- Dr. Walter Martin starts a seven part series titled Kingdom of the Cults. A Christian, Dr. Martin was one of the leading Cult researchers of his time and his information is essential in bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to cultists. In part one Dr. Martin lays a foundation for the rest of his series. The audio sounds slightly off at some points because it was ripped from an old cassette but it is still listenable.

Having almost joined the J.W.s Walter became my hero. As a new Christian in 1981 I was discipled by Walter Martin and John Ankerberg. I had the pleasure of meeting Walter several times at church and at a Jesus festival. I miss him dearly.

I heard him at Grace Church Sun Valley Calif Grace Church @30 yrs ago Dr Martin was so bold and correct it was several nite seminar.yes a soldiar to the max and there were certian cults there boy there was WAR..SPIRITAL WAR WOW! bb

I was in several cults for over 30 years... and I am still alive. this was a tough road for me.I lost family, friends and loved ones, and nearly my own life. Suffering from RTSD ( religious trauma distress syndrome ) has been my onus since then. But I love everyone unconditionally - cult or no cult... Christian, Moslem, Jew, Bahai, Buddhist, Mormon, whoever lives and breathes on this earth, because I have learned that no one is to be made to feel "other" in this world. There is room for us all here.

One of the best books to help Christians understand the enemies ways. Knowledge is the best way to know what is coming and help stand in strength. Study and prayer are our best weapon.

+Luz A2 God does call for us to expose lies and false doctrine I agree. What does that have to do with the way we are speaking to each other. People can be corrected without being called morons or without someone belittling them. All I'm trying to do is encourage Christians to remember that we are to show love to one another. Even if we have to correct each other it should be done in love. Someone corrected me on the very same issue and I still have to be corrected sometimes. I never said I was above anyone and if you read my comment and felt that way I apologize, that was not my intentions. Knowing God's word is one thing but applying it to your life even if just through conversation is another thing. This message wasn't meant to make anyone upset. Why are there such harsh responses?

Luz A2 I know what blasphemy is. People who are not Christians will blaspheme God and mock Christianity based on the conduct of Christians. I never said I was perfect. Everything I posted was all in love. I'm not telling anyone what to do. That's why Gods Word is the final authority not mine. Titus Chapter talks about Christians conducting themselves in a godly manner so that the Word of God isn't blasphemed. If someone corrected me out of love I wouldn't be upset. I'm only basing it off of what I'm reading not the lifestyle of any one individual. We are all supposed to be on the same side. I am NOT a Jehovah's Witness. I am a Christian. God Bless you.

The only "book" that is true is the Bible period.
We cannot have a schizophrenic gospel in which we talk to the world about how much god loved them and do not tell them how much it will cost them if they turn away from that love.

My mum had his book by the same name, wish I still had it, mum had lots of teaching on cults, I learned a lot from her. The Jehovah witnesses are so sweet but so so eternally wrong! They need to be able to see truth.

I have almost finished reading Walter Marti's book The Kingdom of the cults but I have noted that he may have mistakenly made an error regarding the second birth on page 323 in the section of the World Wide Church of God. There is a play on terminology between the words 'born' and 'begotten'. He feels that when Christ comes again, and our bodies will be changed from corruption to incorruption, that's when being born again takes place and that comes in conflict with John 1:12-13. Then on page 407 under the section called The Road to Recovery, he makes a claim that Christianity is an eastern religion and that Jesus Christ was born, died and resurrected in Asia. Can you confirm this for me? There is definitely a conflict here.

We must never let it pass from before our eyes, and we must speak, so we must know GOD'S WORD or we will be deceived. Only through the HOLY SPIRIT can you understand GOD'S WORD for HE is the mind of CHRIST in us. Many people say that they love JESUS and are saved but are deceived because they don't seek a relationship with HIM. THEY are fooling themselves, we rmust receive HIM down in our hearts. It's not a mind thing. What is in our heart is what we will speak in our mind. That is why we must cast down imaginations and bring into captivity every thought that that exalts itself against the knowledge of GOD, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of CHRIST. 2 CORINTHIANS 10:5. IF you do not know GOD you will be deceived. Who is GOD? GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON, AND GOD THE HOLY GHOST. Many people are deceived because they are either afraid of the HOLY SPIRIT or they worship a false holy spirit of the occult which they believe is a woman. When witnessing to them , you have got to know what they believe so you can present the TRUTH to them. Even then they most likely won't listen or receive. We are to tell them and the HOLY SPIRIT will do the rest, HE knows who willing to receive.

What's your belief of how we came to be, and how our world came to be? I personally just can't for one second think that our world, animals, people etc came from nothing. It is a scientific impossiblity that something comes from nothing. Many people believe in a big bang theory, but again, if you think about it, how could we possibly consider the world we have now as the result of some sort of cosmic explosion (for example - if the world we live on was any closer to the sun we would all burn up, any further away we would all freeze, and life would be unsustainble. Now think about the entire vastness of the universe. Yet we are in exactly the right place. Many people belive in the theory of evolution. But there has never been one recorded/observable example of one species of animal evolving into another - its just a theory - yet it has been accepted by many as fact. (natural selection /adaptation is possible and observable, but not evolution from one species into another). If evolution was true, how come we never find a partly developed eye, or a evolving hand etc.
Plus, there are so many scientific facts in the bible that were written long before humans discovered them. In fact, in the entire history of the universe, nobody has ever been able to prove the bible wrong. They've tried to argue with it, but its never been proven wrong. Happy to dialogue with you if you want to and give further examples.
The creation of the heavens & earth is enough to know that it had to have a Master mind behind it. It would not be from two mindless stars crashing together as in big bang theory! Everything is too intricately put together, look at our own human DNA so intricately woven together. There is a Master Creator. only you can choose to believe and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior for the forgiveness of sin. We are all sinners. What do you really have to lose?
