@@mirkcurry5532 I admit the cutscenes are quite unique in style and miss them in the PSP version, but it's not like you can't live without them, and the "visual novel sections" are quite cool in telling the story with static images and the music in the background. About the 3D walking, I don't miss it at all. Because Atlus wasn't in its best moment financially and the console was the PS2, P3's world is pretty confusing due to it being the same repeated element again and again with big zones that have nothing inside them and make the game slower. The PSP version solves that, and while the 3D world does help to set the tone, it also has its downsides and gets tiring after the first hours of gameplay. Portable also has: improved pacing by cutting aprox. 20 hours of grinding and the tired system + FeMC that adds new social links/expands others instead of the thematic disaster that The Answer was. I think that the best thing would have been to have P3P's advantages + Vanilla/FES's ones or the option to switch in between Vanilla/FES's 3D world and cutscenes or Portable's VN style, because at the end of the day a lot of this is a matter of personal preference, not of objective truth.

I try to launch it, and all I get is a black screen. I can't find comments or posts about other people that ran into the same issue anywhere, so your insight is VERY appreciated

If you are worried about losing game progress, save often, rotate your saves across 5 or so save slots, and utilize PCSX2 save state feature which is F1 by default to create a save and F3 to load the save
@@FsJuicyJ So far that's working for me with no issues at all! Thanks for the fast support and now I can finally play the game I've wanted to for years, you've earned a sub from me definitely.
pls help! I booted the game and I keep getting a screen thats saying to insert a format disc and nothing happens afterwards, am I doing something wrong?
Did you extract the ISO from the Zip file?
Help! When i try to load the game it says ”File not found. Path:IsoFileSystem”
is it possible to use the safe file from the remix bgm version on the original bgm version of the game?
Save files should work between them
@@FsJuicyJ yea they actually do, just tried it. thanks
hey! I've been waiting for atlus to finally put in on steam but well.. yea T_T I downloaded the undub iso and I can control my party but the widescreen mod has not worked.. (I used the NTSC-U file) do you know a fix?
The undub ISO is a different CRC than the original dub version I used in the video. You can find the CRC name using the PCSX2 console window under CONFIG > Show Console. The console window will show something like "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES (NTSC-U) [SLUS-21621] [Game CRC] [Status = Playable]"
1EA75934 = CRC for original ISO
1D1F5BA9 = CRC for Undub ISO (original background music)
1D05660D = CRC for undub ISO (Remix background music)
Just rename your .pnach cheat file to the same name as the game CRC that you downloaded and is shown in the PCSX2 console window.

You would add the codes to the same pnach file
i seem got a problem on playing, i cant seem to go on another floor, i just got stuck on running, im thinking that you may know the solution so yea
Please help me. I had the old emulator for P3FES with the old mod (the one that you downloaded separately), and my PC had an issue that made it lose all of my game save files, and for some reason, that old mod didn't work anymore. I tried reinstalling it, and it still didn't work, even applying the right configurations, so I decided to uninstall it and download this hacked iso instead. Problem is: it doesn't even open. I try to launch it, and all I get is a black screen. I can't find comments or posts about other people that ran into the same issue anywhere, so your insight is VERY appreciated
When you are saying you uninstalled it are you referring to the controllable party mod or PCSX2?
What does the PCSX2 console log say?
Does this happen with other games or just P3FES?
@@FsJuicyJ Okay, so, in the order you asked:
I mean I unninstalled both the Persona 3 FES iso and the old controllable party mod, so I could download this iso with the mod built in.
"(SYSTEM CNF) Unusual or malformed entry in SYSTEM.CNF ignored:"
"(GetElfName) Disc image is *not* a Playstation or PS2 game !"
And yes, I tested my other isos, including Persona 4, and they work just fine
@@alexsanderivan6511 Hm. Usually an error like that would mean a corrupted iso. I would try downloading it again, unzip the iso from the zip and try to run it again. If you downloaded a version with different background music try the one with the original music.
Worst case you could make a copy of your PCSX2 memory cards and uninstall then re-install PCSX2 and move your memory cards back over so you don't lost any of your games progress
your texture looks smooth, is it something im not doing? i haven't entered combat yet just wanted to know if it was normal
Like the in game textures? I am only using the widescreen patch and PCSX2 video plugin settings as shown in the video. I don't have any other options configured.
hi, i’m wondering if there’s a way to install the mod if i’ve already downloaded the game without it, the game copy is on the japanese server tho
I made a previous tutorial installing the controllable party mod before this ISO was available ruclips.net/video/tHRrYvuOZ00/видео.html
Thank you so much for this- do you know if regular pnach cheats will work with the modded iso? I added an exp multiplier but I can’t remember how much exp I was getting before so I can’t tell if it’s working 😂
As long as they are NTSC-U (USA) cheats compatible with PCSX2 they should work. If you followed the video and setup the widescreen patch like I did, you can open the 1EA75934.pnach cheats file and add more codes to it to get more mods. Any mods that work with 94A82AAA CRC ISO of the game should also work with this controllable party mod 1EA75934 CRC ISO.
Yes, I'm here after the disappointing announcement
Tysm for the video! It was very helpful!
I would like to ask how I tell what the CRC is for my iso file? I tried the characters you said in the video but it didn't work for me. Thank you! I hope you reply!
Have a great day!

How do i do the cdvd step on the nightly build?
Does the game ID for my files of the game need to match up with the mod's in order to work? (I am new to emulation, so that's why I am asking.)
The pnach cheats file needs to have the same name as the game CRC to work yes.
For this particular mod it also needs to be a North American version NTSC version of the game
copy to not show up when right clicking pnach file
will this work/ or erase my save data i already for the game? if so is there another method to add controllable party members without starting a new game?
never mind I got it to work Thanks :)
Hey, thanks for this video. Was wondering if there was also a way to convert a save file from the original game over to this hack? Been playing for already about an hour and only now realized I could do this
Edit: it actually just pulls from the same save file the original pulled from for whatever reason lmao
The mod modifies the game data not save data, any save file will work between any NTSC-U version of the game.
I have a question. How do I get HD graphics like HD models and literally everything? I’m really new to modding and I have no idea how this stuff works
If you're referring to the P3FES HD overhaul mod is not finished yet, but you can download the current progress build from here gamebanana.com/wips/63624 and follow the instructions they provide to enable it for PCSX2

How do you run the game at 60fps? I tried to use a pnach file for a 60fps patch i found online but it has lots of glitches
The NSTC North American version of the game is 60 fps. If your game can't run at 60 maybe you have the PAL version. Does the game run fine without cheats enabled? Frame rate should not be related with the pnach cheat files.
Pls Help! So how do you extract the file cause when I try to locate the iso I can't find it.
If using the built in Win 10/11 right click the zip file and click extract
