Jack escapes from the Endeavour (lord becket's ship) when Sao Feng and Barbossa start to attack, with a little help of a canon.
And that's without even a single drup of rum!
Everything in this movie belongs to Walt Disney.

    Becket: "You're mad!"
Sparrow: "Well thank goodness for that, for if I wasn't, this would probably never work!"
Sparrow: "That was without even a single drop of rum."
Jack Sparrow has intelligence, or luck, hard to say for sure which one, he's able to go one on one with Davy Jones and just about everyone else in the series, he's either fearless or insane, or both, and he never fails to enjoy the moment. He's a true pirate and anti-hero.
Johnny Depp never fails to impress. Amazing script, amazing acting, amazing movie. If the movie has Johnny Depp in it, expect it to be an epic and, at the end, wish for more.

Yes, because of the former succes of the movies. But without a script by Ted elliot and Terry Rossio it already is an indication for me that it's going to be a flop, and it was, and I'm certainly not the only one. One of the reasons I dislike it is that they're saving money on production costs, filming almost all the scenes that are supposed to be at sea with a blue screen, which is very easy to see it's fake. The former 4 movies used an actual ship (in the first movie they build 2 on a barge and used one tall ship, in the second they built 2 seaworthy ships and used 2 other tall ships, in the third they build another vessel and in the fourth they rebuild the Black Pearl into the Queen Anne, another seaworthy vessel. In the 5th installment they only used decks with bluescreen and made one schooner that had only a few scenes on the actual sea)

    • @skylerjr2648
      @skylerjr2648 7 лет назад

It's not a flop if it does pretty dam good at box office which it has. Some critics hated it some loved it. But to say it's riding the previous titles success is a bit much.
Again you opinion in welcome but not everyone shares it.
Johnny Depp and team can turn a terrible script into a lovely movie.

It was always satisfying seeing Jack send Will's ass to the brig. Most of Jack's plans for betrayal were almost always for appearances only. He planned to go after the heart and eliminate Jones completely. But Will's impatient, hot shot, wannabe pirate ass never had the patience to wait and see.

      xpertgamerable He doesn't always succeed.
He constantly gets captured. But the thing is, he is like a fish or a cartoon bar of soap. Once you get a hold of him, he squirms out of your grasp.
The trick isn't capturing him. It's keeping him captured.
But I think the key to his success is his ability to improvise and look for the opportune moments and intuitively figure out what to do when the moments come.

This is what disappointed me most in the most recent movie. In the first 3 films (and even kind of the fourth), Jack is a mad genius. Even though he's silly and often drunk, he still always has a plan/outsmarts his foes. But in Dead Men Tell No Tales, it feels like he doesn't contribute to the story at all. He just sort of clumsily gets dragged along for the ride. I get that he's no longer in his prime, but I still feel like his character changed a bit too much.

Bob Bobby same for me. I was anticipating 5 so much and when I first saw it something felt off but I just told myself that I loved it. Upon rewatches of it, I came to admit it was a disappointing movie. It felt off because like you said, Jack didn’t do anything in the story and was so different. All he was in the movie was side humor. What a missed opportunity 😞
