Hey Mark, awesome spot, and awesome photography EXCEPT for that dirty sensor. I have been a pro photographer for too many years now, and one of the necessities is CLEANING YOUR SENSOR BEFORE EVERY SHOOT. It's easy. Just get a good quality kit with swabs for your size sensor, and some cleaning solution, and NEVER have video/stills ruined by sensor dirt. **ALSO the larger the aperture you shoot at, the less noticable the sensor shots are. Get a high quality variable ND filter(s) for your lens(s), to maintain exposure, and shoot wider. Have a look at Hyperfocal distances for your lens/sensor combo, to shoot MUCH wider, while still maintaining your desired DOF. LASTLY, practice better lens changing skills to avoid getting dust/dirt in your camera body, that'll end up on your sensor. Hope this helps!
Thank you for your emphasis on the science and geology of the places you visit! That's what intrigues me beyond the obvious scenery and beauty, and is what makes your videos stand out among the others for me. Thanks again!
Thanks for watching! On most hikes in Utah outside of the National Parks, it's not at all unusual to see most dogs off leash. We're not accustomed to all of the on-leash restrictions when we travel elsewhere and go to hike.
MARK! You are such an inspiration for us. Absolutely love your content , so easy and peaceful to view. Your videos are amazing. You have sparked my interest so much , I launched my own RUclips channel and look forward to doing great stuff like you someday. Its like a legacy thing, my next of kin will be able to see this beautiful country through my eyes 30 years from now. Thank you again!😍
Your vids are always great and I’ve subscribed for a while. I do kinda wonder about the loud techno ish music, but it’s fine- the content is worth it and I just have to keep my hand on the volume. Keep up the great work! Ooh; just got to a nice acoustic part...😀
Thanks Andrew! We try to mix up the musical styles within each video. You may not believe it, but the music level in our more recent videos (including this one) when we're not narrating is exactly the same volume as the narration itself. But we sincerely appreciate the feedback, and we thank you for watching!
That was a beautiful area . Will plan to go out there. Hope the hike is safe no to hard. Love your videos. You seem to fine the most beautiful places. Thank you.
Thanks as always, Leroy! We can't emphasize enough how easy the Little Wild Horse Canyon hike is for most folks. I've even seen 5 and 6 year-olds do it, and even the dachshund made it with those tiny legs.
Another great video. I've been to goblin valley and hiked the little wild horse canyon. I did the loop. Loved it. I did it in conjunction with Capital Reef. I think I remember that area you camped at, it's on the way to the slot canyon, several folks were camping over there.
That's the spot, Eric -- right on the road between the slot and the state park. The loop is definitely better; we didn't have the weather on our side this day. And for the adventurous, Ding & Dang Canyons are better still -- there's some fun challenge on that loop. Appreciate it as always!
We've actually got two friends with that exact same Rpod -- they bought them within weeks of one another. We were out with both of them in Ep. 29 ruclips.net/video/sB6D-qnKKZo/видео.html . They both love them. And while Mrs. Grand Adventure is quite claustrophobic, for some reason slot canyons don't wig her out -- I've never quite figured that one out.
Grand Adventure yeah lolol I mention that because you crossed the Colorado river bridge 😄 and that really looks nice but yes Utah is always and amazing place to go
Very unique campsite! Can you imagine hiking through Goblin Valley at night under a full moon? 😳 You know there is a miniature slot canyon type hike down in the south end of Lake Havasu? It is also tight in spots and there is a rope in one spot to assist in the decent or ascent. Thanks Marc!
Hey Marc. Just catching up. Been away on our own little adventure plus Juliet has had Surgery on her Spine. Great Film not too sure about the chimney climb but looked lots of fun. Thanks P&J👍
Oh, my...our best wishes for your speedy recovery, Juliet! We've got some catching up to do on your channel, which we'll tackle post haste. Thanks as always, folks!
The names are fab wild horse masa and little wild horse canyon absolutely brill , see what you mean about the canyon and fashion flooding would not like to be caught ! Nice one
In a typical slot canyon flash flood it can be raining 20 miles away, yet send a 20-foot wall of water careening down the canyon at 30-40 mph. It seems that every year, someone dies in a slot canyon flood around here, and it's so easily avoided. Thanks as always for watching. G&Z!
