I understand: I ended up teaching myself how to read Katakana in order to play a Japanese game, took a long time to memorize all the characters but I'm pretty fluent now; it's a great help in understanding what's being said in much Japanese text, and I've been trying to correlate the Hiragana characters to the Katakana primarily to better recognise HoloJP Members' names in text now!
