For the flares to work you need to build artillery in the castle, it is basically an artillery strike. Also good run really love fallout 4

That’s the artillery smokes you get at the castle, the flares are suppose to summon a few minutemen if you are close to a nearby settlement. I don’t think I was close to any of my settlements at all for them to work.

@@vicioussky ahh I see I only played with the minutmen until the castle I did not know you could get two types of flares
