    ---
America, 1947. Despite hard choices and even harder knocks, Joe and Kate Keller are a success story. They have built a home, raised two sons and established a thriving business.
But nothing lasts forever and their contented lives, already shadowed by the loss of their eldest boy to war, are about to shatter. With the return of a figure from the past, long buried truths are forced to the surface and the price of their American dream is laid bare.
Jeremy Herrin (NT Live: This House, People, Places & Things) directs a cast including Jenna Coleman (Victoria), and Colin Morgan (Merlin).
All My Sons is an Old Vic co-production with Headlong

Not being used to watching theater’s shows, I can stay that I was pleasantly struck by the acting performance of all of them, in particular Colin Morgan, Bill Pullman and Jenna Coleman. I consider it a masterpiece.

That was awful, it just shows how good real stage actors are and how different it is to screen acting.

This really looks like natural instinct being stilted somehow, and strangely, nervousness and tension from Bill Pullman. I didn’t even believe him when he was picking up the sticks! Sally Field speaks her lines too overly rehearsed with a complete lack of natural pace and rhythm. People do not talk in one note and tone in real life. Where’s the variation? So flat. They’re not truly listening and observing each other at all. And they’re not giving each other anything to chew on either. As a result, it feels stale and untruthful. Man, I was going to see this play months ago, kinda glad I didn’t. Loved her in Forrest Gump though!

Agreed. I just watched a local production with amateur actors who were amazing. They were natural and believable almost every minute.
While I’ve always liked sally field and Bill Pullman, they both seem uncomfortable. They’re clearly acting, and that’s a shame.

The acting here stinks, but then again so does the writing. What publicist would choose this moment as a "trailer" to sell the play?
