Dr Weil has, from my perspective, and my experience, made the world a nicer place to exist in. It's not easily described. The World is, and had been, a better place knowing he's here.
Got here after Ram Dass Gaia doc. ad... Had forgotten about Weil, haha. Listened a lot to him & Chopra in the 90's. For anxiety, for the avg. person, just live as upright & transparent as you can. Nothing to consume. But if you're coming off heavy substances use any thing & everything within reason.
Thank you for your work! I'm a alocholic with PTSD and anxiety, Xanax was incredibly helpful when needed I tried Kava Kava and unfortunately became addicted, which didn't happen with Xanax. I think kavà kavà works on same receptors more so than Xanax. Just FYI for the alocholic reading this. Many plants are more helpful than pills along with knowing thyself imhop🙏
He was right about cooking mushrooms at a higher heat, it’s just the way it’s done, but I’m a chef, we always use salt when cooking mushrooms, obviously for the flavour it produces but also it helps to draw out the moisture, you can even sprinkle some salt into them before cooking at look closely at the mushrooms you see droplets forming around the salt.
I missed the live show but I wanted to say thank you for doing this interview. I really enjoyed it. I have a question for Dr. Weil. You mentioned growing tomatoes, peppers and eggplant in your summer garden. I too grow these plants as well as a few others. I recently seen some other health experts say that it's a good idea to eat less to no plants in the nightshade family due to inflammation. What is your opinion on this? I'm Italian so I love these foods and do eat lot of them.
For exercise at home, I would add that a lot can be done on a yoga mat that isn't even yoga. There are so many body weight / calisthenics exercises available on youtube. I enjoyed this conversation and want to get closer to plants and fungi.
I really appreciate Dr Weil. However, regarding meat, I find he's towing a party line. Cattle grazing on federal/state lands help cut down underbrush which is often what furthers forest fires. There's a symbiotic relationship that's been reduced/exterminated by politicians/eco-lobbyists without considering ranchers or consumers. Pork used to be a small family farm business that humanely raised pigs throughout middle of America. That's been replaced by foreign/factory farms that chemically castrate male hogs. Part of returning to good food is resurrected family farms. While lobbying against soybean farmer subsidies, how about also helping soybean farmers or small business farms a chance? Best regards
@@kathya2785 I don't think moose did. If those animals aren't there now, the problem still exists. Hogs are raised in pens. They don't graze in underbrush unless they are wild. They need to stop being chemically castrated. I'm sorry. How do wild animals not there help underbrush problem?

Wild horses used to graze this land also but most of them have been or are being exterminated, likely due to placing cattle there.
Elk, Buffalo, moose, deer and horses grazed before cattle and hogs.
