When Geoff held up the wooden spoon while singing "I'm gonna carve his heart out" I yelled way too loudly "WITH A SPOOOOON!" Then I found out, he really did mean that to be a tribute to the late, incredible Alan Rickman. This is why I love these music nerds. Also, the fact that they named the doll Clara and said "she has feelings" just really creeped me out. I normally don't have an issue with dolls... THAT doll though.....

The Captain's Daughter actually refers to a whip used for punishment, not an actual doll. Although their use of an actual doll, a scary looking one at that, did add a lot of flavor to the song. Did you understand Geoff's threat to "carve his heart out" while holding a wooden spoon. That was a nod to the Sheriff of Nottingham's (Alan Rickman) promise to Robin of Locksley (Kevin Costner) to "cut your heart out with a spoon" in 1991's Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

Did you know, in the Disney movie 'The Jungle Book', the legendary Louis Armstrong was supposed to play Baloo the bear? There was a conflict with a previous contract and he couldn't do it. Now, while I think we can all agree that Phil Harris did a great job, it should be known that before dropping out, Armstrong did a version of 'Bear Necessities.'
