Yeah dude feel the same! What a great band. Nice songs to play with. And thanks! Years of rehearsals. But good pointers are to play downstrokes with click. Only dowstroking. Find perfect tempo for you and do it there as it goes relaxed. Then raise tempo like +5-10bpm. And again play it so it gets relaxed. And move on like this. Relaxed arm is the key

Learn master of puppets and increase the bpm

For a second I thought it was 16th notes but thankfully it is 8th notes instead. I would just straight up stop playing if someone did 258bpm 16th note downpicking :D. Still very impressive.

Can you gives us your secret on how to reach those ludicrous downpicking speeds, because whatever the hell I try, it feels like there's progress, and then the next day I feel like i'm playing with my left foot instead of my right hand.

Relaxed hand is the key. I recommend using click. Try to start with tempo your hand feels comfortable and relaxed. Jam it a while so it feels super easy and then raise tempo +5/10bpm and do it again. Jam one tempo as long as your hand is completely comfortable and relaxed with it. Then continue raising tempo like this. Yes, it takes time and determination
