Dr Frankenstein your mind is at it again with another creation. Crazy how you & your cousin Paul always carry 4 inch tools in your pockets. Must be from your dads & in the blood. But best part none of you gave up on the old engine & when it came alive the look on your face was like a little boy who won his first prize. Prayers are always with you & your family
YES! I have carried a 4" crescent in my pocket since about 12 years old in the early 80's. I lost a Diamond brand, had a cheap one stolen and currently have a crescent brand. It's polished pretty good from living with a jackknife and a metal case tape measure 7 days a week. I love the truck builds. In Michigan we have such humidity and salt on the roads that we just don't see things like that in the wild.
Another SCORE Merlin!!🥰🥰 ..... And NO RUST!!!WOW!! Can't wait to see what becomes of THIS beauty!! Always good to have friends with cool 💩 they're willing to part with!! Stay Frosty.... Keep your powder dry and your head on a swivel.... Safe travels, friend❣️❤️❣️
I love the desert. Growing up in upstate NY before cable TV we would go to the local pub called The Bucket and watch cars rust. Needed a blue wrench for everything below the door handles.
Great wrench, I have carried a 4 inch Diamond adjustable wrench in my pocket for over 55 years, couldn't be without it. Love it. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
I love that Diamond T at the end. I also thought it was very funny spraying the valves with citrus! It started and smelled nice too :) I've done stuff like that
The ending. OLD SCHOOL way of finding neat old rigs in the days before Craigslist, the MarketPlace, countless other online sources, or even when local White Sheets did little to help.
I carry a 4 inch crescent with me and have since I was 16 years old. 52 now started alot of vehicles jumping the contacts on the starter solenoid of many vehicles
Hey! I used to live in Alamo some forty years ago. There were Higbees around then too. Didn't know (or don't remember) Cord, if he was even born. I have a brother who lives there still. Actually, I suppose he lives in Richardville, but still consider that Alamo.
@@MerlinsOldSchoolGarage I just mentioned this video to my brother, and he said that he was jealous of all the old vehicles that Cord has. Didn't know what he would do with them, but just the same....
I seen a gent put a first generation Dodge Cummins in a early 80's Chevy 4 door, he and his partner would rebuilt auction cars and ship them to Europe and thier trailer would haul 2 to4 cars depending on size and had a rack on the truck that could carry 2 or 3 more cars
It's a horrific nightmare to destroy that very nice old truck ..I wish someone somewhere would buy that truck and lovelingly restore it back to its former glory
Don’t worry it became a donor to a half ton and it will be restored to its beauty the dump truck would’ve ended up in a museum and probably never appreciated
how you can tell diesel oils life span is over when you wipe the dip stick with your finger and when you go to wipe your finger off if your finger is stained black then the oil needs changed and is no longer doing its job as a detergent, if your finger wipes off clean then it still has detergents in it and it's ok :) just a helpful tip for anyone newer to diesels and wonders why the oil gets so black :)
Believe me I didn’t think it was going to run either but after it finally came to life and we got some RPMs out of it it sounded better by the time we were done
If people only knew how many still exist as they did make hundreds of thousands of them.. I have seen them run into a crusher and near cried as they were still running driving rigs with so little to fix yet the state wouldn't budge... I gave someone who's name remains anonymous a fair some of money and then they were gone for a few hours to come back and find a rig gone... maybe as there were so many he said. I drove it into a box van and took it home where I got a abandoned title. Fixed a few things on it to make it safer.... a thirty five ford cab forwards with its original v8 engine, just touch the starter and it was running like it did so many years. I found it a good home with enough money to help me suffer its going away/LOL,. I found rigs in every state, the oddest one was a older fellow liked what I did so he has me come over to his shed garage that was falling apart. In there was a fifty six ford pick up, a old indian bike, a few extra parts and then he said at his house was one more... I went and there sat a packard clipper in sweet shape like well cared for. I told him I had not near the money for all these fine toys of his... his response was to me, sign that you too will care for them and they are yours! Those rigs are very personal to the original owner and don't care to see just trashed. Not all are nice as they think an some are much better than one could hope for.
Well i got a new word to use now.... "TEETERY" That cab is amazing! Maybe i will get to meet you when i win that sweet car from "fab rats" hahaha =) MR WIZARD STARTS ANOTHER ONE!
How long has he worked for LVP I worked there for 17 years last year was 2011. I was a mechanic now I live in Wisconsin thanks for letting me watch. Wendell Harker
Dodge don't build, design or own the Cummins engine Merlin, and Cummins has put there engines in plenty of other vehicles other than Dodge for as long as I can remember, smh, so please quit wishing out-loud.
But I have the big three under contract Dodge is the only one that has ever put a Cummins in their pick up line I know the Cummins is a module engine however Dodge has used it for 25 years now as their staple diesel engine none of the other big three have done such a thing
Great video... I used to live in Alamo. 70's. Great little town. Many memories..

