    I got fitted for new irons last weekend. I tried Calaway Paradym, PING G430, and Titleist T-350. My current irons are PING G400. The Calaway Paradym was spinning too much, the G430 felt clunky, and the T-350 felt magical (yes magical). As soon as I hit my first seven iron with the T-350 I was like "OH YEAH!" I get my new set in about a week or two. I cannot wait to see how they end up affecting my score. Currently, I'm a fifteen handicap.

    • @davewylie654
      @davewylie654 7 месяцев назад

      Should add a club in distance for you as they have strong lofted them to insane levels. A 26° 7 iron is almost two full clubs over traditional 7 iron loft. The T100 is 35° 7 iron im not sure where they will stop but it cracks me up when guys say "I can't hit a 5 iron" well your 7 actually is a 5 so there 😂😂

      I’m a 15 handicap as well and was considering the T350s or the T200s. Just wondering if you considered the 200s at all?

      @@emiliopelaez607 The T200s seem like fine clubs, but I haven't tried them. If I switch from the T350 I'm considering Tokomo. They are similar to Titleist and are half the price.

      @PaulMcMenamin-eu4gi When I hit the T-350s "pure" they feel and sound amazing. I'm glad I upgraded from the G400s. Another difference is they are really high launching. I think that's why the 350s are delofted a bit.

  • @trevorwhite7203

    Looks perspective I instantly loved the t350. I tried both when getting fitted, I wanted the pings sooooo bad but the guy pushed me to try the t350s and for every 20 hits with the t350 we would get rid of maybe 3 shots and with the g430s we’d have to get ride of 8 shots to get a good average. I get less spin with the t350s but hit it close to the same distance. I’ve had my t350s now for like 2 weeks and have absolutely fallen in love with the sound and forgiveness! 1,000/10 recommend them!

  • @bund440
    @bund440 11 месяцев назад +6

    Hi Andy, I had a set of the 430 and I would have to agree with you I found them to feel hard and I didn’t like the sound at all. I changed the Ping for the Titleist 350, I found the 350’s to be a world of difference in both sound and feel. Now I normally stop at a 6 iron but the 350 6 iron is so easy to get into the air that I went and ordered the 5 iron and that has not disappointed, again it’s so easy to get into the air. Titleist 350 iron’s are a great set of irons.

    I shelved my g6 Pings, and bought a new set of G430's 4 mos ago. Not sure if they're the best, but I don't care. I love them. Get asked about em all the time. Driver pops! Irons are smooth, fairways 3 or 4 woods are easy to hit. Plus I live in Phoenix. Ping factory replaced my broken 3 wood shaft quickly. Kinda nice being close to the source.

    Fitted for both of them, the t350 won by far (sound, feel, distance, dispersion and consistency). That was a big surprise to me because I’ve been playing ping irons since 1989. Then they made me try the T200 and omg these are the one I took. Amazing clubs.

    As a senior now, I have discovered that the G430 HL with the 35gm Alta Quick shaft is outstanding. Miles better than the regular G430. My 8 iron used to be 130 yards, now 150 and sweet to play. I'm delighted....

    I had the opposite experience with those at my fitting. The ping flew higher, spun more and carried further than the T350. We had similar shafts too. I really liked the t350 but even with a 7i I couldn’t get above a 40* descent angle. G430 was right at 40*

    To dive deeper into the Ping G430 you will find there are two stock option shafts the AWT and the DG S300 (105?). If you are at a local shop here in the USA you will rarely find any AWT’s in stock. You almost always have to order them, and there are plenty of S300’s. This club is a fantastic iron in the AWT as far as feel, sound and over all performance. You didn’t mention exactly what shaft you were testing here? I’ve played the G430 in both shafts and the AWT shaft has made the G430 irons for the best set of irons I’ve ever played. The S300 felt hard and dull and I’m surprised any one would use them. It is 100% fact that shaft characteristics matter. Like I said there’s a reason why the AWT shafts in the G430’s don’t stay on the shelves very long at the shops. Hey Andy how about a test with the AWT shafts to see if I’m right? Luv the channel!!

    • @smokesgtp
      @smokesgtp 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@smokesgtp I’m a witness that the Ping G430 iron is two separate iron sets with the AWT and the S300 105’s shafts. It astounds me that a lot of these RUclips test reviews don’t focus on the shafts and the differences about stock options. They always reply to go get fitted? Well why not give us a better review as well. I think you are going to play well with that shaft, play well! And the Pings are a way better $$$ option.

    The ping looks better than the Titleist for my taste but I still don't like the rubbish cover plates in the back of both heads. Compare either of them to an Eyes 2 or an 845s, particularly the beryllium coppers heads, and the classic looks still outshine the modern bling of the new offerings.

  • @BiologistRyan
    @BiologistRyan 11 месяцев назад

    Went to a fitting maybe 2yes ago at this point. Both ping and titleist had the offerings at the time and I did hit them both. Titleist I couldn’t hit to save my life the ping were okish.
    Played kings a few years later as rentals. I am a much better player than I was then. The fitting was true. I still couldn’t strike them as good as the ones I was fitted for. So it was at least consistent eh.
    Played a course the next week with a full set of callaway. Felt better but ended up realizing those would have been my #2 choice at my fitting at the time.
    Forward another 6mo and I’m not sure my results would hold true. I’ve learned my swing even better than before.
    Point being to this drivel. If it feels good when you hit it, odds are the course results will match. To a point.
    My fitted set are super game improvement. I can still hit abysmal shots with them.
    I’ve also finished over 9 almost shooting even par, and have broken 90 twice this year for the first time ever.
    Tldr: hit something you feel comfortable with. Then go play.. a LOT.
    Edit 2. Im playing a STRONG lofted set.. seriously my 8i is my 150yd club… like my people I have a sub 80mph swing speed on irons.
    The clubs launch it high and it sound enough. I have 0 issue holding greens.

    Andy, being old and hard of hearing makes the sound issue mute. In this video I couldn't hear a difference between the two. Both were tinny sounding. Either set works well, With Titleist and Ping you are getting a fantastic club and it all comes down to your decision on looks. From the pocket book, both are outrageously too expensive. Great video and testing as always.
