I actually love Calendula Tea. These look so very creamy, even though they are hard. Sure to be a hit for those with Allergies and for Babies. I am currently gently infusing Coffee beans. I am not in a hurry because of other projects. So many ideas, not enough hours. Cheers!
I would love to be able to drink things like Calendula or Chamomile tea but any of those petals from the Aster family make me beyond nauseous 🤢 I have been meaning to make a coffee infusion for a while now - I bet it smells wonderful.
Im super excited to make this soap! I just bought my first bag of calendula ❤ loved your tutorial. Im extremely sensitive to smells, so i have been researching ways to have natural scents come through without fragrance or essential oils.
What a lovely simple soap, Keely! What I've heard about 100% olive oil soaps is that they need to cure for much longer because if you use them after a regular cure, they can be very slimy. Even when I made a soap that is 70% olive they have a bit of that sliminess after a 6 week cure so I leave them longer.
@@emilyfleischmann one year is based on full water. I know a few other makers that cure for even less as there is so little water. I have had sample pieces that I tried every month throughout the cure to see the texture as it cures.
Keeley I love you , your channel , your soaps and beauty products so much Please please please please wear long sleeves when you are doing the lye water I really do not want you to get burnt or hurt in any way darling This soap is so luxurious might have to get some of this one 😊
Thank you for your concern. This was filmed back in Summer and was just too hot for long sleeves. Have you ever noticed even when I do have long sleeves on, they get rolled up to my elbows 🙃 I hate the feel of sleeves around my wrists
Great jop. So easy so elegant.. but it was need to time before cutting...also I liked to infused olive oil but may be will losses amount of oil and some parts of calendula inner oil 😢.ths so much God bless you.
I buy my paper from a local food packaging supplier. Check your local area for food packaging suppliers. You can get Calendula petals at most soap supply businesses like Heirloom
Have you ever tried making a tea with your calendula petals and then using that water as your lye water. I’ve done it a few times now and it works out great.
That's a great idea. I usually use infused oils in my body products so usually always have some to hand but this is a good alternative for a last minute soap
Love the colour! I have been infusing olive oil with calendula the patient way - or possibly because I keep forgetting to use it lol I like the sound of that silicone paper you're using. I have a roll of freezer paper but it's too precious to use lol
Thank you 🧡 I've tried thw patient way but always end up with horrible bits. That freezer paper is so expensive. I pay about $30 for 120m of my silicone paper
It really depends on the botanicals. Some need to be fresh but you have to watch they don't spoil or affect the life of the oil. Dry is usually better as there is no extra liquid from the plants
@@SoyandShea oh that poor single bar cutter... It was like "Worst. Snack. EVER! Momma said to bite it but every time I try it tries to pull the only tooth I got in my head right out! *whimper cries* And I couldn't leave until I cleared my plate too..." 🤣
I must say that the way u lined your soap box is by far the best demonstration I’ve ever seen. Ten thumbs up 💕👍🏾💕
Thank you 🧡 took me a while to work out a simple way that worked every time.
Very elegant! I love plain soap. 👏
Thank you 🧡 Simple can be best some times
I love simple elegance. And this soap is that!!!
Thank you
I love calendula infused olive oil soap it is so luscious ! Have a great weekend keeley ❤️
I always have some infused. It smells so good. Hope you have a great one too 🧡

It's very difficult to get natural smells to hold in soap but I have found calendula and chamomile do. Cocoa butter also gives a rich creamy aroma 🧡
Lovely soap Keeley, I bet it is as creamy as it looks. Once again, great work. Look forward to the next soap :)
Thank you 🧡 I've got a bar in my bathroom and it's so lovely
Ah there is nothing like a beautiful simple bar soap. 🥰🥰
Thank you 🧡
That's going to be a lovely bar of soap
Thank you 🧡 I do have a bar in my shower and love it
I love infused oils, very nice. TFS
Thank you 🧡 infused oils are so good for all sorts of products
You can buy freezer paper from Spotlight ( in Victoria )
Yes but it's quite expensive in our store. Just under $10 for 5m whereas I pay $30 for 120m of the silicone paper.🧡

@@SoyandShea that's much shorter than the 1 year cure I've heard is necessary!

Hmmmm...I think I will make some Castile Soap tomorrow.
Have fun!🧡
Wonderful video,Keely! I loved seeing your process in detail. I should make a castile soap here soon.
Thank you 🧡 I think its one of those I put off making knowing its going to take space on my cure rack for a while 😆
Love the thumbtack idea! I’m going to use that. 👏🏻 I have to cut mine with a knife the next day, it’s like rock 😁
It's funny how sometimes it's harder than other days 🧡
Great looking bars. Where do you get the silicone paper her in Australia? Can you recommend somewhere to get the calendula petals as well?

Nice. I've wanted to make my own infusion as opposed to buying it for top dollar :)
Also I was thinking about making some tea with chamomile for its soothing properties. Do you think that would be gentle enough for baby skin?
Making infused oils is much simpler that it seems. I highly recommend it. I do make Chamomile tea for some of my soaps. It is very gentle
Thanks Keeley. I will try steeping some today in olive oil :)
Can I use fresh botanical for infusion? Thank you, Keeley🙏🙏🙏😀😀

@@SoyandShea Thank you very much, Keeley!🙏🙏😀😀
I am interested in making this soap can you recommend a website in the USA WHERE I CAN GET a kit with everything I need ?
Not really, as I'm based in Australia, and this is my own creation, not a kit. It's easy enough to gather all ingredients you need.
how long did you infuse the calendula? Thank you, Keeley😀😀🙏🙏
If you go back through the beginning of the video I do explain how long I heated it and then left it cooling.
@@SoyandShea Sorry, I didn't hear it. I'll go back again. Very sorry!

Do you use your lye and oils cold ,ie, make them in advance love 💗 to watch you make your soaps love 💗 from Dublin,Ireland
I tend to soap at room temperature to give me more working time
Thanks
Do you think it's fine if I use herbs I buy from the market?
It is best to use dry herbs for infusing so as long as they are dried, it should be fine
@@SoyandShea thank you 🌹
Pls .when added oat to oil .must be wett powder .or right
Sorry .Or Dry
I use dry oats
Good that mean Dry from package to oil
Hi, nice soap!
How much milk did you add to the oils?
If you go back to about 5:15 I explain my workings there.
Oh.... Thx I didn't notice that 😅
Veeeeeery useful..... Grazie cara
Can you make home .made oat oil. Can you express oil from oates at home
I've never heard of oat oil. I don't think this is something you can make
Vitamin e at .5% helps with the mold.
Vitamin E is an antioxidants so stops oil going rancid but doesn't prevent bacteria growing.
It took my castile soap a year to cure and not be slimy.
Yes it can take a long time depending on liquid content.
I love calendula infused olive oil soap it is so luscious ! Have a great weekend keeley ❤️
