Not for the pilot though. That was the unfunniest episode of the whole show. It would've been fine if it was for something from the second half of the series
This was possibly the best moment of the night! So hilarious! They improv so well! It's like you can simultaneously see themselves and their characters from Schitt's Creek all together on stage. Dan: "Thank you so much. There's nothing on the prompter. Umm, there's nothing on the prompter." Annie: "Is there like a tech guy or something?" Catherine: "...Maybe, but we should just open the envelope." Dan: "I don't think we should just open the envelope." Eugene: "No, it's gotta be coming on... Ok, they wouldn't be doing this on purpose, would they?" Dan: "Why would anyone want to embarrass us on national television on purpose? Why would...why?" Eugene: "I don't know. Why would I know? I don't know... I just..." Dan: " You just what?" Annie: "Why is your face being weird?" Catherine: "Eugene, did you do something?" Eugene: "No, I didn't do anything. I just may have passed the writer's room this morning and asked them to lift the dialogue a little bit." Dan: "You casually told a room of comedy writers to lift your dialogue? "Lift" was the word that you used?" Eugene: "Yeah, tighten it up a little, you know like..." Catherine: "And what was their response?" Eugene gestures to the blank prompter.
Congratulations- love the show! And yes, love that there is more writing from a female perspective and there is an audience for this. Cute comic acceptance bit and Paul W. Downs you are an adorable fox!
This should serve as a lesson to Ted Lasso's team. They should have just submitted one entry for this category as their multiple nominations canceled each other out.
Last year Schitt's Creek submitted two entries for writing. The Presidential Suite which was written by David West Read and Happy Ending which Dan wrote. Jimmy had no idea that the match up to watch was between Dan Levy and David West Read because Dan And Amy Sherman Paladino were nominated in the same category. But of course the best writer won the award and that was Dan.
Thank god it didn’t. Ted lasso is overrated while hacks is actually about women, smart, nuanced, addresses real issues, etc, I stead of a feel-good American story about a bunch of bros.
@@lesliemackinaw5810 give ted lasso another try! the "feel-good story about a bunch of bros" is a red herring. there's a lot more that lies beneath. that said, this comedian I like was a writer on hacks so I'm stoked for this win..
@@lesliemackinaw5810 That’s your opinion,. Maybe Hacks is better, but if you don’t see the genius of Ted Lasso and the depth of it, perhaps you should take another look
Cobra Kai which is actually more of a Dramedy should have won or at least been NOminalted for Best Writing, if not this year, maybe either on Season 1 or Season 2.
I absolutely love Hacks. Love the cast. On the screen. To my man Carl @4:52 who I find incredibly sexy, that dress and make up girl, no. Just no. That was definitely a "choice." But, if I may be frank, you reek with big and strong masculinity in a queer world, and this just pissed all over that fire for me 🥲💥
HACKS is the best. Jean Smart so awesome
I love that Dan Levy was one of the presenters since he won this award last year
I'm glad that they actually played clips here unlike the Oscars.
This show was so much better than the Oscars.
No, sorry to tell you but Ted Lasso wasn’t robbed. Hacks deserved this award… superb writing.
I’m surprised hacks didn’t snag a couple tbh. Such a great shiw
Not for the pilot though. That was the unfunniest episode of the whole show. It would've been fine if it was for something from the second half of the series
who said it was robbed. Ted Lasso was very very great, but I think Hacks deserved that. At least Ted Lasso won mostly everything
and also the fact they split their votes into 2 nominations, it's very hard t get it..
@@gpaderx6105 I find ted lasso to be good but that's about it tho. Not memorable at all IMO
I just watched season 1 of Hacks... 100% deserved it

I love the writing awards most because they represent the most important part of filmmaking
Without a script, there is no show or episode
Loved seeing the Schitt's fam again!
Catherine looks phenomenal 😍😍😍😍😍
The level of genius in the first few minutes of this, is quite astounding.
I like how uncommitted Annie Murphy is to this little bit she's like yeah can we just announce the winner already.
So good! They deserved this award and the others they won
Lift, was the word that you used? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Schitt's Creek season 7 'Comon!!!

This was so well deserved! I'm so happy!
I LOVE hacks. I hope there’s a second season!
There is! They said at the Emmys that they were going to start writing S2 the very next day so they couldn’t party too hard.
@@meganmanderso that’s great! Thanks for the info 🙏👍
I seriously thought Hacks was going to win best comedy series because of its wins.
It's surprising that people want something to win so much without having seen the other shows.
Happy about this, but Pen15 also keeps getting underrated too. Should've gotten more noms and more wins fr
💯
I'm surprised Ted Lasso didn't win in this category.
They split their votes with 2 nominations.
Omg lol desus is in every applause moment
Amazing!
“This is to women who couldn’t tell their stories at all because the world wasn’t listening”
“Okay they’re telling me to stop so I’m going to stop”
😅
they are the future
Hannah Waddingham casually sitting and clapping with her Emmy on the table haha 😂
I Hope Dan will be given a vision for a sequel like “David & Patrick”. Where they focus on their relationship after the wedding.
SCREAMINGGG
my family🥺
This should serve as a lesson to Ted Lasso's team. They should have just submitted one entry for this category as their multiple nominations canceled each other out.
The moment I saw the 2nd Ted Lasso nom, I knew their chances of winning dropped by approximately half.
Last year Schitt's Creek submitted two entries for writing. The Presidential Suite which was written by David West Read and Happy Ending which Dan wrote. They shouldve pick two aces / hope that kills you
Make Rebecca Great Again 100% should have won this
Paul w down is so funny
And so dang foxy adorable to boot!
she has a great top
Really thought it would go to Ted Lasso
I'm glad the love got shared between Hacks and Ted Lasso. Hacks had some really fantastic writing and a similar joyous, feel good quality

Ted Lasso...
it was nice show of unity. coordinating their masks
I only know my Canadian comedians. As for the rest of these people ... who the * are you??!
Ted Lasso..
Lasso shoulda won
Ted Lasso got robbed!
I disagree, I watched both shows and i think Hacks had better writing.
@@HoshisBoyfriend Ok. But Ted Lasso should have won this category if it only had just one nominee. Its multiple noms split the votes .
