It's embarrassing how loud that sketch made me laugh. I just couldn't control it everytime they showed William's face. His increasingly mortified expression was absolutely hilarious...
Carey Mulligan's appearance last night seems to prove it. Can't wait to see which British actress is the next wife to exasperate Mikey Day (fingers crossed for either Olivia Colman or Vanessa Kirby).
This whole skit was amazing!!! I couldn't breath, Mikey is so underrated ""My dear lydia why do you miss that dog?" "LYDIA! I do not have our dog!" "HAS MY FATHER PASSED AWAY!" "WHY WOULD YOU SEND A FIVE YEAR OLD TO A WAR ZONE!"
I have watched this SO MANY TIMES, and it makes me laugh EVERY FREAKING TIME. It's SO GOOD. Mikey Day is the best at these types of roles. Also Phoebe Waller-Bridge is hilarious at Lydia. These sketches of the husband and wife writing one another, while husband at war, are some of my all time favorites. As I said before it's genius writing. So is the acting.
The tune wasn't chosen at random. During WWI, British Tommies serving in the trenches changed the lyrics to something more appropriate, which started "When this bloody war is over".
I thought the skit with Claire Foy was lightning in a bottle and I was nervous when I saw the title that they’d ruin it, but I’m so glad to see they nailed it again 😂😂😂