Gherro, for one thing there's a ton of pronghorn antelope out there. Rabbits, snakes, geckos, birds, coyotes, bighorn sheep, insect life... It looks inhospitable to us, but there's a surprising diversity of wildlife that calls the San Rafael Desert home.
Another great episode... Your videos make me feel like I am missing our in life and you keep adding places to my bucket list! In another note, I've just noticed I am a few episodes behind. I wonder if YT is not showing me your videos in my feed. Lastly, is the lady with the dog your bride? if so, you are a lucky man... She is gorgeous! Thanks Marc!
Sounds like you've got some catching up to do, both in episodes and your bucket list! 😉 RUclips's algorithms work in mysterious ways. Thanks so much for your great comment, but no...the lady with the dog is our friend Abby, lovely bride to our lucky friend Colin and mother to Kari, the three folks featured in this video. There's a brief glimpse of the back of camera shy Mrs. Grand Adventure in our last episode from Bears Ears.
Mark Really enjoy all the advice and your videos! Thanks I’m heading out to Grand Tetons and staying a few days at Gros Ventre campground. Was wondering if you have a favorite camp site out there that would accommodate a 30 ft AS Thanks Shayne
Good morning Shayne! Our favorite up there is the upper part of Shadow Mountain ruclips.net/video/2ascEHqlnt8/видео.html . We got our 26' TT up there but admittedly the road is quite rough and steep above the large open area at the bottom. We've got good ground clearance, too, and Airstreams are not always so. I guess it depends on how brave and comfortable you are. If nothing else, park at the bottom and walk the road a bit, and if you're uncomfortable after that, just get a spot with the others at the bottom of the road. Happy trails, and let us know if we can help further! Thank you very much for your viewership!
Hey Marc, love the video's. Hey question for you, I know you use a drone for your videos a lot and wondering if you know of this regulation requiring a 107 permit to fly? I was on Facebook and someone had posted that they got finesd because they did not have this certification,. I got nervous as I am leaving for a trip this July and wanting to use a drone.
Yes, part 107 is an FAA commercial UAS pilot certification required if you use a drone for commercial purposes; for example, you hire yourself out for real estate work, etc. Recreational or hobby flyers do not need part 107 certification. However, rules are soon changing and expected to take effect later this year that will require testing for hobby flyers as well, but not as rigorous as the testing is for 107 certification.
Hi there! Just found your channel and subscribed immediately! We are actually heading to this area tomorrow for the first time to explore there. Quick question for you - Since we aren't familiar with the area, I wondered if you know where the closest dump/fill station might be. I know there is one at the Goblin Valley Campground, however, since it's closed due to Covid-19 restrictions I worry access won't be possible.
Thank you Tressa! However, Carbon, Emery and Grand Counties are currently prohibiting non-residents from staying overnight in their counties, even boondocking on public land, as a COVID-19 precaution. And Little Wild Horse/Goblin Valley is within Emery County.
We wanted to double check due to all the closures/restrictions so I actually called BLM offices yesterday. The Wild Horse area is in the Price district, which is still open for overnight camping.
@@4eternity1 that's interesting to hear, as it seems to conflict with this order: moabcity.org/DocumentCenter/View/2783/SEUHD-Restrictions-Order-03172020-FINAL Goblin Valley & Little Wild Horse are both in the southern end of Emery County, and Price is in Carbon County.
We definitely get that. In fact, the music in our videos doesn't match our own personal taste, either. However, you're missing out a bit by muting it as we go to great pains to a) use music that conveys the mood of the segment, and b) match the music to the visual elements on the screen, which takes a lot of work to do. However, to each his/her own! 😉 We're just happy that you're watching, thank you.

@@mariobusnardo5925 excellent to hear! So glad that you enjoyed it. We were actually down there two days ago on Tuesday, hiked the canyon and visited the State Park while camping a bit further north in the Swell.
Your timing is impeccable, Lorne -- we finally bit the bullet, grew a pair and wet cleaned the sensor on our Sony a6500 tonight! And we nailed it! Trust me, no one cringes more than me at those spots that'll appear in just ONE MORE VIDEO -- then we'll be on to crystal clear 4K thereafter!
