I use my notcher actually on the fabric. I make denim, bags, pouches, wallets etc. I just kinda nip the denim instead of using scissors to cut a triangle notch. Much quicker.
@@girrrrrrr2 like into your fabric? You could try a rotary cutter with a shaped pinking blade or pinking shears! What Are Pinking Shears And How Do You Use Them? | Sew Anastasia ruclips.net/video/itZIfdrPm_o/видео.html
You mark the tip with an awl or a circular punch. The notcher is used when creating patterns from scratch in the fashion industry. In the home sewing industry they get turned into the triangles during digitization then you see on that on commercial patterns. You could also notch your commercial patterns for ease of marking. Hope you get a notcher & it improves your sewing life 💕 Thank you for watching.
Straightforward and helpful video! Thank you!
@@crisrmiranda Welcome 🤗

Oh yeah I bet it’s great for thick fabrics!!! I will have to try it next time I’m working with something thick.

Hi. Do you have a video on how to Mark where to place your notches to match up the front and the back scenes on a bodice or arms?
Hi, I don’t but they go where the curves no longer match up. Usually 2-3 inches in. 2 in the back & 1 in the front.
@@SewAnastasia thank you very much! I look forward to watching your videos.
Is there a tool like this but for cutting notches into seam allowance on curves?
Im still really new and dont know all the correct terminology.

@@SewAnastasia Ive came across them before but I wasnt sure.
Ill have to watch the video thanks!
can it notch the fabric as well?
@@soibahmad3583 If you notch the fabric you will wear out your notcher but you could. I would recommend scissors at that point.
How do you mark the top of the dart? I’ve never seen a pattern notcher. (Or even seen notches like that.)
