The reason for distortion even after speaker driver update is due to the sound imbalance of its board. Maybe using a mini 3W amplifier would fix this problem.
And for the bass, a passive radiator could be placed below. It can give the booming effect when keeping it in the corner of a room.
I bought a bottle Bluetooth a year ago and it stopped charging. I'm glad I found this because that bottle is discontinued and I love it tbh. I get to now replace the battery🥰🥰🥰

It would have been better to hand make your own speaker or buy a better speaker.
After the upgrade, the speaker rattles and still has weak sound (the new speaker was smaller).
Good idea. Sometimes, I have a speaker with good looking but its sound is very bad. So that, I replace the speaker inside with a high quality one!
My issue with this speaker is just the small battery. Was thinking of doing the same upgrading it. Thanks for the dismantling how-to! *two thumbs up. And I also have to mention the much better sound with speaker change! Well done!

You should use a speaker with the same size, then stronger than 5W. But i think the distortion is due of that the speaker is blocked by the gride. You should put your speaker behind your plastic piece.
Powerful magnet makes a speaker more genuine. I replaced my speaker same way as yours.
Just listen to the speaker because he can't talk, always makes for the best instructional videos
I did exactly, except for the battery, i can’t seems to find a smaller size battery here, i go with the same mAh but big size and end up placing my battery outside the unit. , the 1.5” speaker sounds a little bit better than the original stock one which is causing a distortion sound during 70% of volume, the smaller speaker sounds less distorts and I eneded up playing my speaker for almost 17 hours straight. 😁
Compared to the originals battery which last for 2 hours only.
Just something that might help. Maybe try measuring how high the old speaker is and find one the same size.

hello...good video...thats my question...I have a blue piston bluetooth speaker...similar to this device...work fine...but,my blue piston have just one speaker...I open it and I noted just two audio cables to the speaker...(not three as in one stereo device)..my question is...there is a way that my blue piston become STEREO???...or the input signal is already in mono???...I would like to make my bluetooth speaker stereo with sum another speaker...
Esa placa elctronica usa un ic LTK8002D de 2Watts RMS, mucho parlante le pusiste, se nota que se escucha mejor los bajos, pero la unica mejora que note fue el cambio de bateria que le pusiste ya que aumenta su tiempo de duración xD

After the upgrade it does sound more distorted but the cause of it is the Amplifier Board,The Speaker Enhanced the sound of the amplifier but the amplifier is a cheap and bad quality one. For the best audio quality try finding a better amplifier board because that one sure messed up the sound.

I'd like to know how to do the modular buddy jack system. Even though I don't think it's possible. I have two of them as well. Both on and connected to my phone thru bluetooth. And only one plays at a time. Even connected them to each other diffrent ways using the usb ports and only one keeps playing while the other just keeps flashing even though its still connected. I was hoping there'd be a video tutorial on youtube. Plenty of videos showing these mini speakers yet none showing the buddy-jack system.

i also want to do something like that i have lots of speakers lying around 10 years old, with just 2 wires coming out and the speakers are of top quality lying around with no use, i have to just change the bluetooth module that is easily available for 100 rupees and one good power bank type battery to keep it running for playing for at least 10 hours...thats it so total cost i think should be around 500-1000 indian rupees around 10 dollars but it will be home made powerful speakers...

Actually i have one of these(not the same,but the same brand) and I can't even get it to work...like i even tried with micro SD card and it was buffing.
Try to add some damping material e.g. cotton buds.
It will improve the sound quality!

the last speaker is better than the full range cause the bigger head is better for more vibration so that the full range is low vibrate weak range

It even might not be 3w and you just replace with 5w speaker that will lack quality

Guys don’t hate too much.. the speaker didn’t sound good either way, upgraded or not. He did make it sound more clear and more bass but there was a little rattle and distortion. So was there even before he upgraded it,
Before upgrade: This speaker has weak bass and low sound
After upgrade: This speaker has more bass and distorting sound
Your idea is not that bad, but it dont work very well.
What about to spend 10 bucks for speaker instead of buying one for 5 and do 5 dollar upgrade?

The $5 upgrade didn't actually do much to increase the quality of the sound output. The "new" speaker cone was too small. The only thing you have now is a crap speaker with a big battery, instead of a crap speaker with a small battery.

The big speaker was 4 ohms 3W, this was too weak
The smaller speaker was 4 ohms 5W, which is more powerful.
But it would have been better to get a larger speaker at 5W.
