- 9 hole round in 6 min. A couple of my best shots in here mixed with A LOT of bad ones. Sometimes you play to your handicap, and most of the time you dont. Oh ya, and also Super Mario Bros. 2 themed music in the back. Enjoy it homies ❤️ ✌️

My back nine a couple of days ago was just like that - tough days make good days more enjoyable - at least that’s what I’m told😅
Idk dude. I think I'd enjoy good days just fine without a round like that. Hope your next round is better than this one lol. ✌️
So many positives to look at in this round. I like how you are trying more lofted shots around the green. Great stuff man, keep it up!
Thanks homie! ✌️
100% relate to the tough round. My game has absolutely tanked over the last two months, so I have more rounds like this 9 than not. But I haven't given up on it and have refocused on some drills and fundamentals over the last couple of weeks that are finally starting to show up on the course. TL;DR I'll be back!
Nice video and congrats on the channel coming along quite nicely!
The beginning of this season has been pretty rough. Made some big swing changes with my coach through the winter and I've been trying to incorporate them, but with no success yes. My last round without the camera went well with the new swing. +5 thru 9 holes. But then when the camera comes out, there's a little added pressure. Next video should have some better playing in there I hope. Thanks for always checking in on my videos Mike. Really appreciate it ✌️
Love the...this is a slice hole. I have that in the bag and can play that whenever I want....
Lol. It's like my specialty ✌️
Love the mario lofi music. Tough round but the thing about golf is it is just as much mental as physical. Keep grinding man.
Dude, Mario 2 was such a trip of a game. Not sure how many people will actually recognize that one lol. Glad you got it. Thanks for checking it out as always! ✌️
This is awesome to watch as someone who is a 13 handicap! Basically get to watch myself. I’m from East Lyme, Connecticut too!
I love when the algorithm sends my video to other CT players. Thanks for checking it out! Really appreciate it ✌️
MAn, I love your vids. Keep em coming
Thanks so much!!!✌️
Common theme in every single one of these high handicap swings is the cast. And it's the only thing that a golf lesson will NEVER address.
Go check my latest short video I posted. My last lesson addressed it.
@@MGGolf you have a great transition, and looking at the lag in the video you keep it until right before compressing the ball, and then you flick your wrist up a bit and the club slightly casts. As a high handicapper myself this is been my sticking point especially on the course as the tendency is to "help" the ball into flight.
The camera doesn't capture impact very well. My 7iron is roughly 90mph and at impact trackman numbers show a -4 degree AOA. So it's not likely that I could be flipping/casting at impact.
@@MGGolf you're definitely casting. Not the worst in the world, but it's there. That would be the only thing I'd work on.
Really enjoy your video, man!
Glad you liked it! ✌️
@@MGGolf: Thanks man! What’s your real handicap now btw? It’s nice to see vlog from golfer with similar skill.
Bout 17 ATM. Kinda stuck in this 15-18 range
Hey those sand traps won’t be a problem this year! I always enjoy those kind of rounds where you just make it to the course and are able to just get on!
Surprised the crap outta me to get out so decently first try lol.
It was actually good Friday when I went to play and I didn't even realize it. In hindsight I prolly should have checked the calendar. ✌️
Played 9 the other. I couldn’t swing a club to save my life. It was almost comical. I stopped keeping score. But I bet I finished around a 55. I come to learn as a newer golfer, these days will happen. Have fun out there bud. Great video.
The worst days. I played 9 yesterday and it was bad. So I convinced myself to play another 9 at different course to make up for it... Bad move. Now I gotta make sure my next round makes up for both of those lol. ✌️
I just played a 9 hole and hit +5 probably the best round I’ve played. I made a few changes, instead of hitting driver all the time I’ve been playing some irons. You won’t get as much distance but you will avoid some trouble which will save a few strokes.
That's awesome. Nicely done. When I went from break 100 to break 90, the majority of it was just course management. Like you sed, avoiding trouble and playing safe will save strokes. Narrow fairway, grab an iron. Water short, club up. Long approach, lay it up. Smart, safe, boring golf lol. ✌️
@@MGGolf exactly. Boring golf is good golf. Now I just need to shape up my shirt game and my putting.
Love the video man. What camera or app do you use to create the tracked shot? And do you use a tripos for every shot? I am trying to do the same. Thanks!! And keep it up!
So this video was filmed on my phone. Pixel 6 pro and I used the mobile shot tracer app to edit. My newer videos are filmed on a Sony zv-1 with the shot tracer pro app for PC. The change allowed for true 4k instead of 1080p up-ressed to 4k.
And yes to tripod. I have an attachment that clamps onto my golf bag that I mount my camera to. I'm a walker so it works out well that way.
I'll prolly do a video to show my set up for the course vlogs at some point. Subscribe if you're not, if that sounds like a helpful video for your future endeavors. ✌️
Awesome man! Thanks for the tips! I think these videos are awesome and super helpful with course management as well as beginner golfers. Maybe see u soon on Tube!
Love it. Let's go 💪

Awesome. I have a few questions about your channel and golf journey. Is there an email I can reach out??
Hey Jake. All business inquiries go to tbcmarkyg3@gmail.com
That's one of the brutalities of golf. When you know what you can shoot but have a round like this.
Once you get better it gets even worse. I used to play a LOT either on course or was at the driving range. Was almost every day. Got to the point that on 9 holes I was often shooting 41, 42 on 9 holes. Then would come a day where I would shoot 45 and I would consider it a horrible round.
Don't get out as much as I used too so I'm not bothered much. Just happy to be out and swinging.
Fickle game it is I tell ya.
What a stupid game. Hit this 1.5 inch ball for a quarter mile into a 4.5 in hole and try not to get mad.
And yet I keep coming back...
@@MGGolf 🤣
See, we are like drug addicts. That very first pure shot gets us hooked with a feeling of pure bliss and for the rest of our lives we keep chasing that dragon. Our drug dealers are the golf "gurus" who promise that if we follow their teachings we will become golfing gods and the retailers who tell us that if we get this brand of ball or this brand of golf clubs we will add 40 yards and hit it straight every time!
Instead we lead a life of pain and heartbreak with short periods of contentment where we think we may have found the correct formula.
Ha. I may be exaggerating a bit, but only a bit!
On the head dude. And swing coaches are like addiction counselors lol
You should buy golf shoes stability is very important especially when the field is wet :)
I'm between brands ATM. That's all I had...
Funny we have the same initials MG
If you're middle initial is an E, then we're twins
@MG Golf haha nope I don't have a middle name but my little brother is Edward lol
Of course he has my middle name! Lmao
wouldnt this make him a 32 handicap
If he scored the same in his 8 best rounds out of the last 20 rounds he played, then yes.
Handicap is calculated as an average of your 8 best rounds of your 20 most recent rounds... So if you shoot 88 eight times, and then shoot 120 twelve times, you are still a +16 handicap.
If you averaged all those 88's and 120's, it would come out to 107, or +35
This round actually didn't even move my handicap. I keep it on an app and enter my scores for each round I play.
Handicap also takes into account the length and difficulty of the course.
But ya, you could loosely say I played as well as a 32 handicap
