This wasn't anything I didn't know, but it kind of gives me a confidence boost.

I write a small character sheet with many physical characteristics and then the rest I come up with as I'm writing.

I like to give most of my characters contradictory, personality traits and give my characters two different wants and fears.
I use something called the enneagram personality test as a backbone. It also can help flesh out what your character could want or fear.

This made me realized that I need to figure the end result for my characters. It will hopefully help with my midway drag... Thanks!

Can a goal or Motivation be Funny for its premise?

Definitely! But you'll also want it to have a serious component as well, since it is clearly important to the main character, enough to push them to do whatever they need to do in the story. But a mix of both is never a bad thing!
