  • This quick video shows how much it cost to heat my Pole barn for Oct-Nov 2019 with a temperature difference of 19 degrees. Pole barn is set at 58 degrees and daily avg temp was 39 . The numbers are off a tiny bit as I added in a decoupling adjustment so instead of $37.40 it is $36.72, for those guys that will point it out! This is a quick estimate and if your bill is ridiculously higher then there is a problem!
I will figure out a formula that incorporates the temp heating difference as we know that if the avg daily temp is 20 degrees, the heating costs will be higher! So I want to get a few more months of data to figure that out. BUT if you live in MN , then this will be a good comparable!
As always please like and subscribe to help me out! Thanks for watching

How’s your WiFi with the metal building?
Try lutron caseta switches then use google home speaker to turn the lights on and off 😁👌🏼

Wifi works good as I have it setup with a router in shop. Now I cannot get a signal from cell towers as it is basically a Faraday cage , so I need to switch it to wifi once inside building, unless you like the peace and quiet of your cell not ringing!

What are you using to heat it? Boiler in floor? Or a radiant tube?

I use a thermal mass radiant floor with a natural gas tankless / boiler heater. I have the Tubes in sand about 12" below the concrete surface , so heating the sand bed which acts like concrete

Do you have a breakdown of what it cost to build this? Im from NW Minnesota

I am going to do a future cost breakdown video within a few months. The shell of building was 45K and I did garage doors myself and cost of that was 3K. The building materials would of been around 33-35K , but I would of had to rent post hole diggers, crane, lift, etc.. so paid a company around 8-10K in labor. Took them 3 days initially , where it would of took me 3 months!

@@JasonRUclips I'm assuming the 33-35K is only for the building not including concrete? How much was it to have concrete poured not including your in-floor heat? Thanks

@@TRAPMASTER792 Concrete cost me about 16K . That is with the outside parking pad , sidewalk and floor. ( 4200 sq ft) My floor is around 5" deep . Concrete labor and material cost is around $5-$7 a foot for 4" thick. Fiber Concrete is only around $135 a yard , but labor is about the same cost as the concrete
