Really love this video. Not an obvious advertisement for products. Very informative. Where in a mat to pitch, what weight he’s using, how he’s fishing it, the reasoning behind all of that and ofc some awesome catches. Don’t get me wrong, I’m okay with your product feature videos I’m always interested in trying something new, but I hate when I get clickbaited by this channel with a title that states it’s informative and it’s 90% advertising. I’m sure a lot of other viewers agree we’re going to watch it regardless.
We don't do that intentionally but appreciate the feedback. We'll try to do better on the titling. And we're always trying to get better at providing useful, helpful information to anglers while working with the companies that support us and other anglers.
Agreed, this was a very good video that was instructional...and not an obvious advertisement. And I also agree with James to a point. In all forms of social media geared towards a sport, and print media as well, we often feel click-baited into a sponsors sales pitch. For a long time I hated that. But I realized after a while that it not only pitched me a product, ( I hate commercials!) but it TAUGHT me something I might not have known before. Even if I don't like a certain brand or don't use the product, or can't stand the pitch man\woman, underneath the sales pitch is instruction. I learn how to use that type of product, or learn something that helps me make decisions on whether I want to try something new or try a new technique. I still flip the page prematurely, mute the TV or stop a video early if I feel I'm being 'sold', but I try to learn something new from the pitch before I do. I believe the vast majority of W2F media is instructional, but like he said, very diplomatically, they have sponsors to keep happy. I'm OK with that. 👍🏼
Thanks Bennie, and we love you watching Greg on Wired2fish. If you like this video, you might like this Hackney vid from a few weeks back: www.wired2fish.com/fishing-tips/flipping-and-pitching-mats-for-bass-greg-hackney-brain-dump
I’m fixing to try Greg’s advice, glad he’s giving his juice up to us. I’ve watched him on tournaments, but didn’t get this. Glad he took the time to share his knowledge, I got a 7’6” heavy rod last year, I’m ready to get em! Thanks
Thanks for posting this today as I am in Mississippi and facing the exact same things that Greg is talking about with these cold fronts. Three night of temps in the 20's after the water had warmed to 65 this past Saturday
It was really neat to watch him work and dial in on a pattern until he started finding productive mats where the fish had backed under in the cold front.
I love me some mat fishing. It's s fun getting into a scrape like that. It's amazing just how many fish will get into cover that looks like a it's to heavy for bait fish to get it. Hackney is a BEAST!
All I want to know is where you bought the gloves from? Where, how much, do they mess with your fishing game (catching bass) and do they keep your fingers warm?
Hey yal! I wanna know your opinion on Ark's Tharp series rods? Im thinking of getting the "okechobee special" and pair it up with a 13 fishing concept a2 for punching... Also the "supder duty" frog rod with idk what reel yet... any input appreciated yal!!
The hack attack is back I’d give my right pinky finger to be able to fish with him occasionally but I’m not rich enough to make friends with these pros lol
Hackney is mastermind of flipping/pitching. Great knowledge on so many levels & bait type breakdown in cover.

There ain't a better teacher that I would rather hear than Greg when it comes to punching.
I watch Greg’s videos over and over. He is awesome
By far the best "how to" fishing videos I've seen on the tube.. and I've watched a many of em. 👍👍👌👌
Absolutely love watching him fish a true artist at work
4:48 Love that sound!!!
Always been a shallow fisherman and Hackney is an idol. Good video
Awesome video. I've watched it several times and always pick up something new. Greg's a great teacher!!

Great video, Greg. Techniques, tips, attitude and good humor.
Great tips from the Hack attack!
One of my favorite anglers. Great stuff!
Hack attack!!! One of the best pitchn and flappers!!
He is fantastic, you can tell he really loves the sport.
Hack done upgraded his equipment 👍

Great job to Hack and his team, very informative!!!!
The jig bite is my favorite... takes a bit to get it, but man is it fun. Hack is the master.
Thank you for the awesome tips definitely going to try this
You're welcome. Hope they help!
Thank you very much for sharing. I really enjoy this channel. Has helped me learn to bass fish
Thank you for the kind words and glad it has helped you.

He's a lot of fun to work with. Such a great angler and very forth coming with information to help other fishermen.
@@Wired2Fish I bet he is fun to fish and work with. And his information on jigs is why I have atleast 1 tied on year round.
Thank you for a good lesson.
😃👍🏽
Great video once again. Hack is the man and has inspired me to fish harder and wired2fish has also helped me work to improve my own channel too.
Good deal. Thanks for the kind words!
Thanks for the tips! I have some great areas of matted grass and lillies, I'll be giving that a go on my channel this summer!
Loved that hook set too ;)
You're welcome. Good luck in your fishing.
Love it! Great video!!!!
Great info!!
can't pass up a Hackney upload
Us either! One of our favorites!
We need more. He should definitely go back to BASS also. It suits his style better
Thank you for sharing. I’m going to try to pitch a brush hog. They work good on the main lake
Good luck!
@@Wired2Fish that Googan frog is looking better
Thats the good stuff
All I want to know is where you bought the gloves from? Where, how much, do they mess with your fishing game (catching bass) and do they keep your fingers warm?
Damn, Hack just spilled it all out. I have been punching for 20 years. He just gave up all the juice I have learned over that time.
Hack,you the man.
Sir nice tips, sir did u catch snakehead fish with this technique. Here in India we don't have Bass, and can you tell me what is your bullet weight?
Best flipper and jigman on the planet
Need a pair of fishing gloves. Any recommendations?
AFTCO
Nicely Done ~
Thanks!
Idk if anyone else flips mats better than Hackney. And the hook set is unmatched dropping the sledgehammer on them.
When did hackney switch to Lews?
This offseason. This was some of the first testing he did with the new rods. He'll be providing input for some new designs I think very soon.
Wired2Fish i thought so, I didnt remember there being a full grip custom speed stick. They better be in the $100 range so I can pick one up😂😂😂

Why was his braid colored red?
What lake is this
hey man , you need find another site , you go easy here all the times
Lovvvvvve punchin .... I believe the bait doesn’t matter
That spot is the hackey-pocket
Play em in the boat!
Only if I can find that mat
Hackney: You know
Me: idk
I love the guy but how many time did he say you know
120
Am i the only person surprised to see just a motorguide X5 on the boat?
ThePaintballdude23 almost everyone one has an ultrax up front now! I was thinking the same!🧐🧐😂
johnny saechao right! 😂
The hack attack is back I’d give my right pinky finger to be able to fish with him occasionally but I’m not rich enough to make friends with these pros lol
Is hackney still w quantum?
Chris Mccloud
I caught that too. Looks like he’s paired up with Team Lews and Strike King. Similar to Mark Rose.
@@bradmcwhirt5504 he has been with strike king. just picked up lews.
Correct. I just meant he’s now with those two companies like Mark Rose.
No. He's with Lew's now.
Got snow on my boat.😣
We're still dealing with ice as well, so filming in Louisiana was a welcome reprieve.
Onlarge mats how you tackle it .say if that was a acre of mat
“You know”
i know...
If I could fish with one pro itd be him
Hack is a riot on the water!
Like the content but W2F ads are overwhelming
Bro pulling out hogs like its nothing.
Hack is the man!!
Hackney done you knowed 1,000,000 times🤣 but he is them an in SW La!!!!
