    I have a meteor 350 and today I rode a Super Meteor 650.
    I live in Thailand, too.
    Wow is the word !!
    But then I must remember that I must not complain about the fuel average !

    I'm in the USA. I test rode a Meteor 350 for 45 minutes. Awesome. Ordered one and waiting for it's arrival. While the 650 is great, the 350 is better for me. It has the economy of my little Vespas and the feel of my big Fury yet more nimble and economic. I'm 70 and been riding since 12. Gold Wings to mini bikes, loved 'em all. But I've found more joy on scooters but keep going back to cruisers every now and again. Still ride my little 150cc almost daily for my commute to visit mom (20 minute ride). Anyhoo, enjoyed the video.

      I totally regret selling my 350. One of the best bikes I have ever owned. So light and agile. Superb handling and economy. Great choice. Enjoy 🙏

    Taking delivery of my stellar red Meteor 350 very soon, and RUclips videos are keeping me going while I wait. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and hope you enjoy the 650 as much as you've clearly enjoyed this one.

      Thanks for your comment. I’ve still got the 350 at the moment. Hard to find cash buyers in Thailand. So a couple for videos on the way. Part of me wants to keep it, and have a 650 also. It’s perfect for me to commute to school and back. I don’t need a t50 for that. Only for longer cruises. Enjoy your new bike. I hope they don’t keep you waiting too long. It’s been a pleasure to ride every day for 2 years.

    Thanks for this. I just got my Stellar Blue 3 weeks ago and have ran for about 130 kms. I really love how easy it is to handle, plus the engine is verrrryyy smooth. Sad that you had to sell yours but hey, it's an upgrade! Congrats on your Meteor 650!

      Thanks. At 55, I switched to the 650 while I still can. But I will have no hesitation to switch back to the 350 as I get older and unable to handle a 650 😂. The 350 certainly was the best bike I’ve ever owned 🙏

    Enjoyed the video - Loved all the background scenery with the white temples etc. I did a Northern Thailand tour in late 2019 and had a really great time. Fabulous riding including the Mae Hong Son loop with 1864 corners! I've recently sold my Himalayan and 650 Interceptor and now looking to buy a 350 Meteor Supernova and the new 450 Himalayan which is getting excellent reviews and, as with all Royal Enfields, offers great value for money.

      Nice one Jon. Both good choices. I’ve just sold my Meteor 350 and upgraded to the Meteor 650. Missing a lot from my 350. More videos to come 🙏

    I'm about to go to the 25K km service in my Supernova Brown, which I bough here in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in may 2022. I commute to the hospital about three days in the week (Im a surgeon) and all the weekends, be it riding in the hilly roads of inner Rio de Janeiro State or doing short trips, 2-3 days. I just love the thing. Everything works like a clock. I changed my Ceat tires at 20k. and Im going to change sprockets and chain at 25k. It's a rare case of being stylish, practical, and delightful, and cheap. I'm also waiting for the 650 (launches in the end of the year here in Brazil), but I can't see myself parting with it. It rains a lot in Brazil too, so I just take my rain suit from the pannier, It never leaves it. Or take the car.

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand  Год назад +1

      Same as me. I ride my Meteor rain or shine. I have water proofs also. But if no rain, just wet roads, they are too hot to wear. Hence the splash issue I have. If you are changing chain and sprockets soon, consider a larger extra 1 tooth front sprocket. You can increase speed about 10 kph. I may make a video on how to do it soon. Take care. Safe riding.

      The Classic is a lovely bike. Royal Enfield are making some really nice looking bikes at the moment. Quality, handling and fuel economy is very good. 300 baht to fill up and get 320km normally. Give me a shout if ever you venture to the North 🙏

    I would also be tempted to replace my Meteor, but the fact is that two other very interesting models are coming after the Super Meteor 650, namely the Shotgun 650 (looks even better than the Super to me) and the SCRAM 450, that is, with the 40-hp engine from the new Himalayan. Arduous choice 🤔Cheers from Italy!

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand

      Actually, all 650’s are thirsty so if your priority is saving fuel then you must stick to single cylinder bikes otherwise, as soon as you enter the 2 cylinder territory then it’s only fun, maybe comfort ( depending on which bike you select ) and so many other things but minus economy.

    Thank you for the long-term review! Always interesting. As for the rain, I've never owned a motorcycle that didn't get my lower legs drenched when it rained. I didn't even know it was an option. Something to look for on the next one!
    I owned a Purple and White Honda 600VLX for about 4 years in the 90s. Drove it all over California and Arizona. It was a super bike.

      Thanks for taking the time to comment. If you watch my other videos “Can I fix it?” , and “Did I fix it?”, you will see the issue I am experiencing. It’s getting wet after the rain has stopped, but wet roads. The front mud guard pours out water at knee level. Not ideal. As for the 600vkx, super old school bikes. Such a difference in riding experience between the 2 bikes.

    Hi Teacher T,
    What's a realistic service interval for the 350?
    The official 10,000km seems too long.
    Your pal from the last 2 rides.

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand  Месяц назад

      Birthday Boy? Sorry for slow reply. Life very hectic at the moment. For oil changes, the recommended intervals are fine. The only things that need frequent service are the brake callipers by the looks of things. Lubricating with special brake lubricant the rails so they can move freely. Else the pads wear unevenly. And of course oiling the chain after every wash or rain storm. Those OEM chains don’t like the water. All the best. 👌🙏

      I find Royal Enfield to be a very reliable brand.If fuel economy is important to you I recommend the Meteor 350. I owned one for 2 years and put 20,000km on it. Fantastic handling economical bike. I changed to 650 to cope with the mountains that surround me here. The enfield police are the worst part of the enfield community.. You can't say anything negative or you're attacking the brand, you can't have a bit of fun with it because 'it's not meant to be ridden that way'... The rest of the community is grand however, just not a fan of that subsection. The Indian users are much more realistic, the rest of the world should take note.
    The fuel efficiency is crazy, I wasn't expecting it to be that stark a difference.. Nice video, hope you enjoy the 650 when you get it. I would miss the sound of the single myself but at 20 000km I am sure you've had your fill of it 😂

      The Enfield police 😀. Spot on. Still not sold the 350 yet, so no 650 on the way any time soon. Unless I accept half of what I paid for it 2 years ago. I have decided (under the influence of the new year lubrication) that you are not old enough for the 350. You are just unable to handle the lack of power, that comes with age and experience. I have test ridden the Super Meteor an you won’t like the steering lock or lack of, for them quick u turns and as soon as you get it adjust the rear shocks 2clicks, it will be more comfortable.