A 4” crescent is of equal value to my knife and wallet when walking out the door!
You find the best trucks and the best projects to be working on. Great job, keep up the great work.
Old Chevys never die awesome old truck make a great rod, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Amazing to find one of those without serious rust-through. Great stuff, diamond in the rough looks the part.

Man that was cool!! I love the grill style of that ol dump truck..
I love the desert. Growing up in upstate NY before cable TV we would go to the local pub called The Bucket and watch cars rust. Needed a blue wrench for everything below the door handles.
Cord knows where all of the good stuff is!

Sweet score!!! Can't wait to see what you build with it.

That bumper looks like an awesome sound bar shelf!
I love that Diamond T at the end. I also thought it was very funny spraying the valves with citrus! It started and smelled nice too :) I've done stuff like that
If you can get 2 of the bumpers or a front and rear. Bolt them together put on some legs and a glass top for a coffee table.
U can start about anything. Enjoyed
Awesome, Merlon! Cords got a cool place there! Nice finds!
The ending. OLD SCHOOL way of finding neat old rigs in the days before Craigslist, the MarketPlace, countless other online sources, or even when local White Sheets did little to help.
More Repurposing good deal!...more yard art!...I love starting old engines!...thanks 4 video. be kind.

Thanks for sharing 😀😌
Another rad ride in the works, nice find!
Cool Truck Mr. Merlon, can't wait to see what you do with it. Keep the videos rollin' always good stuff from the Old School Garage!
I Love Nevada.
So beautiful. So much space.
Excellent video Merlin
I wish I could have found that whole truck before you got that cab. I would have loved to rebuild it and have a badass dump truck
Nice old truck , cant wait to see what you do with it ,
My man Merlin is so Oldskool! "This bed will be repurposed on a "modern" truck like this one" (points to a 1960s truck)! Lol love it!
Great vidj merlin wow some cool trucks there 👍👍👍👍👍✊✊✊✊✊💪🇬🇧😎🏴☠️

Cord is not as old as he looks and I don’t mean that in a bad way he’s pretty young

😱 my dad had a diamond T water truck for his sprayers and cotton picker in the 50’s
That's some cool stuff!!! Excellent!!
When a low compression engine won't start just feed it 24 volts and some ether it will fire right off. It has always worked for me

Whoa Merlin!!! You're on the content freight train and killin it! Great to see you putting out more videos. Great video!
That's a cool truck
Cool Stuff !! 👍
How about a video on that chevy hauler....
It’s coming

Much better audio editing this time, the quality is improving every episode! Good job!
Yeah we’re growing like crazy we have a way better camera system now to thanks

If you could mail that bumper and brackets to nova scotia ... I have the truck to bolt it on.😆
Yeah so you know how hard they are defined as the first one I’ve ever owned that’s complete
I knew I wasn't the only one carrying mini tools in my pocket
I know where this is. I use to live up this way in Panaca.
Man this channel needs discovered your content is bad ass you will boom watch and see I’ll back you the whole way 👍🇺🇸

Hey Merlon !! You are getting more projects to work on
old fat finder car great the best looking cars ever
You should drop a Cummins in that. Like on Vegas rat rods.

Sweet truck cream puff
You had a complete truck dump truck even would be nice if he kept it together
I got a thing for old yellow truck/ cars. And so do you I think…so, can’t wait to see if it grow into a hotrod… one question : Cummins or Ls?
shake hands with danger on the box removal boys
Please post a sorce or link to Cummings Vertical A/C mounting bracket. Thanks.
How long has he worked for LVP I worked there for 17 years last year was 2011. I was a mechanic now I live in Wisconsin thanks for letting me watch. Wendell Harker
Well if I remember right Dodge brothers made parts for all GM, Ford, so they would have stayed similar
You need a profile pick maybe an old school logo on one of your trucks as your RUclips pic.
Merlin... can we get a link to that alternator/AC compressor bracket
I will try to do a video on that there’s an accessory place that actually makes it
@@MerlinsOldSchoolGarage 10-4 thank you sir...
Can't wait to see the cab get used. What did you have to do to get it to run?
So Merlin, what did you end up doing with the 40 Chevy cab and front clip you picked up.
What happened to the show Vegas rat rods?
It’s over discovery Could not come to an agreement to renew the season
Is that the cab for the worlds biggest off road wrecker?
Merlin you Cummins swap those old trucks
12v ain't doin it, push it to 24, lol
I told him 36 was next we were going to start that motor no matter what
