectly performed. 😎

Saw them in 1980, Odessa Texas, Rob roles out on the Harley Davidson sticks the Mic to pipes and revs it up. Opening song was Rocking after midnight; I do not believe any metal group could ever eclipse these four main Corp members ever. And so an era has passed but their music will live on forever......this song in particular sums up their superiority in short order. Long live the the Metal God's the Ahlla Tollas of Rocking Rollas, Priest!!!!
