Weirdly I picked one of these up around 6 months ago to have a play with, not knowing what to expect. The device looks amazing and is such a perfect size for slipping in a jeans pocket. The OS was surprisingly quick and intuitive. A full screen device of this size with updated specs and screen tech would be amazing. I also got the green, obviously ❤
the main problem is battery, chipsets these days need a minimum of 2500mAh battery to operate in a capacity worth mentioning and the Lumia 20130 needed exactly that in order to work well. Now we COULD try one with say the snapdragon 480 5G, it doesn't take too much to power it and is very low of resource usage so it could last a while. The problem is all the background crap that runs on even android one these days because without telemetry they can't get all that free money through data harvesting. What I find interesting is that HMD has all those programming engineers across the street at Nokia who could help them on designing a new unobtrusive low power UI and OS but they haven't utilized such because THAT is the key to having a device come even close to the Nokia's of old at this point

This one in particular is nearly identical to my 520 save for some obvious differences. I owned an Asha phone with both the touchscreen and numeric keypad. The system is actually pretty good if you only needed to use WhatsApp and basic browsing, phone functions, etc. I just wish some companies would do this design again :)
:D I really want to bring back such a concept. The simplicity, design, functionality, was great for a basic phone + playfulness missing from modern phones.
@@AbdullaZaki The leaks and photo concept before Asha 501 launched were quite impressive, on par at least to N9 and could actually rival iPhone with the right amount of support and resources
1. Older Nokia always has unique designs. I don't know what makes HMD not use their old design like this Asha or X series because it would be cool of the sell "nostalgia" with the real taste of old Nokia too. 2. Make removable battery great again. As a human being who lives mostly on dry land, the non-removable battery for waterproof phone isn't really a big deal.
Double "tapping" was more like double knocking (if it's similar to the X2 DS, I'm guessing it is). In fact double tap was based on the microphone and not on the touch screen so if you put the phone down on the table and double knock on the table it also would work perfectly. Try it and let me know
I owned the exact phone, only in black, back in its day. It wasn't a very capable or pleasant to use, but it did feel unique. It even had one or two system feature updates, a Foursquare app, and a custom browser which could download files to your OneDrive folders. I do have to add that the case, while very unique, scratched fast and a lot. Also, the rubber which went inside a Nokia logo indentation fell off on mine pretty quickly 😬 I tent to not comment on RUclips, but I wanted to say thanks for the memories.
