    I supplemented my running with skipping rope. It really helped build lower leg stability.

    What is her bike like? Is she going too hard in this disciple? Surely that would affect her running, maybe it’s a case of pacing herself better?

    I would suggest her bike needs work seeing as she can run well anyway. Surely the poor ironman run is coming from being massively fatigued from the bike. Hence work more on the bike not the run?

      Yeah I'm surprised Dave didn't pick up on this. It's obvious. She can run a 3.03 marathon, nothing wrong with her run training.

    Subtly negative splits , decrease interval as training block advances. No drama Rama. Do enough work, not more than enough

    It could be because :
    she wasn't able to reach the minimum and necessary volume of training prior to the race
    she went too fast on the bike
    she didn't train on the bike enough
    she didn't feed correctly
    ps : why bother with hill training? one can just add series of sprint intervals for the same result.
