This is really interesting. I have several treadle machines, but I was thinking of exactly this kind of vise, except working off a spinning wheel. More compact, though I suppose having the table is an advantage if one has the space. I was actually also thinking of doing this with a motor and two pedals, but in some respects the control is better with a treadle, and quieter. Also the computer control was a little beyond me. I would use a centered vise so that could have a true centered running.
Really enjoyed the history and watching you tie on the treadle vise.
